"Good" is not world player of the year standard, he got more goals in 12 champions league matches than he did in 35 odd league games. Ronaldo scored 23 goals and got a further 20 assists. It's no coincidence that Utd lost twice when Ronaldo was not playing and scored about 2 goals in the other two matches.
Also, in the Liverpool match vs Reading, the penalty was just, Carragher fouled the guy with a foot on the line (finally he gave away a penalty after doing the stone cold stunner in the last 5 matches)
Being a Utd fan, I can only help but wish for Liverpool to lose. We will probably win or draw against them this week-end and I think that Chelsea will have too much strength for Arsenal especially as there are doubts over Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini and Van Persie

also, personally, I don't really get the best player debate. In my opinion, right now there is nobody who is like a class above everyone else. Its all around the same level of play and the only reason people pick someone is personal likes and dislikes.

Mm, I have it for Wii but didn't get into at all, I found the method of control a bit too gimmicky for my taste. Lack of Manager Mode stopped me playing it any longer, so I went back to FIFA 07 on my PS2, heh.
Mm, I did notice there seemed to be a fairly positive reception of the controls from people over at GFAQs and other places, I suppose maybe it takes some practice to get used to and accept.
Also, I feel like bringing up the UEFA Champions League.

I do, I have a fantastic team in master league with Fabregas, Ronaldo, Rooney, Micah Richards, Alonso and Kompany although I got pretty fucked over by the game I only realised that teams were offering me 0 for players and I'd accepted and now I have 4 games to make up about 5000 points

Good luck to Porto on the champions league even though I'm rooting for their rivals, Benfica who is in the UEFA Cup right now and if Porto wins I won't ever hear the end of all the bragging.
As for national teams, Portugal's in a pretty competitive group, Switzerland, Turkey e Czech Republic. But we've eliminated the Netherlands and England (which didn't [amazingly] qualify for the Euro 2008) before so I think we can be at least in the second place of the group.

I have fifa 08 for the wii, its hard to play but i find the minigames it has incredibly fun, especially the table soccer game

anyway you shouldn't rise your expectations to the point of thinking the team you're rooting for will win it all.
Arsenal already lost their unbeaten streak. They lost 2-1 to mid'sbro, as did Liverpool, 3-1 to reading =/
Tomorrow's going to be very interesting, 2 matches between the "big four" . If Liverpool loses to United it's pretty much good bye to any chance of winning the premier league title. I personally hope Arsenal draws with Chelsea to make it easier for liverpool or united to catch up with arsenal.

Mexico may not have the best 2nd team, but at least its better than England and a lot of other European countries who think that are better, Mexico its the 3rd better team in America, after Brazil and Argentina, the only ones that have defeated us lately are USA, and it's because we always play in their country and local matters
Goldemblem, stop that whining. Mexico has a decent team, but is far from the stronger teams like Brazil, Argentina, Italy bla,bla; if you can beat them in a match doesn't mean you are better.
If that was the case Costa Rica, USA and even... Guatemala (see last Mexico's game), would be better than Mexico, that logic fails compadre.

I am not saying that Mexico its better than Italy, Brazil or Argentina, i am just saying that the mexican team doesn't sucks like Thunda said (it just pissed me off) and are a decent team that can give battle to any other team in the world and about the game against Guatemala, they won i admit it, but no one can win always, even teams like Brazil have lost against teams like Bolivia (that have some good players but a relatively new league) and if you watched that game you can tell that guatemala played like pigs and Chuautemoc was just stooopid >_<
Oh lol, 8-0. That was quite an embarrasment to us, as Beşiktaş is one of the Top Four in Turkey: Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor.
