If this Giratina form is actually a different version of Girat, then it'll work like the Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green/RS Deoxys (because there's no data for that "form" in the DP games, as far as we know), so it'll only be available in the third version of the game. It doesn't look all that different to me, however...

Y'know, people always talk about Cubone's mother, but what about daddy-bone?
Anyone remember the alternate Darkrai form? The one with the spindly little legs? I don't recall that being anything significant. This Giratina change does seem more dramatic though. I like the change. Looks like he metamorphosized from a fatass caterpillar to a slightly less fat legless moth.
What alternate Dakrai form? I don't remember that...

I remember something about alternate darkrai, but it was confirmed to be fake I think.

In the movie, it showed Darkrai with long legs when he was standing on top of a tall building. Nothing more.
Am I the only one that thinks it resembles a centipede? >_> I guess it doesn't look that bad/it looks pretty cool, but I think I still like the old form more.

No. The games only have their exclusive Deoxys sprite and base stats. However, your Ruby didn't explode when you played against a Fire Red player using Deoxys because the game doesn't use Base Stats in Link Battles, only the "finished" stats. You know, that's why people STILL hack Pichus with 800 Sp. Attack and Fire Blast...
Hey, probably Game Freak allowed that again so our Diamonds/Pearls can fight this Giratina and not instantly explode!
What intrigues me more than anything else at this point is that they refer to the Giratina we know and love as the "Another Form," while the new one is called the "Original Form."
Original Form does look kind of... larvae-ish? Maybe it's a baby Giratina? Or maybe it's a "common" form, and the "normal" AKA "Another Form" Giratina is a one-of-a-kind deal?

It is exactly Rayquaza's body combined with the aspects of a Giratina.... It could be the legendary of the next game or a "fake" pokemon.
It's on the official movie site, plain as day. No way it's fake.
And why not? Deoxys could only have certain forms on certain games so there's no reason Giratina can't be similar.
I think it looks like a Chinese dragon also. It would make sense with his current typing anyway.
I actually saw this yesterday on Pokebeach. I wonder how PBR would handle it, since if that form was in there, it probably would've been found by people digging through data or something.

Seriously though, I think this will turn out very similar to the whole phione/manaphy relation. Some how with giratina, we recieve this thing with subpar/similar ivs. Which makes me think UU wall type thing. But then again, if it were programmed into the game wouldn't we know about it? If it is obtainable how would we get/use it?

EDIT: SWChill, you are wrong. If it were available this gen, why wouldn't we see any sprites? If your going to say, " When you transfer to opal it turns into that thing. " I highly doubt this because again, we would have seen at least a sprite with stats. (for when battling on wifi, we aren't going to be seeing a blank screen... )
Plus it would be unfair for opal to not be able to use Giratina.

but the world was in danger type of thing. So they called the "Leader" Giratina had saved the world, but with the cost of all its minions. So it hid in its labirntyh (Turnabck cave) only to come when the world is in danger once again.
Which then again makes me thinkg of zapmolcuno. Available in manga, but not in games, xD.

Someone told me the Wii can download update patches. Possibly, this apply to the games too, so slim Giratina may be downloaded by the PBR.
Either that, or we'll still see the four-legged Giraman.

When i downloaded my speed deoxys to pokemon coloseum (Keep in mind coliseum was made before FR, LG, or Emerald were made) it turned back to the normal form so its possible giratina could just do that when downloaded on pbr.

And frankly, it's such a waste of money to own the game (unless you won it for free like I did) that I actually don't care. I've played, like, maybe 20 online matches with this thing since it first came out. I think 16 of those were on the first night I had it.
I like that PBR battles aren't as ZZZZZZZZZZ-inducing as the DS ones, but they're only barely faster. There's more set-up time than on your DS, and yet another friend code to worry about. PLUS it's even more exclusive than WiFi on the DS since you gotta have a whole 'nother system and game. Lamesauce.
