Harry Potter Mafia II - Game Over

actually i was just fucking around when i said obi is mafia. you know, like most people were doing. god why are people taking that seriously.

also good catch on the pendejos thing. you're wrong (and i was gonna edit it out so you wouldnt draw false conclusions) for the record but i figured you'd have seen it anyway.

No Obi, I am sure Toothahce is right and you are wrong.

What I find odd is that Percy joined the good side again in the last book. Maybe you aren't mafia, but right now our best lead is what toothache said.

i dont see the evidence against obi at all. he was being lame and just saying random shit. and, in all honesty, what toothache supplied isn't the best lead.

it was said last game, and i whole-heartedly agree: when someone refers to the good side as "us", "we", or otherwise makes it seem like they're trying way too hard to seem good, they are usually bad.

that's my number one suspect.

I dont understand. What the hell are you supposed to refer to your side as? Should I just say "the students" as opposed to "we" or "us?"

I mean I dont see how the fuck a word can indicate a mafia or not

he could have just as easily said "at least they only got one" but threw in the "of us". for me, that's suspicious. i'm sorry if my thinking is too advanced for you. when you don't have "clues" like you do in Havak's game that clearly point out who did what, the next thing you go on is behavior. actually, in real life that's ALL you're supposed to go on. Mafia isn't supposed to be played with clues. it's like poker. you have to read people.

I guess I just dont. I will just have to trust you on this one but like sanjay said, it feels natural to associate yourself with your group by saying "we" or "us"

In fact, by your logic Sanjay should be our next victim too because he said "we" to refer himself to the group.

well, typically, if you're good then you don't feel the need to show it in your speech. i was saying that the people who force it, or try too hard to make themselves sound good by using "we" and "us", often times end up being bad. not all the time. i'm just saying personally i get suspicious. i'd rather read people's behavior then gamble on worthless "evidence".

It's not that you're referring to the students. It's when you go out of your way to refer to the students, in an otherwise unimportant post, that you could have just as easily not posted, and still contributed the same amount to the topic.

Well, I have no information on Toothache. You'd think I would know who my brother is.

To lynch me, you have to accept the following propositions:

1) I am mafia
2) They created a character that knows I am mafia
3) I don't know who they are
4) They are allied with the students

What this all means is that I am a useless character. I am pretty much guaranteed to be lynched day 1, if you accept all of the above as being true.

Or, you could just accept that aamto is a liar and wants to get me lynched, like he always does.

Which one is more likely?
The first statement I bolded is just as likely to be true as it is to be false, therefore making proposition 3 irrelevant. Furthermore, your character would be far from useless, as in exchange for two people on the students' side knowing one player who is mafia, that mafia can reveal who those two individuals are to their fellow mafia. Furthermore, the weasley roles have limited power, as they cannot (I presume) be admitted into the DA, and so cannot freely distribute their info among trusted people. One would be forced to come out into the open for it. In a way, the weasley (student) roles are worse than a regular student. Oh, and to humor you, I'll go through all of your propositions. 1) It's one person's word against another's, but you don't go pulling an obviously stupid stunt like that early on in the game if you're mafia; you get someone killed but die yourself, overall hurting your team more than anything, as now you're an even smaller minority. 2) Perfectly possible; last game, mekkah only made the weasley twins know who each other were, and he could have just as easily added a third player to that group. 3) I already addressed this; you could just as easily be lying about knowing who your "brothers" are. 4) The weasley twins were allied with the students last time, so why would it be different now?

This is assuming toothache was telling the truth, but going back to point one: it would be stupid to pull a stunt like this early on in the game if he were lying. The evidence is against you, but should it end up being wrong, we all know who to lynch next.

Actually I hadn't read the last book so I didn't know about Percy turning back to the good side (no other spoilers please).

If Obi really wants to help the students then he knows who Fudge is and should share that information with us.

Ok, so toothache you should probably pm the others who voted for Obi since you didn't realize Percy joined the good side again.

Anyway I am going to wait for who I vote.

I don't see how it's a "stupid stunt" that he did. Saying "hey fellow death eater" is one thing, but when the person you're talking to turns out to be a student (I know he could be DE later but right now he was a student), I think it's kinda obvious he's joking.

edit: to leafgreen

Hold on, whats this about the DA?

Is that another mafia group? I thought the two were Ministry (Due to the fact that Percy was accused) and Death Eaters (Due to the fact that people have mentioned Voldemort).

Yeah I played a risky game, but it's paid off since we have 2 likely suspects - aamto, and darkie. Apologies Obi, if I'd known the Percy role could be turned to the students I'd have PMed you and attempted to convince you.

Well, in the frame we have Kira, Darkie, Zenigame, Aamto, Obi and Sanjay. Due to the fact we have no clues, I guess those who will try and defend themselves will be a suspect. Also by knowing that Obi is Percy and would most likely know who fudge is, and Obi stands to take over if Fudge dies. So either way Obi is in quite the predictament with the ministry if anything and will most likely be a target.

As for Kira he was too quickly to jump on the bandwagon, this may he suggests he has something to hide, as did Zenigame, without any reason or logic he voted Obi giving him some thought that he might be the mafia, however with Kira being so open to inspection gives some doubts.

Aamto is in the frame due to Obi, and as Obi said by not fully believing in his 4 guidelines that would make Aamto a liar, however I believe that Aamto was likely to be sarcastic, however this should make him a potential target for one of the mafia's if he is indeed allied with them.

Darkie and Sanjay were both quick to protest their innocence and with this they will likely to be up for discussion or investigation.

So, what we have is a 6-way frame, with Obi leading the most votes out, I wonder how this one will pan out.

EDIT: Since I am unsure, I will reserve my vote to later
