In the AG room we just had a GSC AG tournament and there was some weird visual stuff that went on in this battle here: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen2ubers-653170031

Basically after the first Snorlax died the next two showed up as having 0% HP and the chat log reflects this. The tour's banlist was /tour banlist !sleep clause mod,!species clause,!ohko clause,!double team,!minimize in case anyone wants to try and replicate this.

Edit: Got even weirder this game where it seemed like Mew had well over 100% total HP http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen2ubers-653172891

Hi, I was playing a game when a strange bug happened at turn 25
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7monotype-653324989
It was in a custom rules tournament which was anything goes monotype (Monotype but with all bans and clauses removed) but that's probably not what caused it.
also when I mouse hovered over the dragonite in question the hp was displayed as "hp:fainted"
Im pretty sure a dragonite isnt supposed to take 4.6% from a +1 ice beam but it died afterwards so it might have just been a graphical glitch.

You removed the Species clause which meant that the client didn't know which Dragonite was which.

To continue on from the post about IVs earlier. All Hidden powers currently fail in past gens.

Examples below:

Gen 2:

Gen 3:

Gen 4:

And Orda-Y Confirmed that gens 5/6 also display the same message. All these IVs have been modified manually with the correct IVs/DVs with no change in the result

When you select Doubles UU in the teambuilder, instead of showing the Pokemon in that tier, it defaults to "DNU" and shows every Pokemon that isn't OU (including CAP), instead of showing the Pokemon that would be Doubles UU by usage were Doubles NU a real tier. This isn't super relevant due to the small playerbase so I've delayed posting it, but I went to go try and do it myself this morning and couldn't even figure out where to start. Thanks guys

In Dual Wielding, I was using a Zygarde with Groundium Z and Leftovers. When using Z-Thousand Arrows, you somehow get a x1,2 boost from Leftovers. The math is correct, as Tectonic Rage from Thousand Arrows is base 180 power but it shouldn't get a boost at all.

There is a bug with Oricorio. I have three replays to show it:

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-654528146
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-654541351
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-654544151

Oricorio's Dancer ability triggers it to copy any move with "Dance" in it that is cast while it is on the field. In the main game, this does not trigger during the invulnerable turn of fly.

However, in Showdown, it works differently. When an attacking dance move is used around Oricorio while they are in the invulnerable turn of fly, it will copy the move and use it. However, if a stat-boosting dance move is used instead, a bug occurs. The Oricorio sprite descends from the fly animation to mimic the dance move. The stat boosting move will "Miss" (...?) and the Oricorio will remain on the ground. For battle calculations, the Oricorio is still treated as mid-flight, avoiding most attacks, but appearing grounded. Other status dance moves work as a mix of the two - I tested feather dance and teeter dance, they both take effect and both cause the bug.

So when you're in a tournament and your opponent challenges you and goes offline right after that, you won't be able to accept the challenge. But since the server sees it as you being the one that isn't responding to the tournament, you end up getting disqualified by the autodq timer. This is a really frustrating bug as oftentimes when you have it happen to you, it at first takes you a bit to realize that that is the issue at hand and once you do, explaining it to room staff and having them disqualify the other person takes time too, by which you have most likely already been automatically disqualified.

There is a bug with the IV's in SM.
When you paste a team, for example, with HP Fire Diancie, the teambuilder puts the HP Fire IVs by default, when in this generation, you can all IV's in 31 if you want. This only happens when the IV's aren't clear in the paste.

I found a bug with Toxic.

When a Pokémon is badly poisoned for 15 turns, every turn after the 16th one will deal 15/16 damage, never OHKOing the Pokémon unless they have 15 HP or less.

Here's an example with a 16 HP Diglett : http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7anythinggoes-650855631
Another example with a 80 HP Diglett : http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7anythinggoes-651705454
Edit 11/9/17 : I just made a battle with a 31 HP Diglett : http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7customgame-657047739

I don't have a 3DS, so I can't test on S/M, but I don't think that's normal.

Stoutland can only learn Superpower from move tutors from Gen 6 or earlier. It only learns Psychic Fangs from breeding in Gen 7. Despite this, a Stoutland with Superpower and Psychic Fangs passed validation checks in the Showdown teambuilder.
Stoutland @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Superpower
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs
- Return

With that Stoutland on my team, I was able to queue on the ladder and play a battle, as shown in the replay below.

I'm almost certain this is illegal. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure if this is intentional to keep some of the mystery about teams intact (but I doubt that it is), but shiny Pokémon do not show up in Team Preview as shiny. This is not the case in battle, or in the Teambuilder, where they clearly show up as shiny. This has happened to me in-browser and in Google Chrome, if that matters. When I initially consulted the Help room on showdown, there were another two people at least that chimed in saying the same thing happened to them (I do not know their browser or whether they use the showdown program or not), so this clearly isn't a bug specific to me.

Proof:
Team Preview of a battle I had. My Heracross is shiny, but does not show up as such.
And here is the turn when I first sent it out in battle. Clearly shiny.

I am reasonably sure this is how it works in game - team preview does not show shiny Pokemon as shiny but it shows them as shiny when they are actually on the field. As far as I know, this is intentional as PS attempts to follow the game as close as possible.

Ah, I see. It does, however, make a very specific "challenge run" I like to do sometimes unnecessarily more difficult though. I occasionally when bored make a throwaway alt account and do a shiny hunt on Showdown, where I load in a random team and attempt to KO opponents' shinies. If I do so, I get to "steal" those Pokémon and use them on my team, with the aim to basically get a full team of shiny Pokémon. I used Team Preview in the past to tell whether or not the opponent's team was useful to me in any way before going into the battle. I would just auto forfeit if I saw no shinies basically.

With that in mind, would it be possible to have a setting to opt out of this? I appreciate for the sake of following the game this is nice, but some people would probably like to see shinies? I understand if not, just wanted to bring it up. It doesn't make the challenge run completely unplayable, just more tiresome.

Showing Shininess at Team Preview has real competitive implication. For example, Shiny Greninja can't have Battle Bond as its Ability, and Shiny Tapu Koko is locked into a Timid Nature. By giving away that information at Team Preview, you lose valuable information that you wouldn't lose in-game. There won't be a feature to toggle it on or off as a result (though I like the idea of your challenge).

Hello, for some reason, I am no longer receiving desktop notifications when I am in another tab from Pokemon Showdown. This has started happening over the last 36 hours, and the browser I am using is Google Chrome. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, as well as restarting it and my PC, I have reset my settings and allowed notifications for Pokemon Showdown however they still won't show on my PC. I was directed here by the Help Room in case it was a bug with PS, so would like to report it. Thanks Zygardeorder/Stratospheres.

Note 1: I also have pop ups allowed for PS.
Note 2: Ignore this sirDonovan solved it.

Noticed some strange behaviour of the ability Trace in Dual Wielding: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7dualwielding-656614171
Porygon traced the opposing Pikachu's Light Ball, which was in its ability slot. Pikachu used Knock off. It not only removed the Eviolite from Porygon's item slot, but also knocked off the Light Ball it traced with its ability. Later, when I switched Porygon into Marowak, Trace no longer worked.
Also, when tracing a non-exclusive item, I can immediately use it, like gaining recovery from traced leftovers or SpA boost and choice lock from traced Choice Specs. I don't know if that is the intended behaviour.
