I am sure it will have some niche use as a stall breaker in OU, and it will definitely do well in the lower tiers but yeah mold breaker is not that useful for it. If I had to guess maybe there is some VGC reason that Gamefreak has in mind? I thought part of it might be that it beats Mega Delphox with eq but Mega Delphox will just kill it if it gets in safely.btw does anyone know if Emboar has any real use for Mold Breaker outside of "convivence"?
Like yeah, being able to Earthquake a Rotom Heat instead of using Close Combat is nice. But it's not like it changes the match up that much. Like how Mold Breaker changes Excadrill's match ups. Without Mold Breaker, Excadrill would rely on Rock moves it may not have to beat different Levitate Pokemon and Earthquake dealing way more damage against targets like the Latis.
It seems like you can just Close Combat or Knock Off most things that would be immune to Earthquake or Flare Blitz.
And Bulk Up now ignoring Unaware isn't too useful when Emboar lacks reliable recovery and is still slow.
You see, Mega Emboar could have just used Knock Off to hit Delphox in that scenario (and the fact that it wouldn't be using Earthquake in Doubles. Hitting your ally is pretty bad).I am sure it will have some niche use as a stall breaker in OU, and it will definitely do well in the lower tiers but yeah mold breaker is not that useful for it. Mega Feraligatr is pretty decent hypothetically. It has good options for Normal moves with Facade, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Return (in NatDex), and Endeavor. But mostly Facade and Body Slam.- dogshit body slam merchant. so glad this shitty ass bakugan toilet isn't any good, it deserves to rot in nubl by technicality and everyone involved in its creation should be doused in great value canned chili.
Meganium actually doesn't learn Growth. That could change in Gen 9, but for now, it doesn't learn it.- holy shit this thing's gonna be aids. a free 120 bp STAB move off of 140+ sp atk is already absurd, but what i haven't seen people talk about enough is synthesis. free 75% recovery will make this thing stupidly hard to take down, especially with bulk just below that of mega venusaur's. with its new fairy STAB and growth this thing's going to be an aggravating tank, only kept in OU thanks to a combination of absurd powercreep and a questionable defensive typing.
- kind of wish it got a more defensive ability cause iirc it's outdamaged by reckless emboar, but this isn't the worst ability it could ask for. it's some nice qol against guys like the rotoms, but that's about it. ultimately due to the overall stat boost i think it'll find a good amount of use in the middle tiers, and maybe land on a goofy ou rmt as well.

I forgot Emboar learns knock off lmao. Mold breaker sucks ass on this monYou see, Mega Emboar could have just used Knock Off to hit Delphox in that scenario (and the fact that it wouldn't be using Earthquake in Doubles. Hitting your ally is pretty bad).
It's more convenience than practicality.
I'm a bit late to the party, but I have thoughts on Megainium and Feraligatr.Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr have their abilities confirmed!
- Meganium: Mega Sol (Solar Beam/Synthesis are always used as if its in harsh sunlight)
- Emboar: Mold Breaker
- Feraligatr: Dragonize (Dragon-type -ate)
Mega Meganium is pretty strong, but NOT that strong.I'm honestly betting that Mega Megainium is ranked OU, if not UU. It's not extremely broken (yet) obviously, but it's truly a strong option. Really solid defenses, enough to run it as max HP or even Max Def/SpD, a special attack stat that honestly makes Mega Sol look even more threatening, and the fact that the only mon I've seen in the trailers that might be able to answer it is Toxepex. Obviously not impossible to wall, since it's sort of victim to 4 move syndrome, but it's a good looking option since it can support itself without needing a setter. If it gets Growth, then it's over. (Also worried about how Weather Ball will be calc'ed... if I'm correct, Megainium gets basically a 150 base power Fire coverage move, and Corviknight doesn't live that whatsoever...)
That feel when Fairy feels kinda useless for Mega Meganium due to only getting Dazzling Gleam so far. Like, I guess Earth Power is about the same but give it Moonblast too GF.![]()
This format is dead. After champions comes out it will be obsolete and no one will play it anymore. So probably not.Is there going to be a VR and sample teams for this format at some point?

Mega Dragonite keeps Multiscale
Joe Merrick posted an early preview of Champions. He played it really early!
I WAS ABOUT TO REPORT SAME LOLMega Dragonite keeps Multiscale
Mega Froslass gets Snow Warning
Snow Warning for Froslass is the perfect ability for it and it's what the council gave in the Petmod. Wished Dragonite had something else but Multiscale is basically its pseudo signature abilityI WAS ABOUT TO REPORT SAME LOL
So officially we can say both Mega Dragonite and Mega Frosslass are just enhanced Dragonite and enhanced Frosslass in exchange of unable to hold item
Looks like the real Mega Dragonite was the one we got in Gen 8, holding Heavydutybite.Mega Dragonite keeps Multiscale
Good. Snow Warning is one of the best abilities you could give Mega Froslass.Mega Froslass gets Snow Warning
