Day 1
Joking aroudn and
i highly encourage any and all scum roles to target me at night :-) nice surprise in store for visitors come one come all xx
on a serious note town be as active as u can scum's win last game was depressing
hawkie is prooooobably town, they rvs me consistently as a townie off the bat whereas i dont recall them doing the same thing as scum. likely too scared
Interesting observation but, it's not like this really matters does it.
haruno wagon is aids you people are shite
feels off to be dismissed as town so early by asek + their defence of haruno is literally what i done last game as scum going against it was just like low hanging fruit towncred to me lmao
Jalmont Earlio thetwinmasters knights town asek blazade scumlean whydon's only activity being voting asek for their post about me also has my hackles raised
feels like 3P1K aka radicate is mostly sticking to rvsing and voting people he knows from psmafia which indicates to me he's trying to lowkey lay low but i'm unsure of that atm
First real reads. Has KOC as town
he’s chucking out townreads faster than i can count also the fact i scumleaned him then received a compliment for my scum games lmao opposing the d1 policy wagon is easy towncred but i don’t think town try to do it so low-key.
this is almost formulaic. Excuse my inactivity -> Comment on what’s going on -> townread 2 strong players
oh hey look, proph and my slot are at odds consistantly now. Yay for finishing how we started?
knights and jalmont r town and blazade is scum u r getting there asek i have faith
Another knights TR, but this is still the same as his last reads basically so I now question why I bothered to quote.
Hawkie then focuses blazade a lot. And reading the game now, I guess I do see they have a reason. But it does feel weird. He then kind of vanishes for the day while parking his vote on my slot (along with aubisio, which is weird because I do feel like two mafia putting their votes together at EOD is odd.
Day 2
i’ve had the week from hell moving sorry i wasn’t here for deadline i don’t have wifi posting from phone i’ll go through the thread and post properly later but tbz wasn’t scummy and i still think blazade is Vote Blazade i’m also sad scum didn’t target me last night but w/e i tried x
Keeps tunneling me, but also baits/jokes again with the role part.
He then basically vanishes for the rest of the day after parking his vote here. He did say quite litterally there he had stuff to do so I guess that's NAI. But still weird to tunnel till death.
unvote Vote Hawkie
Hawkie
So here KOC is doing an inactive ping for hawkie. Now there's WIFOM here, but the two sides are 1. KOC is pinging an idling village for town cred? To cause a mislynch? or 2. Well, basically the same thing so I guess this is NAI but still the first time I can find (though I haven't been reading though their 3 posts too much) where a scum interacts with the hawkie slot
Hi everyone.
Will be catching up soon, but a summary of what has happened thus far would be nice.
Okay here he subs in. At this point for reference, XX has a lot of suspicion and so does aubisio. I was personally SR KOC here but I don't think too many other people were at the time.'
-not related- but on this page KOC also pushes for Epik l
Still no content from proph but at this point he says he's in the
OK, completely caught up. I see we have.. a dichotomy of sorts with Haruno/KoC so we should probably resolve that first/rely on mechanics to snag a scum?
Either way, I've read the thread, I have reads, I will spend the next hour or so writing them up before heading to bed. If anyone wants my viewpoint on things/wants to do some real time interaction, totally up for that.
KnightsofCydonia Why did you not neighborize N1 if that is indeed your night action?
starts to actually do stuff (and this ISO is about to get more nuanced blah). Starts off with a haruno/KOC swing, particularly aimed at KOC. Now I do want to put in here as I haven't (re)read his other stuff yet. But at this point if Proph were scum, he would see that KOC was outed by the whydon flip and XX/Aubisio had a fair amount of suspicion. If he is scum, me expectation here is that he would see that defending at least KOC was hopeless/KOC was doomed and go for a hard SR on them as well as SR on his buddies to take the town credit, while also wanting to steer a lynch to someone that's not his buddies (or potentially on KOC who is seeminly the most screwed at this point?)
So this won't be a super-exhaustive readlist because sleep beckons, but I do think that it would be good to share my initial thoughts on players in the game as a starting point and to figure out who I'll need to reread later. Also will try breaking this up into many posts, as an experiment for people who don't like to read walls.
Aubisio: Don't really remember much of substance from them? Proposes Haruno as policy lynch and then fluffs it up. This post is making me raise an eyebrow, however:
I've noticed that newb townies are more likely to say stuff like "I have trouble figuring out reads" moreso than newb scum, in my experience? Because they're actually being genuine about the process of forming reads moreso than scum who.. aren't forming reads because they are faking them. As for the persuade thing, literally ignoring it because I don't see how much impact it has on the game prior to lylo stuff. Plus, vote manipulation mechanics are terrible. I don't know. I skim their ISO and I don't get much out of it, admittedly. Gun to head, they feel like newb town to me who has trouble actually getting into the game? But that's obviously a super loose read and stuff. Would need to like, actually interact with them in order to get a better read on them, but newb town for now?
Soft defense of aubisio here
Just going to dash most of these because I want to be in bed by 3:30 AM:
XnadrojX: Scum and probably should be dead. Incredibly overdefensive on Day 1, hasn't really scumhunted, placed lazy votes on all the wrong people. Lynch lynch lynch, should have been the lynch Yesterday IMO.
MoodyCloud: Moody's an interesting case; he is notably more engaged and active and more.. nuanced/contributive than the last game I played with him was (where he was scum and generally did not do anything for most of the game) but I don't know if I want to immediately conclude that this is Moody's town meta and skip off into the merry day. He really deserves a reread and engagement since I get the feeling that he's pretty competent and if we talk then we shoooould be able to sort each other's alignments?
Knights: Second strongest scumread when I was reading through. He doesn't feel at all like the Knights I played with last game IMO. Wasn't a fan of Knight's first couple of posts in RVS, felt like he was trying to imitate what a townie /should/ be saying rather than it being actually genuine? I don't get the sense that he's actually considering people's alignments or actually trying to solve much at all this game, he's more trying to put on the appearance of doing so. Like, he's making statements and voting people but he's not actually trying to figure out the game. I'll go more in depth on this tomorrow.
Apricity: My notes say that he feels town for 523 but I don't remember that post at all. Again he feels fairly invested and active, brain lumps him in with 3P1K. Will look over tomorrow and do some analysis there I think.
That's all I think, scum suspects right now include Knights/Xnadroj/Haruno but I do think the best thing we should do is resolve the dichotomy and use that as a stepping stone to establish a solid PoE so we can just run through this game.
Goes for the hard scum read on XX and Knights here.
also related: what is an omniguard?
Vote KnightsofCydonia
Then votes KOC here, despite XX being the stronger scumread?
Okay reviewing that now. Their read on XX feels a bit shallow to me. Like, it's not *wrong* but it just read so generic and almost like "I read where my partner was fucking up and this is what they did" (or alternatively "I feel like this person is going to die so I want to be scumreading them"). Knights is somewhat teh same, but with a bit more depth imo. That said, I find the vote on KOC weird as town. Like if proph=town, here they go "XX is most likely scum, I vote KOC who I scumread less than XX". That said, I can see this easily fitting into a scum view. Where Proph, as scum, sees that XX is being universally read as scum while also going idle as fuck while KOC has been outed by a watcher. Now from the scum standpoint who is a better person to die between xx/KOC, well I guess really doesn't matter when there's been a mass claim. But I guess there is merit to the thought that scum=proph pushes KOC for....actually I don't know. I can't fit this weird vote in either way.
But they do get on KOC's case about
Proph then vanishes for awhile until Texas calls them out on it
Should we do a full massclaim?
Every half massclaim I've seen has ended pretty terribly for the town and a full massclaim would probably shed some light on the roles we already have?
Oh I guess we hadn't done the mass claim earlier when I thought we had. Well that actually does change the math a bit. If there hasn't been a full claim, then XX's role becomes much more valuble to the mafia as it gives them guidance for who to kill at night. Which makes Proph's behvaior here really really interesting. Essentially, when the lynch could go anywhere, he backs a KOC lynch at a point where KOC being lynched over XX is more adventagous. However when it looks like XX is going to be lynched no matter what, Proph then engages and starts the process of massclaiming, thereby also eliminating the need for the mafia to have XX's role around.
Here he presses apricity and while that's not unreasonable or particularly scum (hell i was doing it as well since I wanted to know if apricity conflicted with XX's claim) but in retrospect proph doesn't really give a reason. Leading to the sad WIFOM of was Proph just trying to get more information as town or a
apricity
if we're doing a full massclaim, we should be claiming everything because we want as much information as possible in order to resolve this claim situation
you being an investigative role is very helpful in figuring out all of this, because you might be able to potentially counterclaim Xnadroj
Okay, gives reasoning here and...I actually do semi agree with him. So meh.
I'm A Bear btw, vanilla town.
berurururuururururu
Huh, didn't catch this my first time around.
1. Starts the mass claims
2. Presses on people for not giving full information
3. But then, after doing both of those things, THEN he claims
are you serious about this?
apricity joking about a 3rd party claim, when it is confirmed that there are none in the OP, and you're trying to use him saying that fakeclaiming is bad as a reason to scumread him?
Gets on KOC's case here, but it's sort of weak in the threatening part. Like it's calling out KOC for taking a joke litterally but he doesn't seem to g
If Earlio/Whydon/Apricity are all town then I really doubt that Xnadroj is a town alignment cop.
Also I know that he's been skating through because of all the claim shenanigans but I feel like it's important to re-iterate that I have a fairly strong behavioral scumread on Knights? His attempt to mudsling apricity feels really opportunistic and not at all genuine, and I don't really see him trying to scumhunt.
Okay, he goes places with it a bit later. In this case using it to reiterate his earlier stated scum read. Which I guess is good and I believe I actually semi agreed with this. But at the same time, just ugh. This is what I hate about this slot (actually I think I'm about to post this in a second so I'll get to that point then)
I've seen ascetics be used similarly to millers to be honest in mafia setup design; basically a role that looks scummy and sounds scummy and their chances of actually impacting the game close to non-existant.
I would not think about it too much, personally, and just try to read Aubisio off of behavior.
Just the slightest defense for aubisio here. But not really going anywhere with it, except telling people to look at aubisio from behavior and not consider the role which sadly is just NAI to me.
Like basically it comes down to behavior and Xnadroj is not behaving townie-like at all is what it boils down to for me
but at the same time he literally idled multiple day phases in the last game and he flipped town and could have been a mislynch that would be preventable if he was around so ????????
ie "I think XX is mafia but I think he might also be town"
Knights
Hitmonleet
Haruno
Xnadroj
maybe add Aubisio somewhere and this is where I am at?
Like surely the game is harder than that, right? This is just the easiest "pick names out of your PoE". But at the same time I don't have much of a reason to deviate from it?
If we don't get red flips today I'll reread and analyze things more in depth since I sincerely believe it's not this easy but it's a fine starting point for me.
hm. This is a strange post. Especially the first bit. Like, if you are in this game and think KOC is mafia and whydon is towny/or at least believe his watcher results. Why do you ever put Haruno and KOC into the same scum pool? Like, with the claims and believing KOC is scum, it does become solvable to town at this point that it was likely KOC failing a kill on texas when haruno blocked it and whydon saw it.
Texas Cloverleaf Earlio Jalmont If there are deep scum in this game then who do you think they are?
Feel like I want to talk about this sooner rather than later because my nightmare scenario is Xnadroj flipping town
Okay I feel like this is better. If Proph is scum, then why does he bring up XX posssibly flipping green? It doesn't really come off as defending or trying to get the lynch off XX (or if that was teh intent, it's super subtle) but at the same time. It also feels like a soft defense. Like if Proph is scum and just listed 2 scum + 2 town as scum team + his other last buddy as a possible scum and feels that the 3 of his buddies are screwed, I would expect the scum here to want to bring up the idea of a deep mole as to draw suspicion off his scum buddies and cause the kind of paranoia that makes a town kill itself instead of going for the obvious lynch.
-end page 50-
So I'm going to continue the ISO from here on. But I wanted to post to let people read and evaluate and whatever.
My conclusion so far: Man, first of all, fuck this slot. They are in the kind of position where I think it's really hard to read. Hawkie basically spent his day just pushing for my lynch while having minimal interactions and then vanished while then Proph subs in at a point where KOC has been outed by whydon and XX is heavily suspect with aubisio receiving a far amount of suspicion for legitimate reasons. It's the kind of sitiuation where a decent town person would entirely pheasible catch onto the same tells that others are and push. BUT ALSO it's the ideal situation I feel like for a scum to come in, realize his team is fucked and go for the buss on all of them in order to establish the town cred needed for end game and so far. I do get the sense proph's play matches that. He pushes KOC instantly over XX when it's better for the scum team to lose KOC over XX. But then as soon as XX seems done for, Proph pushes for a mass claim, meaning it's safe for scum to lose XX at that point. Stuff like that sticks out particularly to me because it shows plans and stuff that town can't really do. Like, the sole difference between a town and scum in that postion would be deciding the value of losing scum in some order which proph hits. That said, gdi. A lot of their posts I ended up agreeing with at the time and frankly I think they did have town basis to them...but again, they also match up with the sort of plan and thought process I would have expected mafia to have around that time.
ie: fuck this slot, but as of page 50, scumreading it
