Now that the Rillaboom event has been live for a bit, what are your favorite/favored sets for Rilla in SV? Obviously, it's lacking without Grassy Glide, but I'm working on an AV Rilla set.

Also regardless of intentions my issue with ur post was that Mfs with no qualification trying to put down people better then them, I’m fine with the bo3 but any team not just self made.
I 100% agree with this. If you don't have a good set of team building fundamentals, you're going to fail. Netdecking (netteaming?) a team is just taking a squad that someone else had success with because of their good team building and using it for yourself rather than building a squad on your own.Personally, I think a lot of skill in pokemon can be shown in the teambuilder, but okay cool.
dawg that is a prepostorous statement skill is in the team builder so build a team thats better then whatever team im using lmao. This is hilarious. I'm dying rn.

i run primarily my own shit but saying all teams need to be built soley for this is stupid and overall lowers the actual skill level bc lord knows im not gonna pilot some shit i made 20 mins ago up to par.I 100% agree with this. Most of my "skill" lies in team building/drafting. Probably 80/20 split on building/piloting for me, but that's just an internal assessment.

You are completely taking what I am saying in the wrong direction. No team is going to be perfect on the first run through. Everything needs tweaking and fine tuning. However, skill in the team builder is exceptionally important. Needing to keep common, high tier, threats in mind while designing a team, and knowing how to build around whatever Pokemon you want to pilot.i run primarily my own shit but saying all teams need to be built soley for this is stupid and overall lowers the actual skill level bc lord knows im not gonna pilot some shit i made 20 mins ago up to par.

That feels weird to have finalists just be like "Ayo, can someone build me a team?" Just feels wrong to me.Most people here do not build their own teams, it is a wholly different skill set and often doesn't translate as one-to-one between battling as it might seem. Having the schematic breadth to recognize all viable sets, of all viable pokemon, in all viable team compositions in a given tier is an unrealistic expectation for ALL players to have.
Using a team someone sends you doesn't make you less of a player or less skilled. Don't waste time in the teambuilder trying to address every incongruence or every weird lure that gets you. You will gain more experience and understanding of the game by taking someone else's team and laddering it. The teambuilder can be a trap that will limit your growth and understanding, because at least you have the reassurance that a team given to you is solid - instead of having to parse whether the game played out because of your skill or of the team being poor.
Don't make it into a superiority complex. Our best players ask for teams even in Finals.
Yup and what even defines "self made" if I switch one Mon on a sample team, or just tweak an EV spread or move, is that self made? Does using any known core negate "self made?" There's only a certain number of mons and archetypes. I see people in the RMT thread or stunfisk "rate my sun team" and it's always Torkoal, Hat, Wake, Tusk, and then some combination of Roaring Moon, Brute Bonnet, Ceruledge, and Lilligant-H... can one even "self make" teams of certain archetypes? Most people here do not build their own teams, it is a wholly different skill set and often doesn't translate as one-to-one between battling as it might seem. To be fair, a good chunk of PokeTubers use teams from others because it's easier content. If I got back into PokeTubing/Streaming, I'd still just be piloting my own squads, unless I was trying to understand how a team/specific Pokemon pick/set worked. But that's just learning.Well it happens, and in fact virtually every WCOP team was created as a group effort with lots of peer review and input from other players. High level players pass teams around all the time. Watch literally any blunder video, "this team was brought to us by x" comes up at least once

on the first part i had said the exact same thing and deleted the message as i found it pointless to try to argue, if i brought fucking german bax and made cinderace libero is my team now selfmade? there is no definition of it so its completely irrelevant, furthermore should someone feeling that a long standing rule of being allowed to use other ppls teams "feels wrong." in all honesty is completely irrelevant.Yup and what even defines "self made" if I switch one Mon on a sample team, or just tweak an EV spread or move, is that self made? 50/50 between u and spriteponyIdk if you're even talking about me anymore but I just want to retract the whole "self made" thing, it's not a problem for me if anyone uses anyone else's team, and it was only even a suggestion here.

Kricketune is coming to OU, tomorrow (I finally got the set ready)
Speaking of things to ponder - how do you all feel about offensive Ting-Lu right now? I've been running the following Ting-Lu set and it's been working wonders for me (kudos to Srn for helping with the variant of offensive Ting-Lu I use now)

Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ruination
- Protect
252 HP with 252 Attack and Adamant allows Ting-Lu to bluff a more passive role and when OHKO some prominent threats. The 4 speed EVs are to outspeed other Ting-Lu. Stone Edge is fantastic for dealing with Pokemon like Enamorus and Zapdos. Tera Type is Ground mostly to remove the Dark-type weakness against certain threats, but the power buff to Earthquake is pretty nice and does turn some of the listed 2HKOs into OHKOs.

Someone recently promoted Payback Ting-lu to me, I thought it was ridiculous but tbh it's the same BP as Earthquake if you get hit first
Ting-Lu post is meh. Kricketune tho... that's another story (for tomorrow)![]()

I like this Ting-Lu post, but I still think it should be a defensive tera, mainly because Walking Wake is always scary on Team Preview.![]()
