  • The point is when you want to start a conversation with a person, you dont do it by quoting wikipedia and saying "discuss it".

I recommend not starting new threads for a little bit til you get a better idea of what is expected..
Fate is getting annoyed by your constant VMs so you should probably stop unless you want him to remove your gonads and swiftly throw them into a blender. Also, you shouldn't be too sad about eliciting no response within 3 days, this is perfectly common-place considering people have better things to do than respond.

    Cordially, Harsha
heh, it is based on a visual novel made by 5pb and Nitroplus. Steins;Gate is another collaboration of the two. In my opinion, the Steins;Gate anime is much better than Chaos;Head, as Chaos;Head was a bit of a trainwreck. Chaos;Head the VN is much better than the Anime.
lol...Fatecrashers is a guy not a girl. I can confirm that myself. Second, yes I have watched Chaos;Head. What of it?
Well, if you feel you have the necessary knowledge to rate teams, you could try rating teams in the RMT forum. If you ever feel like you're interested in rating but need a push in the right direction, you can PM an official team rater and see if they are willing to help you out. A list of team raters can be found here.

Again, if you feel like you have a good grasp of competitive Pokemon knowledge, you can consider posting in the Smogon Metagames forums, in one of the subforums you're interested in, such as OU, LC, etc. Contribute by making intelligent posts and you'll be well on your way towards being known as a good poster!

If you ever feel like you need someone's guidance or help with competitive Pokemon, you could always sign-up for the next Battling 101 round, where you'll likely get paired with a tutor that can help you with the game and integrate you more with the community if you sign-up in time. The schedule for the rounds can be found here.

There's also The Smog, as you brought up. If you are a good writer, you can pitch an idea to one of the Smog staff members. If one of them doesn't reply, you should consider PMing another (for example, one of my close friends here, Setsuna, usually replies to PMs quickly, and he leads the magazine too). If the one you sent the PM to doesn't reply, they are probably busy, so there's no harm in asking another Smog staff member. Take the initiative!

Other ways to contribute are by hosting tournaments. If you have a good tournament idea, you can send it to one of the tournament directors for them to look at. Read the tournament rules for more info in that aspect.

Lastly, a good way to really get to know people is by visiting IRC, #dreamworld. Look here for ways to get there, and if none of that works, you can always use the simple to use mibbit.

Hopefully that gave you some ideas!
Well, I spoke with Texas Cloverleaf (the dude who posted in your thread), and asked him why it was locked. He said Dragonair isn't really viable and good in RU, which is why the thread was locked and rejected. When QC members deem that a set isn't worthy of an analysis / isn't viable, they have the right to reject it on the basis that "it isn't good". You are free to argue this point with them privately and present your case, though. However, I would just recommend trying again with another set you would want to write an analysis for instead of arguing with the QC members that rejected the set (if they rejected it, they probably had good reason to since they're experienced with the tier).

Also, you're not supposed to write-up an entire analysis before it's QCed. Skeletons aren't formal analyses. You're required to write brief bullet points that highlight the sets aspects, counters, move options and why those moves are used, why it's effective, etc. The QC members will then look it over, make suggestions where needed, and approve it, thus giving you the green signal to start writing your analysis, where Grammar Prose members will make edits to your formal writing. If they reject it though, none of this will happen, and the thread will just be moved elsewhere. You generally should not re-post a set that was previously rejected unless given permission by the moderators of that forum.

I recommend reading the General Information announcement to familiarize yourself with C&C procedure. Pay particular attention to the queue system, as that pertains to your situation.
C&C skeletons? I believe this is what you're looking for then.

You may also browse through the C&C forums to see examples of skeletons, such as this one.

    Good luck!
Sure, what do you need? And I got another badge so it replaced the pre-contributor one.
Thirdly, the analysis is written up. It then undergoes 2 Grammar/Prose checks before being uploaded on site. In the case of your analysis, while the write up wasn't horrible, it was below the par of what we would expect to go on site.

I hope I've cleared this up for you. I also encourage you to lurk the C&C forum for a few weeks to gain a greater understanding of the process, as well as reading the information threads, including Analysis requirements and spelling and grammar standards in preparation for another attempt in the future.

(We do appreciate your attempt, we just require all analyses to go through specific channels in order to keep our quality standards high. I personally can understand being new to writing analyses, when I first started my first analysis was locked for being too bare bones.)
Sure, this is the process our analyses go through when going on site.

First, the user posts in the appropriate reservation thread that they intend to write the analysis. In the case of RU, the reservation thread has a list of high and low priority analyses, of which Dragonair was the latter.

Secondly, the user posts a Skeleton thread, where they post bullet point notes of the analysis and sets they intend to write. This skeleton is then looked over by the Quality Control team for that tier, and additions and changes are made. Other users may also post with suggestions. Once an analysis has received 3 approvals it may be written.
well i've become a mod because i was really active on the server, always saying good things, helping the other mods, showing that i knew the rules, etc.
I'm sorry, I generally don't accept friend requests from people I don't talk to regularly.

But that might change in the near future if I get to know you better!

As for your question, I contribute to C&C by writing analyses, articles, GP checking, and now QCing, hence the "contributor" badge :P
basically i contribted some art to the smog and write for it too

i got my mod badge for being a moderator of firebot which is a pretty weird and incomprehensible process but basically your best bet re: questing for mods is to post appropriately in your chosen forum, be courteous, be helpful, and ingrain yourself in the community

    hope that helnped!!
