Little things you like about Pokémon

uhhhhhhhhh...

(also you can find a Poke Doll in one of the beds)

SWSH added various sound effects for some actions (footsteps sometimes, wingflaps mostly) and apparently one of those...https://youtu.be/gA7Ma-hZDFY?t=230

Is when Klinklang (& presumable its earlier relatives) clanks against itself as part of its attack, it makes an actual metallic clank. I always thought that was just part of the sound design for the gear attacks but no its part of klinklang itself

It's a cute little touch, I think.

Why isn't the Gardevoir paired with Diantha? That seems kindof obvious. Instead its paired with a Doctor (ShSh) and along with Octillery (paired with a female Fisher) are the only two paired with a non-major character. I feel if they wanted a better mix they either should have had more non-major characters or made this set all major NPCs and had another set featuring non-Major NPCs.

I really like the contrast between summer in Undella Town and all the other seasons in regard to the themes that play there depending on the time in-game. They don't feel like versions of each other; they're two completely different tracks which give off two completely different vibes, reflecting the real-life tendency for resort towns to be bustling and thriving in the peak months and quiet, emptier sorts of places in the off-season.

That said, it's definitely best to arrive there for the first time in summer. Back when I first completed Black, it was Autumn in-game, and so Undella Town had the slower, downbeat melody for weeks and weeks afterward. It wasn't until a good long while later that I discovered the livelier version of its theme, and so I thought of it as "that depressing little place by the underwater ruins" for a very long time. I actually prefer the Autumn/Winter track more, but it's not depressing to me anymore. Very beautiful, rather.

At this point I am genuinely convinced that it is some sort of inside joke amidst all the active parties currently producing Pokemon media featuring mainline characters to depict Morty with literally any and every Ghost type EXCEPT Misdreavus. I am not even trying to be funny I truly believe this
Actually he did used Mismagius in Pokémon Stadium 2's Round 2 team (as Misdreavus), a rematch vs him in HGSS, Pokémon World Tournament, both in Johto Leaders Tournament and Type Expert / World Leaders Tournament. Not in Challenge the Champion Lance category, though.

He can make a Sync Pair with Misdreavus line in Pokémon Masters (EX), but cannot reach 6★ EX unlike Driftblim (of all Pokémon) or Banette (which can Mega Evolve). This is because Mismagius already had a full sync master, namely Fantina from Gen 4.

Say, I can imagine a rivalry between Morty and Fantina who the latter critizices the former of not represenitng the Misdreavus line well, the latter being the only new Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Johto, and the former arrogantly thinking she's a showoff and doesn't need something like Misdreavus to prove it... by using something sillier-looking but still sinister like Driftblim.

No I'm not about to defend these things (Simisage is dope but that's an argument for another day) but I do like how well their abilities fit them.

Gluttony: You get these Pokemon around the first gym, which is owned by 3 Chefs. I can imagine they eat a ton.

Torrent/Blaze/Overgrow: These Pokemon are meant to compliment your starter, so it'd make sense that they'd share an ability.

This has probably been noticed before, but I thought it was cool

The Tvtropes page for Black and White notes that most Hidden Abilities, being accessible from the Dream World, represent what that Pokemon dreams of being or doing. So Durant, for instance, being an industrious ant, gets Truant because it just wants a day off, while Eevee gets Anticipation because it wants to know what it will evolve into. Why do the monkey trio get the starter's abilities? Because they dream of actually being starters and being as lauded and popular as a regular starter trio would be. Quite a neat interpretation.

Durant dreams of breaking the Battle Subway in half.

I did some investigating into when the Mythical Pokémon were announced/released and found an explanation from Bulbapedia as to why Mew was revealed (sources included in article).
Bulbapedia said:
Mew was secretly created by Shigeki Morimoto in consent with Satoshi Tajiri as part of an internal prank at GameFreak during the end of the development of Pokémon Red and Green. Originally it was supposed to never appear in-game, but soon after the games were released players found the select bug which lead to the discovery of Mew. Rumors spread and they feared speculation about Nintendo having quality, debugging or management issues. Satoshi Tajiri felt that the situation couldn't be left as it is and suggested the idea of presenting Mew.
A Pokémon game having perceived management/programming issues? Say it ain't so!

Miyamoto: "Look Tajiri, the 64 and our first 3D Mario are releasing in a few months, we can't have people thinking we don't debug our games!" *flips table*

To put the timescale of the above events into perspective, Red and Green were released February 27th and Mew's existence was announced April 15th.
