Well, there are people with quite a few more analyses than three (I have four, for example), the point of the three analysis limit is so that people don't take on too much work at the same time and end up clogging the system. Since two of your analyses have already been QC checked and written, as you rightly say it means that you have essentially finished work on them. So, you can certainly reserve more, provided that a) you have no more than three analyses that you are actively working on at any one time, and b) that you will not end up being overworked when GP checks do come into force.
So yeah, that just about covers it.
I couldn't quite understand your question in the reservations thread. Could you explain it a little bit more clearly? (Posting here so as not to clutter the thread)

Looking over that thread, it appears that user Hatman has reserved it already, but as he has only ten posts and has not posted his thread yet, you could PM him and ask whether you can take over his reservation, post in that thread to make public that you have done so. If you don't receive a reply in a week, then you can take over the reservation, I guess. Then, post in the official reservations thread to formally reserve it, and I'll add it to the index.
