    It's easy to check if you showed your togepi to Elm. Check to see if he has all three Elm calls that are listed for RNG on HGSS. If he does, you're good to go. If not, you could always see if someone has an AR and will let you use the code so you can receive the Togepi again. This might solve the problem, but I also recommend you beat the E4 again immediately after you get the new togepi from the AR code. Beating the E4 usually fixes any story glitches caused by making a story line pokemon re-appear in the game.
    I only do EV training and wiping for my own pokes.

    Yeah, try again tomorrow. But do you have an HGSS game? It's much easier to do perfect IVs on HGSS, so I recommend you switch to HGSS if you have a game. I won't breed on Platinum any more. I hate that game for breeding. The cowgirls are evil. Keep doing your RNG on that game, and you'll see why I hate them.

    yes. I am at a family get together right now and I am on smogon by phone and don't have my ds with me.
    Then yes, the happiness taps must be perfect, the number of coin flips must be perfect (but it doesn't matter if it's heads or tails) and you must have six pokemon in your party during the taps and flips. You must not accidentally go back to the happiness checker after doing your coin flips, so avoid having it show up after you do your coin flips. Do all the taps and flips after you capture your seed pokemon and then fly straight to the daycare and put your parent pokes in the daycare. Make sure you have the right parents listed on your method (international or normal).
    What are you trying to do exactly? Shiny egg? Egg IVs? A wild pokemon capture?
    The trick to succeeding at RNG is to keep trying. It's hard when you first learn it, but it's all the same stuff repeated over and over, so once you learn it, it will be easier. You just have to keep trying.
    I believe Bearsfan has videos. There may be links somewhere on the first page of the help thread. I haven't watched them, but give them a go anyhow. In fact, just go to youtube and search RNG and the game you are doing it on--- like RNG, HGSS, or RNG, Platinum. You might get more than Bearsfan's vids.

    You send a Pokemon that has your OT ID and you do not want back.....so as to not lose valuable Pokemon.
    AR and Pokesav are tools used to check things.
    I have a family get together tonight so not tonight. I can trade tomorrow night at 11pm..
    Its 9pm where I live. I won't be able to ev for a while because my AR broke and that is how I get all the vitamins. Sorry... :(
