Meloetta @ Leftovers / Safety Goggles

I wanted to share a great option for checking MMY, Sceptile-Mega, (Kyogre-Primal, Necrozma, and —ates are other threats Muk-A cannot take) is Meloetta. I saw Willdbeast suggest my Unaware set be added to the SetPedia. I know people were suggesting removing Muk-Alolan since its Unaware set barely survives hits by MMY’s Contrary/Shell Smash, and more importantly because Sheer Force Earth Power 2HKOs it.

The benefit of Meloetta comes from its better Stats: It’s higher SpD allows it to survive hits at 3HKOs without Leftovers, which enables it to use more beneficial items like Safety Goggles. Regarding its physical bulk, It’s Def and HP is almost the same as Muk-A. Now, it’s Speed is also at a good level, which pairs well with Spectral Thief, allowing its middling Speed (too slow to be under sped by common set-uppers), to become faster than even MMY after using Spectral Thief (Spectral Thiefing V-Create off of Contrary puts Mel at 418, while MMY is 416, allowing for a second hit in a row). Basically, Immunity to Moongeist Bream/Spectral Thief keep it from being hurt and keeps it Imposterproof, Photon Geyser is resisted, so Mold Breaker moves have difficulty breaking past Mel, and it serves as a great option to KO faster threats:

Meloetta lands 1HKOs against SpA sweepers. Here are the Calcs (and is able to survive many hits at 3HKOs)
Magic Guard Diancie-M's Light of Ruin
252 SpA Life Orb Diancie-Mega Light of Ruin vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Meloetta: 142-168 (35.1 - 41.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Pixelate Diancie-M's Boomburst
252 SpA Pixie Plate Pixilate Diancie-Mega Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Meloetta: 156-184 (38.6 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Meloetta's Flash Cannon
252 SpA Meloetta Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 252- SpD Diancie-Mega: 288-340 (94.7 - 111.8%) -- guaranteed 1HKO after Stealth Rock
New concept for a lead, inspired by E4 Flint and his Liquid Ooze set:

Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Entrainment
- Leech Seed / Spore
- Baton Pass / Infestation
- Toxic Spikes

Entrain Magic Bounce so Leech Seed targets you, Baton Pass to your Liquid Oozer with high HP, such as Zygarde-C (holding Leftovers), so you hurt your foe passively without having to use a move (indefinetely!) Zygarde deals 79 damage per turn (12.5% of 636 HP), while Blissey (it would use Leftovers so that's why I didn't opt for Chansey) would be 89 damage per turn. Use a Protect move like King's Shield, and they take 158 to 178 between landing hits.
-------------------------------------------------
Otherwise use Spore, Entrain Magic Bounce so Toxic Spikes targets your side of the field and switch to your Guts, Quick Feet, and Poison Heal teammates. Infestation is for damage and so they cannot switch to make Entrain wear off.
-Poison Heal + Assault Vest turns many 2HKOs into 3HKOs. -Quick Feet + TSpikes = Ray-M's Quick Feet + Flame Orb set, with better items such as a Choice Band, Choice Specs, or simply Leftovers, as Toxic Spikes allows Physical Attackers to avoid worse status in Flame/Toxic Orb.
-Guts + Choice Band hurts. Pheromosa outspeeds many Scarfers. Spore = Imposterproof, as you can see here in the 1st replay: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-775808107

A bulky, yet surprising sweeper comes from an unexpected “wall": The advantage here over Gengar is the extra bulk to set-up Shell Smash, and the fact it can use Mixed Sweeping to 1HKO threats like Regigas, Registeel, Dialga, Gyarados-M, Unaware/Fur Coat Tyranitar, etc. with Close Combat from Aegislash, whereas Gengar's Secret Sword's Base power is too low to accomplish the same, and in some cases even with Stealth Rocks: Aegi vs Gengar calcs:
Gengar-M
+2 252 SpA Gengar-Mega Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Regigigas: 336-396 (79.2 - 93.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Play it like a Dusk-Mane Necrozma that needs to transform to Imposterproof, except Aegslash underspeeds most hits with its bulk, and is always Imposterproof. Sludge Wave 1HKOs Audino-M and Xerneas with Stealth Rocks, Close Combat + Judgment 1HKO Regigas, Gyarados-Mega, Diancie-M, and Giratina.
+2 Smash DamageCalcs:

Now, at it’s true power- 2 STAB Mold Breaker Moves that cover each others’s weaknesses to 1HKO: Dusk-Mane, RegenVest Solgaleo, Aegislash, Audino-M, Xerneas, Fur Coat Tyranitar, Giratina, Yveltal, regardless of their Defensive Ability or item. Plus, having mixed offensive capabilities allows you to throw in Close Combat for Normal Types, Steel Types, Dark Types, etc. that would normally resist 1 or both STAB moves, such as Arceus. The important thing to remember, is that Aegislash is the only Steel/Ghost type, and thus cannot be outclassed in performing this role. If you have set-up and haven't been hit after Shell Smash, due to the 1HKOs, then you can even send it in later on which will cause it to revert back to its shield form, where it is bulky, and able to set-up once again. With a neutral Speed nature, it speed ties with Deoxys-A after a Shell Smash, surpassing Sceptile-M, MMY, and most of the metagame at large.
+2 Smash Damage Calcs:

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Solgaleo: 491-580 (102.7 - 121.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Giratina: 439-517 (87.1 - 102.5%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock (it dies with or without Assault Vest).

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Sunsteel Strike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Audino-Mega: 634-749 (154.6 - 182.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Sunsteel Strike vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Yveltal: 422-499 (92.5 - 109.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Arceus: 481-567 (108.3 - 127.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Even Zygarde cannot call himself a true Counter:
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Zygarde-Complete: 352-415 (55.3 - 65.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Spore / Lovely Kiss
- Blue Flare

this set is a great early to mid game setup sweeper that can punch holes in opposing teams. freeze dry + blue flare is pretty much unresisted coverage (you hit ff steels, unaware, and shed thanks to turboblaze), and although freeze dry is relatively weak even at +3, the z move gives you a one time option to basically just delete a pokemon. it's kind of inconsistent but it's really fun when it works.

psea steels imposter proof because turboblaze doesn't go through weather. you can also try fire types that aren't neutral to freeze dry but those are mostly bad.

ph pheromosa. this is a viable alternative to ph mmx, trading bulk and some power for benefits like stab uturn, outspeeding mmy, and no psychic typing. it does really well against bulkier teams that rely on mmy as their form of speed control. the moves are fairly straightforward. cc is chosen over low kick to do more to audino (losing defenses doesn't matter much against pretty much every target except arceus).

comatose meloetta

SHWODOWN DEVLOPER (Meloetta) @ Leftovers

Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psystrike
- Spectral Thief / Worry Seed
- Recover
- Defog

i haven't really found a good team for this pokemon but it looks interesting. it can handle ph ogre/xern, carrying a helpful status immunity, but it's also maybe the best gengar counter in the game. comatose means you can't get hit with entrainment or sleep, and thanks to the +spdef nature, even adapt sludge wave never 2hkos after rocks + leftovers. (watch out for specs though)

spectral counters boosters like contrary mmy and sash gar while worry seed prevents regenerators from chipping you with uturn and not losing hp. psystrike is chosen because it's strong and hits through qd boosts.

this meloetta is actually a very good defog user. tspikes aren't a concern, and although uturn is kind of annoying you aren't in real trouble unless they have knock.

ph snorlax

there's been a lot of hype around ph slaking recently but none for my boy, the og from aaa. basically it works because it underspeeds all core enforcer users besides ferro/msab, so they have to use entrainment or worry seed. additionally, snorlax has solid spdef, so after a few coils it can be kinda hard to break.

the team i used this on was a meme so idk how good it is but it's probably not that good. use at your own risk

ok this might look dumb but mega gengar is hands down the BEST SPINNER IN THE GAME. it can't get poisoned by tspikes, and all the ghosts lose to judgment (except shed, but they only stall you out if they have 2 sheds). giving up normalize gar's ability to sweep late game and hit normal types with something stronger than rapid spin is kinda lame, but the sets belong on different teams anyway.

man people in the central resource thread are like "SaBlEyE hAs LoW bUlK sO iT sHoUlDn'T rIsE aBoVe C rAnK" like they out here switching ph audino into specs ray or something. this mon isn't much of a wall outside of ph regi and some mmx sets, but like 95% of defensive mon stuff is doing 35 max. you can bring in sab on most fat mons and almost guarantee the slow uturn.

wish is pretty heat because sometimes you can wish up an offensive dude which is cool. spiky shield is nice to activate orb, take the edge off attacks, and prevent choice wallbreakers from being dumb to deal with. core enforcer is for ph regi and as a general damage dealing move. i guess you could run worry seed there to hit ph xern on the switch, but dude the play there is uturn anyway.

ph kyub

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shift Gear
- Avalanche
- Plasma Fists
- Sacred Fire

ph kyurem always seemed interesting to me, because outside of its horrendous core enforcer weakness it was almost on par with other ph users. to get around core enforcer i first considered mirror coat, but that would take up a valuable moveslot for indirect damage. then i remembered that avalanche was a move.

plot twist, the set is horrible. thanks to dumb mechanics, avalanche doesn't get the boosted damage if the mon u turns into a different mon (???). even if you get a shift gear up, offensive mons still live a hit (you can't use avalanche because it's negative priority). ever seen a kyub checked by ray?

i still think there might be some hidden potential in the set, but right now it sucks. unfort.

i experimented with a few variants of the ph kyub above. subpunch seemed kind of cool, but its attacks were too weak. luckily a better ability fixes this issue, with focus punch 2hkoing imposter. leftovers are really nice to have with the extra turns in sub gives you and the amount of switches kyub forces.

- Electro Ball

electro ball is one of the most heat moves ever. i was scrolling through the moves by power and electro ball came up and i decided to investigate it thinking it capped at 120 but NO IT CAPS AT 150 LIKE GYRO BALL. in a meta where minimum speed mons like regenvest ogre/yveltal and mega audino are a thing this is really good. surge surfer prevents mmy from revenge killing you, plus it increases electro ball's power by increasing your speed. king's shield is for fakespeed.

ghostium z is the preferred option because it lets you nuke stuff like giratina (at +0) and regenvest dialga, but spooky plate judgment is an option if you hate imposter.

pressure stall mega aero

Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spiky Shield

ok i originally had this set with a qd ogre but i scrapped it because it was walled by pdon which was annoying. so then i searched moves with lots of pp, no immunities, and at least 80 power. drill peck seemed pretty heat because aero was fast and could beat any steel without anchor shot.

in practice the set didn't really work out, because games almost never got to the point where opposing mons actually ran out of pp. the replay below was pretty nice though.

from what little i understand about the meta, i'm convinced this is broken in oras bh.

weird movesets on chansey
chansey is an underexplored pokemon in my opinion. it's so easy to slap on metal burst/uturn/soft boiled/defog or whatever, but i think there's more potential. here's stuff i've found:

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Fur Coat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Slack Off
- King's Shield
- Infestation
- Spore

infest + spore chansey has one goal: to be really annoying. spore chansey is very hard to take advantage of without very specific offensive mons, and the trapping provided by infestation is very nice because it means that ladder players can't just double around on you.

this set does lose out on beating defensive mons though, unfortunately. at least you do decently if they can't slow uturn out.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator

IVs: 0 Spe

the last 2 moves are kinda weird and variable but wish + regen chansey is a very cool mon. kind of like alomomola in standard, it can wish up a teammate but without consuming momentum itself. you do miss fc though.

imgur.com/zBbTip6 (Chansey) @ Eviolite

haze refresh chansey. i brought this to ompl w7 and it did like nothing so i'm explaining it here. basically it's an ultra passive mon that can trap and ultimately pp stall stuff like xern and ogre, and prevent normalize gar from setting up on you. i don't even remember why it has refresh in particular are people using toxic xern now??? maybe run like wish or even double recovery the tech

THE LINK IN THE NAME IS NOT FAKE CHECK IDM LOGS

drum ph mmx

drumpf (Mewtwo-Mega-X) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Photon Geyser
- Spore
- Belly Drum

i like to run this with another ph mmx that has the same set but with fighting stab>drum and maybe sr>photon. that way you get double the knock off plus you discourage dark types from coming in. anyway this basically lures in every defensive check for ph mmx (although you might need sleep turns to beat some bulkier unaware users).

the pdon counter we've been waiting for

- (Type: Null) @ Eviolite
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Heal Order
- Will-O-Wisp
- Spectral Thief

if you want a hard counter for every pdon set here you go. type null is immune to v create thanks to psea, and it's not weak to any legitimate coverage move. the best part is that pdon can't come in on it to refresh weather because type null gets forced out by every other pokemon. checkmate

uturn pdon

C. U. Later (Groudon) @ Red Orb
Ability: Levitate

Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe

a lot of people think that pdon shouldn't be pivoting because it's like your main breaker. but let's face it, you're not getting through giratina or zyg without one of those bad one-time sweeper sets that has 4mss between ff steels and shedinja. pdon baits in gira and zyg like crazy so it gives an insane amount of opportunities for mons like mray kyuw etc to come in. it's pretty cool.

real heat? god player? ladder hero? PSYCHO MANTIS? WOMBO COMBO???

GOATPRAS (Lapras) @ Icy Rock
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Wish
- Spiky Shield
- Whirlwind

if you're going to try to make hail stall a thing in bh, this is probably your go-to mon. lapras actually has extremely good bulk, at 130/80/95, comparable to mega audino. knock off removes goggles so more hail damage can be induced. whirlwind attempts to drag in offensive mons and gradually chip them down. spiky shield is kind of necessary so choiced mons that get dragged in through whirlwind don't cause problems. wish is recovery.

hail stall is completely wack so don't be surprised if it doesn't work. at the same time, with enough support... who knows?

specs mmy alternatives
if you read my posts, you know how much i hate specs mmy. it's not a good set. psycho boost as your stab is incredibly lame because a) it has an immunity b) it drops your spa c) it hits imposter for resisted damage. specs ray has none of these problems. be like specs ray.

LEGO MOVIE 2 VILLAIN (Necrozma-Dawn-Wings) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psystrike
- Moongeist Beam
- Psycho Boost
- Moonblast

if you're wondering what kind of niche this has over specs gar, it's actually psystrike, which allows you to bop regenvest ogre. this set is delightfully imposter resistant (read: they can't switch in until you click a move), and it has a stab nuke stronger than moongeist beam, which i always found disappointing in gar. the only real issue is the lower speed and spectral ohkoing you.

BIG MAN ON CAMPUS (Mewtwo-Mega-X) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psycho Boost
- Focus Blast
- Psystrike
- Moongeist Beam

specs mmx is a stupid mon because you're relying on focus blast to hit (secret sword is an absolutely terrible move and should never be used) but this set is pretty much completely unprepared for, and as a bonus you can actually bluff legitimate sets. imposter can kinda switch in but it takes like 50 i think

MK Ultra (Necrozma-Ultra) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psystrike
- Psycho Boost
- Blue Flare

the only real flaw with this set is reliance on one move to hit all steels (and to burn shedinja lol). draco is cool though because it lets you threaten out full hp gira/zyg otherwise they die, and also gives you a way of hitting psychic and dark types. unlike the other mons, unecro can actually ohko these things thanks to draco meteor's deceptive power:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Necrozma-Ultra Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 252 SpD Yveltal: 452-532 (99.3 - 116.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
(don't actually do this, they run +spdef sometimes)

252+ SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Necrozma-Ultra Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Imposter Chansey: 608-716 (86.3 - 101.7%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

the nickname is non negotiable btw if u run necrozma ultra you are legally obligated to name it mk ultra

to be fair, none of these mons are as fast as specs mmy or hit as hard with psycho boost. but in my opinion, their ability to bypass some of specs mmy's setbacks makes them better wallbreakers.

time for one last mon

silk scarf arceus

TRUE HEAT (Arceus-Psychic) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: ?
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest / Rash Nature
- Boomburst
- filler

- filler

so anyway one time i was on the ladder just minding my own business and this guy had an arceus. i sent in my prankster tangrowth and it took 85 from boomburst and i was like WHAT IS THIS SPECS but the guy told me it was itemless with normalize (???) which only gives a 20% boost. turns out that a 20% boost makes arceus broken. also turns out that there's another way of getting 20% without using the ability slot.

as you can see most of the set is blank because i haven't figured out the most optimal stuff yet. instead, i'll just show some calcs proving that the illusion suspect was futile and we should've suspected SILK SCARF this whole time.

252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Audino-Mega: 175-207 (42.6 - 50.4%) -- 94.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Zekrom: 225-265 (55.6 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO say goodbye to your very excellent choice band user
252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon-Primal: 220-259 (54.4 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Xerneas: 228-268 (50 - 58.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Poison Heal

and yes, all these mons get outsped, even if they're +speed.

shell smash?

+2 252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Mewtwo-Mega-Y: 396-466 (95.1 - 112%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
(mmx and mray are less bulky so they die too)
+2 252+ SpA Arceus Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Gengar-Mega: 370-436 (114.1 - 134.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
plus you turn all the 2hkos up there into ohkos. that's what ph xern gets for spamming lovely kiss

tail glow??

+3 252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Kyogre-Primal: 364-430 (90 - 106.4%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
+3 252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Registeel: 191-225 (52.4 - 61.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

you can reasonably reach +6 if you run sleep:

+6 252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 579-682 (82.2 - 96.8%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+6 252+ SpA Silk Scarf Arceus Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Kyogre-Primal: 390-459 (96.5 - 113.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

the only real problem is that boomburst is pretty mediocre coverage by itself. rocks steels and ghosts are all very much a thing in bh.

that's all for today

Going to drop a couple sets since I haven't posted here since Mummy Registeel.

Regigigas @ Choice Band
Ability: Normalize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Extreme Speed
- Pursuit
- Spectral Thief / Facade / Sunsteel Strike

This guy hits for massive damage. Choice Band combined with 216 BP V-Create can drop people quickly. V-Create is the main move to spam, but the ability allows for some utility as well. Extreme Speed for revenge killing or hitting faster frail foes hard. Pursuit to hit things hard once people see Normalize and start switching out. Spectral Thief is neat for the fourth slot to surprise boosting Normal types. Other options are Facade in case of status or Sunsteel if you hate Fur Coat. This can even hit resists hard, as it has a chance to 2HKO Steels.

Plus side is easy improofing with any Ghost type teammate. Keep in mind though, that this means you have to aim for the horn when up against a Ghost.
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas V-create vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Arceus: 393-463 (88.5 - 104.2%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas V-create vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Yveltal or Xerneas: 460-543 (100.8 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde-Complete: 357-420 (56.1 - 66%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas V-create vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Registeel: 167-197 (45.8 - 54.1%) -- 50.8% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Audino-Mega: 346-408 (84.3 - 99.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Normalize Regigigas Pursuit (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Audino-Mega: 154-183 (37.5 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Garchomp-Mega @ Life Orb
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bolt Strike / Power Whip
- High Horsepower
- Dragon Hammer
- Sunsteel Strike / U-turn

Put this guy on a team with web support and have fun. It hits Steels and Dragons very hard with some anti-stall STAB. It doesn't quite net the OHKO on bulky Zygarde, but it actually has a shot at OHKOing neutral defense Giratina. It isn't recommended to stay in on imposter, but if you have to, you can hit it for big damage too. Bolt Strike nails Celesteela but this coverage can make improofing a little harder.

This set maintains Garchomp's usual downsides of being decimated by most Boombursts and FakeSpeeds, so keep in mind that web support won't help you there.
252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Garchomp-Mega Dragon Hammer vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Giratina: 463-549 (91.8 - 108.9%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Garchomp-Mega Dragon Hammer vs. +1 252 HP / 252 Def Eviolite Imposter: 322-382 (45.7 - 54.2%) -- 53.1% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Garchomp-Mega High Horsepower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Registeel: 382-452 (104.9 - 124.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Blaziken-Mega @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Close Combat
- Ice Hammer / Knock Off
- U-turn

Surprise things like MMY, MMX, and Gengar for OHKOs. Adamant nature and the ability still allow it to OHKO things like Regigigas, Registeel, and Dialga as well. Unfortunately, the scarf takes away the power from the usual band sets and is unable to OHKO Zygarde. But this set is mainly about taking out offensive threats who are expecting to be faster and OHKO you.

Ice Hammer is for the bulky Dragons and Knock Off is for FF Aegislash, who unfortunately walls this set otherwise. Blaziken still doesn't like Diancie, who will FakeSpeed in its face for neutral damage and is a guaranteed 2HKO with Close Combat.
252+ Atk Tough Claws Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mewtwo-Mega-X: 387-456 (93 - 109.6%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Tough Claws Blaziken-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Arceus: 416-492 (93.6 - 110.8%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Tough Claws Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Audino-Mega: 330-388 (80.4 - 94.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal 252+ Atk Tough Claws Blaziken-Mega Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aegislash-Shield: 192-226 (59.2 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mewtwo-X/-Y/Deoxys-A/Necrozma-Ultra @ Life Orb
Ability: Download
-Photon Geyser
-Filler/Filler/Filler

Give this to anything with mixed attack stats, and photon geyser will automatically hit for +2 damage, on par with adaptability+choice without being locked. Would still need manual terrain support if you want it to sweep, but breaks random weakened mons just fine even without it

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Mewtwo-Mega-Y Photon Geyser vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Giratina: 247-292 (49 - 57.9%)

Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature

Z-Mirror Gives you a x2 attack boost, and uses the z-move of whatever move last made. Prankster means it always goes first, so it's a great wallbreaker/revenge killer

Champion Leon

Banned deucer.
The Greatest Showman (Slaking) @ Normalium Z
Ability: Dazzling
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 HP
- Belly Drum
- Mach Punch
- Extreme Speed
- Spectral Thief

The ultimate Imposterproof sweeper! Once you have cleared the opposing Dazzling users, and Normalize Gengar, nothing really stands in the way of Slaking, not even Imposter!

30 HP IVs for the odd HP number.

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Breakneck Blitz (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Eviolite Chansey: 705-831 (100.1 - 118%) -- guaranteed OHKO
All without a -Def Nature.

And if Imposter uses Struggle at +6 Attack, Slaking survives at 1/2 HP:

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Struggle vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Slaking: 221-260 (43.9 - 51.6%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

Something Regigas does not survive.

The power of this come comes 2 fold; Normalium-Z can be used as a last resort to KO Imposter thanks to removing the priority, and thus Imposter's Dazzling Immunity. Normalium-Z can also be used to survive a hit (like MMX's Superpower, as listed below), and Z-Belly Drum to heal, boost, and then KO the next turn with STAB Extreme Speed.

Spectral Thief, over Knock-Off for immediate coverage, while keeping full Immunity, and not worrying about losing power if a teammate used Knock-Off first.
Spectral Thief can also be used in a pinch against something it can survive to remove their boosts.

Mach Punch is for Prankster Haze Registeel, which I find to be more common than Prankster Zygarde, still, Prankster Giratina is another reason as, while it can survive Ice Shard, it may be worth it with hazards support, so both can be used interchangably.: Calcs:
+6 252+ Atk Slaking Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Zygarde-Complete: 620-732 (97.4 - 115%) -- guaranteed OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde-Complete: 564-664 (88.6 - 104.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes

VS Giratina-

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Giratina: 312-368 (61.9 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

VS Registeel

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Registeel: 264-312 (72.5 - 85.7%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes

In the event it is doesn’t carry Prankster:

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Spectral Thief vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Registeel: 297-350 (81.5 - 96.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock, 1 layer of Spikes
I chose Slaking over Regigas because it can survive MMX when it doesn't use Life Orb/Tough Claws, i.e. Toxic Orb Poison Heal, Safety Goggles + Contrarian.
This allows it to use Belly Drum-Z, and then either use Extreme Speed for the 1HKO. If Spikes is on the field, it can even 1HKO MMX at + 1 Def (Contrarian users). Calcs vs MMX:
252 Atk Mewtwo-Mega-X Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Slaking: 344-408 (68.2 - 80.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Mewtwo-Mega-X Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Slaking: 414-488 (82.1 - 96.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

1HKO
+6 252+ Atk Slaking Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mewtwo-Mega-X: 528-622 (126.9 - 149.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+6 252+ Atk Slaking Extreme Speed vs. +1 252 HP / 252 Def Mewtwo-Mega-X: 354-417 (85 - 100.2%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes
In addition to defeating Chessking345 to the point of his own forfeiture, (first replay), there are some additional replays for proof of its success against Coolman 217, whom placed within the top #33 BH rankings (see his declaration in the 3rd replay battle):

VS Chessking 345

My first draft team premiers to a victorious finish! (Pheromosa was used before I switched to Mewtwo-Mega-Y for more power, but I still won!) Slaking wasn’t even needed at all, whatsoever, but his team wouldn’t have handled it with what he had remaining... perhaps it’s sheer presence on the team contributed to the victory...

Coolman217

When you predict your way to victory and come back from 4 VS 2, thanks to Slaking, even with the likelihood not looking great!

Rematch, where I go all in with Slaking and come back from an Imposter sweep!

Adamant Nature
- Sunsteel Strike
- Play Rough
- Thousand Arrows / V-create / filler
- Shore Up

mega maw looked ok to me because it was like diancie/kart but without the choice lock, so you could do some cool things with it (in this set, shore up helps it act as a consistent defensive check to giratina and stuff). the set was kinda underwhelming because maw is frail and slow and doesnt hit that hard, but it was still fun at times

ph utility mmy

elon musk (Mewtwo-Mega-Y) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam / Moonblast
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psystrike
- Stealth Rock / Taunt

this is a cool mon in general, basic idea is that you wisp everyone to make uturn/spectral less threatening and get up rocks and psystrike frailer mons like ogre. ice beam ohkos mray and bops zyg but moonblast helps you beat dark types and beat imposter with spa drops so its a tradeoff. this guy has some bad matchups but if they have nothing for him (by that i mean no bouncers/defog ph/defog ff steels that withstand attacks) then its super nice

ph mray

captain falcon (Rayquaza-Mega) @ Toxic Orb

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Will-O-Wisp
- Brave Bird
- Mirror Coat

this set is less viable but its super heat. brave bird is surprisingly strong even with nothing backing it up, 2hkoing most stuff not weak to arrows. wisp beats shed and imposter. mirror coat is gimmicky but if you lure in the core user then you probably win idk.

i've been throwing this mon on some random teams that dont want prankster but also dont want to lose to drum and its been really useful honestly. the basic idea is that with double stab priority boosted by life orb, you can actually revenge kill a surprisingly high amount of things. kart/lonely dusk mane/mmx all die after drum, and mmy and mscept can also be picked off after a bit of chip. this mon is also a decent hazard setter especially with revdance, be sure to have something for imposter though

- Sunsteel Strike
- Spectral Thief

this is the best cb mmx set right now, bar none. basically nothing common switches into you, and the stuff that does (fc gira, cress/bro maybe) dies easily after chip anyway. all your moves are super spammable because of tough claws, with crazy stuff like ogre taking 45 from spectral. the only real problem is that this dude needs support to get in, but if you have that then you basically win vs stall and balance. imposter proofing can be hard tho not gonna lie

regenvest aero

kind of a meme mon, but regenvest aero switches into a lot of stuff relatively easily, like mmy (not bolt strike), gira, scept, and even specs ray, and can beat lots of slower frail guys. icicle spear breaks triage ray's sub and scept's sash so you can kill them. this mon almost 6-0s the sceptile sample team if that means anything lol

one of the most enigmatic sets in the game. you have the mega aggron. you have the leech seed. you have the fire punch. you have the leftovers. by all accounts, this should not be a good pokemon. but if your opponent doesnt have ph waters or whatever the kids are using these days, it can actually be so annoying to deal with. aggron is just bulky enough to not be forced out by most stuff, and guys are either getting leech seeded or hit super effectively by THE PUNCH. over long games you can even feasibly fish for fire punch burns (it has 24 pp) which makes it even more lame to deal with. usually bad vs stall but can be a nightmare for some balances. btw dont listen to zovrah, i came up with this set not him

this mon is super unwieldy but it has pretty much no true counters outside of yaboi shed. +3 hurricane does like 80 to aegi or something wack. before i had sheer force>no guard and modest (ohkos regenvest ogre at +3!!!!!!!!!) but i kept missing hurricanes so the set just went here to die.

Bold Nature

- Stealth Rock

this has to be one of the best sets i've ever used. unless youre facing some cheesy offense, it just does so much every game. even if your opponent has a bouncer that eats scalds, like giratina, you can just burn him and knock off leftovers. then after it dies, you get rocks up, then sweep in the late game with qd. stealth rock forces a ton of switches (if they dont immediately go to the bouncer/defog user then they risk the breaker coming in and pressuring more), as do knock and scald vs mons that dont appreciate them. this guy needs a bit of support but nothing too extreme, would highly recommend

pretty neat tspike setter. anchor shot threatens anything immune to dtail except gear (which is passive anyway) and deals solid damage to all poisons except venusaur/pex or whatever. also self imposter proof which is always cool. you just dtail everyone out until you get somebody they don't want poisoned in, pretty simple. what you do with that poisoning, of course, is up to you

ph xern but it beats ogre and not steels. give it a try if you hate ogre maybe. lor helps out vs mmy and stuff, wisp means you actually beat ogre 1v1 (i think) and dont die to random spectrals. garde has no physical bulk L

its team protag from ompl. +3 silk scarf boomburst does like 70 to regenvest ogre, its crazy, but the lack of leftovers does hurt and prank/ttar is an issue depending on your last slot. still kinda cool though

encore is broken. not as much raw power as the other set but tinted lens means you kill resists and non resists alike with the power of your 200 decibel god. encore helps you set up and also beat prank in one moveslot. encore is broken

make no mistake, this is a wincon/mid-late game sweeper, not something you just lead with and expect results with. zap plate judgment is a super cool option, destroying ho-ohs/steelas/etc that thought they were safe. encore helps you get that crucial first setup turn although you honestly might not even need it, almost every team has some lame fat dragon or other passive dude that you can just take advantage of and force out.

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD

ok forretress is actually a viable mon. it has the same physical bulk as scizor and the decreased speed is honestly much more important than spdef considering that scizor hates taking on mons like revdance ogre anyway. just uturn out of everything and win man. scizor is still viable but i think an offensive set is better and im still working that out

Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Knock Off
- Spore
- Power Trip

this set is wack. outside of shed and T A N G theres nothing that can really handle it with any sort of consistency because anything prepped for spore is going to be taking tons from power trip, and everything with prank/unaware is able to get spored. even ph xern isnt reliable because power trip 2hkos and modest moonblast is only 31% to ohko back, and zyg is 2hkod by power trip as well. a scary mon to deal with if you dont have the tools.

mega maw looked ok to me because it was like diancie/kart but without the choice lock, so you could do some cool things with it (in this set, shore up helps it act as a consistent defensive check to giratina and stuff). the set was kinda underwhelming because maw is frail and slow and doesnt hit that hard, but it was still fun at times

i've been throwing this mon on some random teams that dont want prankster but also dont want to lose to drum and its been really useful honestly. the basic idea is that with double stab priority boosted by life orb, you can actually revenge kill a surprisingly high amount of things. kart/lonely dusk mane/mmx all die after drum, and mmy and mscept can also be picked off after a bit of chip. this mon is also a decent hazard setter especially with revdance, be sure to have something for imposter though

YVELTAL
252 Atk Groudon-Primal Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252- Def Yveltal in Electric Terrain: 247-291 (54.1 - 63.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I suggest using Roost on Yveltal, since you will outspeed Groudon-Primal and Tyranitar-Mega (Diamond Storm), and any Magic Guard Diancie-Mega or Aerodactyl-Mega that has been paralyzed by an ally. The type change can make a difference, and Roost is still uncommon enough for you to not fear Imprison like you would in Shore Up. Besides Scizor-Mega packing U-Turn, getting a weakness to U-Turn is often not going to dent it much (slow pivots are often UnSTABBED defensive in stats).
————————
Mawile

I think for Mawile, you are better off with Prankster as the base ability with Spore (granted you have Knock Off support), and Shell Smash. Substitute can be slashed with Play Rough, so you can Safety set up, and Sunsteel obviously works wonders.

The obvious advantage over Kartana is a base form change in abilities, an Immunity to Core Enforcer, Dragon Tail, and Draco Meteor, as well as a resistance to common coverage moves (allowing it to switch in and use Spore)- Ice, Dark, Bug, as well as Flying, and a better secondary STAB.
Once you Mega, you can sleep Dark-Types, as well as Dazzling opponents, plus you can Spore Imposter Chansey if switches in on the turn you use Substitute or Spore.

To show how it is properly used and how this is the optimal set, look no further than this replay, where it is facing a Groudon-Primal after being burned (this is before the ban, so it isn’t a Red Orb Groudon). It is able to face its literal perfect counter and show it up:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-571368244

———————
XERNEAS

Another correction for your sets posted: Use Shock Drive and Techno Blast on Xerneas, this allows it to keep 120 Base power after Knock Off, whereas Judgement is diminished to 100 Base power without the Plate.

The move is 120 Base power so even though the Drive doesn’t boost its power, unless you have multiple attacks of the same type, you are better off with the Drive + Techno Blast for Electric, Ice, Fire, and Water moves over Judgement.
————————
Your Aerodactyl-Mega could also just use Sandstream for the +SpD, and replace a move with Shore Up to heal 67% under the weather. From there, you could use a more valuable item like Safety Goggles or the weather extender item.

Optimal (Aerodactyl-Mega) @ Safety Goggles

Jolly Nature

- Icicle Spear

DIANCIE-Mega
From there, you could give your Dianice-Mega Sand Rush and Life Orb do you could boost all of its attacks by 30%, double its Speed, and give Diancie-Mega +50% SpD.

No Choice Scarf lock, no fear of Knock Off, and always use an offensive Nature.

Here is a 6-0 sweep vs HeadinjaShedinja

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-848189938

Option 1: Tough Claws = Boost everything. Multi-Attack, Extreme Speed, Mach Punch is useful to hit things while being Imposterproof.
Option 2: Dazzling = Imposterproof, Triage/-Ate proof, and enables you to use Extreme Speed, Mach Punch, Shadow Sneak to hit Prankster Giratina before Haze.
Option 3: Mold Breaker = Shadow Sneak, Extreme Speed, Mach Punch to bypass Unaware, Fur Coat, and Dazzling/Queenly Majesty
Option 4: Technician: = Ice Shard, Shadow Sneak, and Mach Punch to break all Prankster users (Zygarde, Giratina, Registeel), while also outspeeding Gengar-Mega (which Multi Attack does not do).

Countrarian (Dialga) @ Adamant Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Doom Desire
- V-Create / Baton Pass
- Shore Up

Quiet nature is to keep Defenses and Attack safe, while Speed will still be enough after a boost to outspeed Arceus and anything slower.

I came up with this idea after thinking Tail Glow was a waste of a moveslot, and that Dialga just didn’t hit hard enough. “Countrarian” is all about the Contrary boosts for the Final Countdown to Doom Desire.

I feel that Adamant Orb is needed for key KOs, and V-Create allows it to go mixed and sweep with the Speed Boosts and Draco Meteor, while Doom Desire simultaneously hits at the end of the turn to finish off any walls.

Here are some key Calcs:
Adamant Orb
Arceus
+2 252+ SpA Adamant Orb Dialga Doom Desire vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Arceus: 466-549 (104.9 - 123.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252+ SpA Adamant Orb Dialga Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Arceus: 433-510 (97.5 - 114.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Kyogre-Primal
+2 252+ SpA Adamant Orb Dialga Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Kyogre-Primal: 349-412 (86.3 - 101.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

RegenVest Zygarde-Complete
+2 252+ SpA Adamant Orb Dialga Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Zygarde-Complete: 618-728 (97.1 - 114.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
Baton Pass makes sense on the Adamant Orb Set, as you may end up losing your boosts to Spectral Thief on the turn you Baton Pass if you go last.

Shore Up is self-explanatory.
———
I discussed it with Willdbeast who thought of Lagging Tail to avoid Core Enforcer and Spectral Thief (the turn Doom Desire hits), and Overheat makes more sense for that item.

Dialga @ Lagging Tail
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Doom Desire
- Overheat
- Shore Up

Willdbeast thought of Imposterproofing with this:

Magearna-Original @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Anchor Shot
- Shore Up
- Spectral Thief

Which works by being immune to all moves, trapping, and Substituting on the turn Doom Desire would hit.

Unaware Kyogre works fine as well, and typically can fit on more teams.

Hey all, its about time for a new Mega Beedrill set. Tired of getting forced out by Giratina and Registeel? Say hello to my little set.

Beedrill-Mega @ Buginium Z
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Megahorn
- Gunk Shot / Poison Jab
- Sunsteel Strike / Bolt Strike / Move based on improofer

This Mega Beedrill set ignores the common walls that resist it, namely Giratina and Steel-types, by setting up and hitting hard with high BP STAB moves or nuking with Savage Spin Out. This set is a lot different from the normal Choice Band sets because it doesn't pivot and can potentially be a momentum drain. But once it gets the chance to setup, it can wreck some walls.

Megahorn is the most used move on the set as it is slightly more reliable than Gunk Shot and hits Steel-types. The Z move helps against Knock Off, Trick, and Encore and nets some OHKOs that Megahorn misses out on. Gunk Shot is there for things like Ho-Oh or Mega Blaziken if you aren't running Bolt Strike since they 4x resist Bug and it also has a poison chance to annoy things like Fur Coat Giratina. Sunsteel Strike helps it not be walled by Shedinja but Bolt Strike helps to hit Celesteela (I used Volt Absorb Cele to try to improof).

Based on the moves you pick, improofing can be interesting. Some options include Fur Coat/Prankster Giratina, Shedinja, Celesteela, or Aegislash.
Here are some calcs for the Z move. +2 Megahorn is a guaranteed 2HKO on all of these threats
+2 252 Atk Tinted Lens Beedrill-Mega Savage Spin-Out (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 438-516 (86.9 - 102.3%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
+2 252 Atk Tinted Lens Beedrill-Mega Savage Spin-Out (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Registeel: 372-438 (102.1 - 120.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Beedrill-Mega Savage Spin-Out (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Arceus: 480-565 (108.1 - 127.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-878751291 - Turn 2 Bee gets a nice OHKO with the Z move

While I have you here, I'll talk about a couple more sets but not as in-depth.

Mewtwo-Mega-Y @ Leftovers
Ability: Dazzling
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Photon Geyser / Psystrike
- Moonblast / Ice Beam
- Secret Sword
- Strength Sap

Semi-support MMY might sound kind of weird, but it has helped me straight up win a couple different match ups. Dazzling protects MMY from FakeSpeed, Triage, Prankster, and Sucker Punch while Strength Sap and Leftovers give MMY stupid longevity. Photon poops on Shedinja (and Dazzling stops priority if MMY is low) and is powerful STAB in general. Psystrike is an option if you have other ways to deal with Shed. Moonblast is nice coverage for Dragon- and Dark-types as well as MMX. It hits surprisingly hard for not being STAB, 3HKOing Giratina. Ice Beam is an option that's a tad weaker but hits Mega Ray and Zygarde-C much harder. Secret Sword is nice for hitting Mega Ttar, RegenVest Dialga, and Normal-types.

Gengar-Mega @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Normalize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Entrainment
- Knock Off
- Judgment
- Psystrike

Tired of your Normalize Gengar getting walled by Fur Coat Chansey? This set will help out. Most Chansey's will either Whirlwind, Haze, or Topsy when NormGar uses Entrainment on them. This set uses Entrainment to stop Metal Burst, Knock Off to rid Eviolite, and Psystrike to hit where it hurts. This Gengar is still fully self-improof and is a solid disrupter against non Magic Bounce walls. Psystrike is also useful for hitting RegenVest Primal Kyogre harder than Boomburst does.

252 SpA Normalize Gengar-Mega Psystrike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Chansey: 317-373 (45 - 52.9%) -- 30.5% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Normalize Gengar-Mega Psystrike vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Kyogre-Primal: 136-160 (33.6 - 39.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Double Strike (Zekrom) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Hammer
- Bolt Strike
- Sunsteel Strike
- Shell Smash

Zekrom is an underused mon in BH and has amazing unresisted dual STABs. This set varies from the Draco Plate Galvanize/Adaptability sets as well as the Banded Tough Claws sets which are more common. Some benefits over the more standard sets are that Guts hits harder than Adaptability and has a faux Choice Band without being locked into a move. Also Prankster Haze doesn't take away from the ability's power. The downsides include Zekrom's normal ones, like not great defensive typing and weakness to most -ate mons. It also hurts a lot worse to be hit with Core Enforcer due to the big attack drop. This set isn't self-improof even though your attack is boosted when Imposter isn't statused. However, almost any Mega Steelix set can improof this mon.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-849663685 - Turn 17 and on shows Zekrom doing work and forcing switches

Deoxys-Attack @ Focus Sash
Ability: Dazzling / Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpD
- Shell Smash
- Photon Geyser
- Spectral Thief
- Reversal

Lead, Smash, Snatch, Sweep.

If Imposter leads with you, 1HKO with Spectral :
252+ Atk Deoxys-Attack Spectral Thief vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Eviolite Chansey: 1082-1274 (153.6 - 180.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reversal unstabbed is stronger than MMX with Close Combat/Low Kick/Superpower due to higher base power and an Adamant nature surpassing MMX’s Atk.

Deoxys-A is much easier to Imposterproof vs Scarf Imposter because unlike MMX, it’s Fighting move is at a low base power, so you could send in a dark type and not be threatened by Reversal.

Photon Geyser bypasses Unaware, Fur Coat, Sturdy, and can switch to SpA if you are impacted by King’s Shield or Strength Sap.

Spectral offers a speedy stop to a foe’s Sweep, and if outsped by the foe, it can use Focus Sash as a one time stop, and then Reversal the following turn with the newly acquired speed boosts.

For Dazzling, it helps vs Triage Rayquaza, and if it Spectral Thiefs a Tail Glow, it can go mixed with Photon Geyser.

For Tough Claws, Reversal and Spectral Thief can gain some notable KOs.

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Deoxys-Attack Spectral Thief vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 454-536 (90 - 106.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Deoxys-Attack Reversal (200 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Zygarde-Complete: 549-647 (86.3 - 101.7%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Deoxys-Attack Spectral Thief vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Lugia: 430-506 (103.3 - 121.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reversal breaks the Dark Unawares such as Gyarados-Mega, and Yveltal:

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Deoxys-Attack Reversal (200 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Unaware Yveltal: 324-382 (71 - 83.7%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Deoxys-A hits harder than MMX and MMY if given the proper +Atk/+SpA nature, while outspeeding MMX at 399 Speed.

A similar Simple variant lies here:

Deoxys-Attack @ Focus Sash
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpD
- Shell Smash
- Stored Power
- Power Trip
- Reversal

If your teammates have handled the Prankster Hazers on your foe’s team, even Unawares will falter thanks to the high Base power of all of the moves, each hitting at least 200 Base power.

Deoxys-A is arguably the best Simple user due to its high speed, equally strong 180 Atk and SpA, and low bulk which allows it to take advantage of Reversal (which pairs well with Dark and Psychic).
Hoopa-U has a weaker Stored Power and Reversal, but a Stronger Power Trip, and is the only one able to fight for the best spot as a mixed Simple user.

I am concerned Beedrill-Mega, being frail and susceptible to Priority, would have difficulty using Swords Dance, and living to tell the tale. How do you handle Priority with your teammates? Rayquaza is everywhere, and unless it is Contrary, it always packs priority.

Why not just use Tough Claws and Life Orb on Zekrom? This makes it a 1.3 x 1.3 = 1.69 or 69% boost rather than only a 50%. Ferrothorn can also Improof it for your team.

Guts might be better on a faster Normal-Type like Lopunny-Mega because it can use Facade, and if it switches into a move like Toxic or Spore, it has the Speed to go first and threaten whatever will use it thanks to 210 Base power, or if it is a Steel/Rock Type, then STAB Close Combat.

This also negates the need for a setup move in the fourth slot, so it can effectively carry Spectral/Knock Off and Sunsteel Strike/Ice Hammer. Although I still like carrying a setup move to outspeed MMY, Beedrill, etc. or to at least boost Attack a little.

252 Atk Guts Lopunny-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Registeel: 360-426 (98.9 - 117%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

252 Atk Guts Lopunny-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Arceus: 422-500 (95 - 112.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

I paired the Beedrill set with the MMY set I also included in the post. No Beedrill set stays in on Rayquaza anyway unless it knows it isn't priority. This Beedrill has the same frailty as banded pivot sets but the idea of this is to bait a switch into a normal resist and setup on the switch.

Oh, I often come across Dazzling Beedrill, some carry Band over Life Orb. Hm, in either case, as long as it works for your team.
Still, my point on Zekrom, I am led to believe you should alter the item and ability.

I'm here to share a set i had a lot of fun laddering with: Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom. I was tired of seeing Smash+Galvanize and was about to try something new into my teams.
Zekrom is an underplayed pokémon in BH, and its Dragon/Electric typing got my attention thanks to the ability to hit a great majority of the defensive metagame like dragons such as Giratina and Zygarde, Primal Kyogre, Mega Gyarados, (Flash Fire) Celesteela and Yveltal. Besides this, Adaptability+Band makes it hit like a truck pokémon like Registeel, Aegislash and Arceus.
I picked Adaptability over Tough Claws because I appreciate the more damage from STABS against targets, as Bolt Strike or Dragon Hammer is the moves we want to use 99% of the time (Uturn serves as pivoting and Sunsteel is because Shedinja). Obviously, this set benefits a lot from rocks, turning many 2KO's into OHKO.

252+ Atk Choice Band Tough Claws Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Kyogre-Primal: 390-462 (96.5 - 114.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom Dragon Hammer vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 456-540 (90.6 - 107.3%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Registeel: 306-362 (84 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Yveltal: 772-912 (169.2 - 200%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Yveltal: 388-460 (85 - 100.8%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 240 HP / 252 Def Arceus: 362-426 (82 - 96.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Tough Claws Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Xerneas: 376-444 (82.6 - 97.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I climbed to 1600s using the team presented on these replays which pairs that Zekrom with a Choice Specs Tinted Lens MMY that grants me advantage against some steel types like Ferrothorn and is a fast attacker that can deal with Rayquaza, Mega Gengar and Diancie.

this set really should just be tough claws, the difference in power on the stabs is minuscule (literally a couple of percent) and it makes sunsteel and uturn so much stronger

Topsy-Turvey is an amazing but underrated move. I find it useful in BH to counter Substitute Setuppers with Baton Pass as well as the dreaded Contrary sets. I like using Marshadow for this for some reason. Here's my most recent set with this.
Marshadow @ Focus Sash
Ability: Infiltrator
- Spiky Shield
- Spirit Shackle
- Topsy-Turvy
- Storm Throw
The main move is Topsy Turvy, which I detailed above. Infiltrator goes great with it to get through Substitutes. Spiky Shield allows for protection against physical moves, necessary on the frail Marshadow. Focus Sash is on there for the same reason. The attacking moves are Spirit Shackle and Storm Throw. Spirit Shackle locks them in and is it's ghost STAB attack. Storm Throw is it's other STAB and it always crits, so if they have Magic Bounce you can still get past defense boosts.

Sure, it's mostly deadweight against offensive teams, though Water Shuriken CAN hurt. And sure, it needs a ton of team support, between requiring rain for the nutty calcs and not being too fast. But when it gets in safely against something it outspeeds, something on your opponent's team fucking dies.

I have to say I run a similar set with Ash-Greninja in Balanced Hackmons. I use Origin Pulse, Dark Pulse, Ice Beam, and Aura Sphere paired with Mega Launcher.

I have also run similar Water Spout, Steam Eruption, Night Daze, and Ice Beam variants with Primordial Sea!

I love how you made a Physical Wall-breaker a newly minted Special Wall-breaker!

I like this new set:

Mewtwo-Mega-X @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Refrigerate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly or Hasty Nature
- Belly Drum
- Photon Geyser
- Close Combat
- Extreme Speed

Bluff Unburden with Sitrus and Belly Drum, which scares them out of sending in Imposter, (and ironically prevents them from scouting your set). Now, let them send in their Prankster Haze Giratina, or Zygarde, and then boom- 1HKO with a faster Refrigerate Extreme Speed at +6.

Sitrus Berry works to allow a second Belly Drum, if you need to switch out, and Close Combat threatens other Prankster Hazers such as Registeel.

Sturdy, Fur Coat and Unaware, are bypassed through Photon Geyser, while you can Imposterproof with an Unaware Sableye-Mega.

The nature can be Hasty in the event you fear Burn, King’s Shield, Sap Strength, Topsy Turvey ruining Attack, letting you still sweep off of the Special Attack stat via Photon Geyser.

A Hasty nature to Lower Defense also means Imposter will take more from you if they switch in, in addition to Spectral Thief from Unaware Sableye-Mega.

Okay everyone, I cannot believe it but I found an amazing set that works well in all ladders of play. This set is able to handle coverage on everything besides Ho-oh, and Celesteela. I absolutely love it, and it can even handle Imposter.

Key coverage sets up my team for victory-
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7balancedhackmons-908752429
With 2 attacks, it threatens to KO the entire opposing team.

Magearna @ Earth Plate
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tail Glow
- Moonblast
- Judgment
- Shore Up

Pretty self-explanatory, as Magearna is only used over Xerneas due to a Steel-Typing, allowing it to survive Imposter hits, and use a strong coverage Judgment Plate against it. As PHeal Xerneas relies on gradual set-ups, I find the considerably faster offensive play able to pay off. In fact, in the first replay you can see what happens when Xerneas and Magearna face off by setting up at the same time. Sometimes offense is the best defense.

Having a resistance to all common -Ates as well as Triage from Rayquaza-Mega is helpful in getting to sweep in the face of resisted Priority moves. Not to mention Judgment covers Diancie-Mega, while Moonblast covers both Kyurems and Rayquaza-Mega.

Imposter Calcs:
+3 252+ SpA Earth Plate Magearna Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 366-432 (51.9 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+3 252+ SpA Chansey Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Magearna: 153-180 (42 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
You are guaranteed to KO the Imposter before they KO you. Plus, if they switch Imposter in, you gain +1 Speed at the end of the turn, while they do not. Speed Boost does not give the boost unless the Pokémon has been in the match for the full duration of the current turn. So they have to send Imposter in after a KO to gain the most recent Speed Boost via Imposter triggering, or double switch to send it in when you send it in.

In this case, I encourage you to try out this set for yourself, and experience how simple, yet surprisingly effective it is.
