I was theorybuilding a while ago but I just want to know what'd happen if you had both Pixilate and Liquid Voice active and you use Hyper Voice. Does it become a fairy move? A water move? Both? And if we had legitimate ways to obtain Pixilate + Galvanize, for example, would the one that became active last overwrite the other? Sorry if this has been asked before!
My guess would be that the first one activated takes priority.

An interesting take that the coders could also take is that they fuse both types, making a flying press-like water and fairy move.

Or just a 50/50 coinflip but that's boring >:(

Libero has been released.

The combination of Libero and Adaptability gives a pretty insane boost to every attack, while simultaneously allowing Pokemon to leverage their movepools for increased flexibility and unpredictability. Cinderace is also not a problematic Pokemon to put on your team. It's fast and decently strong , and comes with a good movepool, including priority.

I don't know for sure whether this ability will directly be broken, but it definitely merits a look next time this meta has a ladder.

Honestly, go for Libero.
I would probably use Raboot just so my teammates can get an incredibly powerful ability on offensive teams.

Yeah, Libero needs to be banned approximately last week. It’s downright unreasonable for every Pokémon on a team to get STAB on everything, especially with Adaptability running around.

DLC finally dropped like a brick to our heads and one mon I've been thinking a lot about is Talonflame.

remember gen 6? (Talonflame) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Hurricane (?)
- Will-O-Wisp
- U-turn

Gale Wings is something to watch out for, but it's not that broken compared to its Gen 6 days, requiring you to take no damage whatsoever in order to activate it. Well, that's a lot easier with HDB! Since most mons on your team will be able to abuse Gale Wings very well (Scizor gets Technician + Dual Wingbeat, so it's a good Gale Wings abuser and gives its teammates priority 90BP Aerial Aces), you'll want to make sure they don't take chip damage from SR, so it has HDB + Defog. Hurricane doesn't deal recoil damage and Talonflame's SpA isn't absolute trash (it's just regular trash). Will-o-Wisp shuts down Physical attackers and gives this thing some actual utility on its own. U-turn is U-turn.

I have ZERO idea of how viable Talonflame is or if it's any good (especially since most teams run Queenly Majesty or Psychic Surge anyways) but I miss seeing this thing everywhere after the nerf hit. Regardless, it definitely has a niche.

Dhelmise @ Power Herb
Ability: Steelworker
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Def / 80 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Phantom Force
- Solar Blade

Hitmontop (M) @ Wide Lens
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Bulldoze
- Aerial Ace

Barbaracle @ Zoom Lens
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Def / 80 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Cross Chop
- Liquidation
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

Crawdaunt @ Quick Claw
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Aerial Ace
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

Conkeldurr @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch

Lucario @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Drain Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch

Obviously if there's just one Tsareena on the enemy team this whole team falls apart, but it's fun and gimmicky in the meantime.
Lucario's Bullet Punch (40)
xTechnician (1.5)
xTough Claws (1.3)
xAdaptability (2)
xIron Fist (1.2)
=187.2 Damage
Also with Choice Band and Steelworker, attacking stat bumps up to 787, with Inner Focus to ensure Intimidate doesn't diminish it

Probably not viable, and I don't feel like building a team around it at the moment, but fun to think about: if you have Urshifu-Rapid-Strike on a team with Sniper + Drizzle + Technician + Adaptability + Tough Claws, you can reach an effective 987 base power on Surging Strikes. Add in a Choice Band and you can OHKO nearly anything, even double resists like Dracovish (as long as it isn't max def and doesn't have Water Absorb) or tanks like Fur Coat Mew.

Speaking of fun but not particularly viable teams that abuse technician + sniper + guaranteed crits, here’s a fun team I built a while ago (that isn't updated at all for the DLC so be warned that it definitely won't be good). https://pokepast.es/6542d8443f853e16
:Cinccino: :Seismitoad: :Salazzle: :Mareanie: :Roserade: :Inteleon:
This team is built around poison point + merciless with tech, sniper, skill link, and corrosion also being used.
It's a very fun team to use when it works, and if you can set tspikes and your opponent can't remove them easily it can be very scary. Dragapult makes you extremely sad (though if it's not boots then it's not that terrible.) Band Cinccino with poison point and merciless is fun.

It is also classified as a punching move, so Iron Fist also works with this move too. Although, not the best option, still viable.

Not completely sure if this is the place to post replays, but I tested your team, here you go:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/rom-gen8sharedpower-886728-ycclgwvpw2brssvfnp5gidm1jey5w06pw

Urshifu's Surging Strikes (25 x 3 x 1.5 = 112)
x Technician (1.5)
x Adaptability (2)
x Tough Claws (1.3)
x Rain (1.5)
x Sniper (1.5)
= 982.8 damage

How is Urshifu not banned? Am I the only one who thinks Surging Strikes is better than Wicked Blow?
Surging Strikes can deal way more damage, but then again there are several abilities for water immunity with decent users.

So DLC 2 dropped a couple days ago, and there is some major new additions to the meta. Instead of going to bed at a reasonable hour, I'm gonna point out a few basic observations about them.
:celesteela: Beast Boost, Chilled Neigh and Grim Neigh have all arrived at once, and I think this puts us at critical mass for stat boosting abilities. In combination with Moxie or Soul-Heart, you can easily build a team such that every time you get a KO you gain +3 in your attacking stat, or +2 with +1 Speed.
:dragonite: Multiscale is back, and it has great combo potential with Fluffy+FF, Ice Scales, Regenerator, and/or Prankster. Can be a great addition to both Bulky Offense and Stally teams.
:regigigas: New Regis are here, and they brought Steelworker clones for Electric and Dragon types. I thought Regieleki + Xurkitree would be a near unstoppable combo, until I remembered that Volt Absorb and co exist. Regidrago has no such cavoite, and it can buff up some really powerful Dragon moves for it's scaly kin, like the newly released Scale Shot Garchomp.
:tapu lele: Tapu's have arrived, and we now have good users of all the Surge abilities. Lele will be an absolute menace with Adaptability Beast Boost Expanding Force. My favorite part about this is that my Steel Roller gimmick team is now much stronger against the Meta.

Lele doesn't have Expanding Force, but yeah, strong potential on the tapu even with game freak trying to keep them nerfed..
