I'm aware of that since I actually played the game but FF logic =//= Pokemon Logic so we can alway twist it around to say that it's hide is fire resistant.
Adaptability. When I first saw Porygon-Z I was excited because I thought we finally had a OU material Normal / Psychic.
Now I don't care if this pokemon ends up anything like Porygon-Z or not, but I still think a dual normal typed pokemon would be great, and Ghost / Normal would probably be my favorite combonation.
I think it should be a Grass type. Why?
Dark Plenty of great Dark ypes. Weavile/t-tar/absol to name a few
Electric Jolteon/vire/lanturn/manezone
Fighting Come on does there really need to be another fighting type? Luke/infernape/ etc
Fire infernape/heatran/arcanine
Ghost dusknoir/mismagious/gengar/etc
Ground dugtrio/donpahn/hippowdon
Poison Gengar/drapion/crobat
Psychic azelf/cresselia/etc
Rock Rhyperior/t-tar/cradily
Grass From the top of my head it only has 2 ou's. It needs some more better grass types.

I just realized I meant FFVIII. Oh well. Anyway, since the Pokemon is technically a Water creature, but stores oil inside its body, a Fire attack shouldn't ignite the creature itself.
This is sounding more and more like an Octillery evo.
I voted for Grass because it's one of my favorite types and because I have a wondrous but strange idea for a Grass/Steel tank.

Basically it kills small fish by snapping its claws so fast they produce lethal shock waves. Doing this creates a bubble that reaches temperatures of around 5000 degrees Kelvin when it pops.

That's true but like pokemon, FF like making things having weak weakness in an attempt to balance crap out.
Indeed and that's surprisly funny since I actually can picture it becoming a part fire type.
Sanjay~ Despite the fact I actually knew what a pistol shrimp was, it mostly likey be a Steel/Water.
Can we cap thing idea on the FFVIII Pokemon please? Its not a good idea. IMO at least. I think either the Jack-o-laturn, Chile Pepper and Pistol Fish are the best Ideas for a fire/grass and fire/water respectivly.
LOL, like any of your idea were good but the real reason why I shown that picture was because of what Justin said about the Fire/Water typing.
Pistol Shrimp doesn't scream Fire/Water unless you actually how it kills it's prey and what the mechanics of it.

You could make its claw flame to make it more apperent.
In POkemon, anything is possible.
Since Ghost seems to be leading, what are some Ghost combinations we can come up with, besides Ghost/Grass?
Ghost/Fire - Wisp-like creature (think the Bubbles from the LoZ series)
Ghost/Water - umm...a Ghost Ship? Make it just a bit smaller than Wailord.
Ghost/Fighting - spirit of a deceased fighting champion? Searches the world for strong opponents.
Ghost/Steel - Possessed suit of armor?
Ghost/Normal - The only way I can view this happening is by evolving a current Normal type. My vote goes to Stantler. Damn reindeer looks too happy to me. We should kill it.

A ghost/normal could be your typical ghost (floating moaning white sheet).
Everytime Sanjay keep pushing the idea of a freaking pistol shrimp for Fire/Water I keep thinking it's Kingler/Crawdant bastard child or a Water/Steel type? =/

I think the next poll depends on how much of a lead the winner has. If Ghost doesn't have an X% lead over the others, then the next poll might be between Ghost, Fire, Grass, and Dark. Once a winner is picked, all type combinations that haven't been used to death will be included.
I've never heard of that thing before, but I agree it's fucking amazing. Unfortunately, we have enough crab/lobster/whatever in pokemon. Kingler, Crawdaunt, even Paras is a crab and Parasect is really a hermit crab (where'd they get Bug/Grass for a hermit crab?)
As cool as that pistol shrimp is, I don't think we should make a pokemon out of it.
