Uncapped. As for Munchlax, as long as it wasn't nicknamed "MUNCHLAX", its okay (I traded for one previously, but when I evolved it into Snorlax, it was still named MUNCHLAX and I was like WTF!).

hmm you could try re-saving,make sure you are accounting for the frames advanced if the journal comes up with a caught or defeated poke before entering the game world :)

its not that hard,when i caught the abra and ralt's on those NPC routes i check my seed,using 1 or 2 conflips cause i was confident of hitting my seed :)
just to be safe when catching in platt catch like you have NPC's every where
