  • Here are my other two ideas

    Samurott / Lightning Rod
    Flareon / Fur Coat

@Flareon, most dissapointed eeveelution (on the competitive side). Even with Flare Blitz its not enough, so how about adding in Fur Coat to work with its worse stat! Same def as Furfro but with alittle less HP but has great Atk and a great Sp Def stat!
It has access to Wish+Curse+Will O Wisp!
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Thx, will keep those in mind.
Hello, i am told to give you ideas for the great Theorymon Thread :) Well i dont want to waste to much of your time, so i'll say 3 ideas. (1 right now)

    Crobat / Gale Wings
Literally has the same exact stats with Talonflame but between 4-10 points higher (depending on which stat). Great Typing (quad resist Fight/immune to ground!)

Add in it has the same Flying type attacks (BraveBird via eggmove) with Defog!
Since someone brought up MBanette, I am reminded of something I wanted so suggest long ago but forgot to: Focus Punch.
Focus Punch is a blessing with priority Destiny Bond and MBanette's terrible bulk, good attack, where it puts the opponent in a "hit me to die from Destiny Bond or don't hit me to die from Focus Punch" situation, which makes it harder to play around
A Good Idea Electivire - Electric/Fighting - While this change adds no coverage to previous weaknesses, Electivire carries many powerful fighting moves that could use STAB and this makes him a great sweeper with the Motor Drive + Power Up Punch Combo, and then the Cross Chop, Wild Charge STABS and the ice punch for ground types
    Turn Up
    Turn Up
As for flavour, he looks like a fighter
I have two ideas, I don't know if they have already been suggested (I don't post much, but I lurk around a lot) :
    Ghost / Dark Banette & Mega-Banette
    Sand Stream Regirock
Sorry if they have already been suggested, I've put justifications in the comments.
    Full_Korbe
    Full_Korbe
It is the Rock Golem, why wouldn't be able to summon the power of the sand ? Rock is not that bad of a typing, especially considering it resists both Talonflame STABs and how Flyingspam is popular. I wonder how Regirock could use the boost in SpDef. He does lack reliable recovery, but he is very tanky, and can counter both Mega Charizard, and take on Thundurus-I and Kyurem-B.

As i already said, Ghost / Dark Mega Banette has already been slated.

Oh, didn't see it. Thanks for replying so quickly !
You think Magic Guard Cryogonal has a chance? It's a spinner that is immune to entry hazards and can revenge kill Dragons and some water types with Ice STAB and Freeze Dry.
It can run Life Orb or Focus Sash like Alakazam.
    Turn Up
    Turn Up
The only problem, it can't switch into ground type any more
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Cryogonal needs more than this to be viable, so i am going to have to pass on this one, sorry.

I actually really like this idea of magic guard on a rapid spinner, but Ice typing just ain't that special even with Freeze Dry unfortunately. Perhaps Magic Guard Starmie could use this to effect, but he's B- and the only other pokemon with rapid spin that Magic guard would make since on is Claydol...
I know that I just hit you with a fresh batch of ideas but I have a few more...

Vaporeon - Drizzle - I still think Pelipper would be better (Boosted Hydro pump and Hurricane STABs plus imagine Spec Keldeo Hydro Pump with rain and tailwind up) but Vaporean would be good too.
    Meganium/Bellossom - Flower Gift
Articuno - Gale Wings - Priority defog, priority Roost helps with SR weakness, plus access to Freeze Dry .
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Gale Wings has already been slated, and Meganium and Bellossom are too shitty even with those boosts. Will consider Vaporeon though, thx!

Also thought I should post this one in case you prefer it over Vaporeon. Drizzle Raikou. Flavor-wise it carries rain clouds on its back. Sets up rain while keeping momentum with drizzle and fast volt switch. 100% accurate thunder. Revenge kills Mega Zard Y like no other. Strong CM sets destroy many of the meta’s special attackers. Unpredictability with AV sets. So Drizzle Vaporeon, Raikou (or Pelipper) would be nice.
I have another suggestion for a Theorymon: Regenerator Escavelier!
He has good bulk, great typing, great attack, and an adequate movepool. He faces competition from Scizor, but unlike Scizor, he would be able to utilize Assault Vest thanks to his new ability and better special bulk. The only problem is Escavalier doesn't get U-turn (really Game Freak?)
    Turn Up
    Turn Up
Loving it. Excavelier was always one of my fave bugs, and he would always destroy with that choice banded megahorn. And now some recovery without using a move? :D
    Yoshuriken
    Yoshuriken
Thank you! Isa Simple: That certainly could work. I'd prefer Regenerator, though, to utilize Assault Vest. With Heal Order he may just become another Scizor...

Hmm, forgot about AV, yeah regenerator would be better with AV and you wouldn't suffer from 4 move slot syndrome. Good idea :D
I'm conceptualizing an theorymon which exhibits the trait of 'offense is the best defense'. So here is Protean Zangoose.
    escarlata
    escarlata
On the offensive side, it gets perfect neutral coverage. If it gets stuck as Ghost type and a faster Ghost attacker comes in, it also has a priority Quick Attack to immediately reset it's weakness. Overall, it will give Zangoose a much needed buff. Besides, it has really amazing coverage options to change to practically every type.
    escarlata
    escarlata
Flavor wise, Zangoose has always had that feud with Serviper. Protean is like ever changing, which you kind of need to be on par with Serviper because Serviper has some crazy coverage.

    alexwolf
    Will consider it, thx!
Also, not to flood, but considering its union with Unown, the concept of mirages, its elusiveness, and just how fun it'd be, I propose Illusion Suicune.
    JayHankEdLyon
    JayHankEdLyon
If you want better flavor, the best is Sudowoodo, and it'd also be fun to see what that could do (70/115/65 defenses still crush Zoro's), but I can't imagine it'd be very effective even with that bonus. Slow as hell, with only Curse, Rock Polish, and (lol) Calm Mind as boosting move (yeah, amp up that 30 Special Attack stat!).
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Suicune is already ranked B+, and Sudowoodo needs more than Illusion to become viable.
    JayHankEdLyon
    JayHankEdLyon
In that case, Cofagrigus would really appreciate Illusion. Those defenses are great, and it would love to disguise itself as something weak to Fighting. Can use the slip to set up Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, or best of all, Trick Room with ease. Also has Will o Wisp for surprise burns.
    Suggestions: (Description in comments)
    • Fur Coat Shaymin
    • Poison Heal Shaymin
    Imitatia
    Imitatia
    Poison Heal:
    - Some of Shaymin's dex entries state that it has the ability to dissolve toxins, so this could be fitting. Cometitively, it would have something over Celebi and Mega Veno w/ improved Healing, status immunity, and better STAB (Seed Flare)
    Imitatia
    Imitatia
    Fur Coat:
    - Shaymin are known to curl around to protect it, so maybe those green fur has good defensive properties. Shaymin would get something that convinces players to use it over Celebi and Mega Veno due to the improved bul

Hopefully you'll use one of these :)
Has anyone ever suggested Normal/Ghost Porygon-Z? It would finally give us a Ghost and Fighting combo resist that we need. It might get too ridiculous with those Adaptability Shadow Balls though.
    Imitatia
    Imitatia
Maybe Normal/Ghost Porygon2 would benefit more from it defensively.
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Makes no sense at all flavor-wise and as you said, it would be too strong offensively.
I can't find this in the archives and can't believe it hasn't been suggested (as far as I've seen): Grass/Dragon Serperior.
    JayHankEdLyon
    JayHankEdLyon
Last I checked, Mega mon can't exactly make it to a move tutor.
    alexwolf

You said that Dragon-types always get DM, not me.
    JayHankEdLyon
    JayHankEdLyon
It's wonderful that you get so much joy out of being a smartass, but it's not very productive.
Thick Fat Donphan thematically works for an elephant and honestly, so could water absorb/Dry Skin or Sap Sipper.

The Water based abilities allow it to freely spin or setup Rocks on Rotom-Wash, Sap Sipper against Venusaur and Thick Fat could help against CharXs that don't have outrage.

Pick whichever one you feel would make most sense.
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
All great ideas, thx a lot!
    Isa Simple
    Isa Simple
Ironically Sap Sipper Donphan would synergies great with Water/Fairy Milotic :)
Okay so how come you rejected my suggestion to put tough claws on Weavile since it was mindless power boost then put it on Drapion? It may not have a very high attack stat, but it still is a mindless boost...
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Drapion has a lot of defensive abilities thanks to its great resistances and decent bulk, unlike Weavile, which is all about power. Drapion makes for a great Aegislash switch-in, which is something the metagame needs, but Weavile can't do this.
    Theorymon Ideas:
    - Shadow Sneak Banette (thought this existed for a while, STAB priority off of that massive Atk stat)
    - Fur Coat Flareon (flavor yada yada)
    - Belly Drum Hawlucha (Belly Drum Unburden would make it viable)
    Turn Up
    Turn Up
Hawlucha is an amazing pokemon as it is. That would make it Ubers if you can catch someone on a switch and BDrum Unburden
(ex: "Kangaskhan shows her potential" as opposed to "My Kangaskhan shows her potential").
Do include your/the opponent's Smogon username if they're on an alt - Unless they ask to remain nameless, better to have the match titled Melee Mewtwo vs Jrp than like Melee Mewtwo vs turd.
    Part 5
Do add a small description w/ your replay - It's nice that you al have so much to say when talking about your replays, but keep in mind that when they go into the OP the descriptions will be skimmed through. Thus, it would be helpful to include a short 1-2 sentence summary of the highlights of the game alongside your longer description. When making the description also keep it neutral
    Part 4
Don't post haxy games - In a similar vein, if a game is very haxy or has a move where the implementation on PS is incorrect, please don't share it here. If the hax didn't affect the outcome of the game, still say why it didn't and point out that it happened when discussing the replay. But yeah no one wants to see you winning after getting 3 misses and a crit or something.
    Part 3
Don't post lousy games - This one might seem obvious but it still happens. If you're beating something like a Monotype team, it isn't impressive or interesting, and I can promise I won't accept it. So please don't share a game against an opponent who clearly has 0 idea what they're doing. Part 2
Share your battles here with us. Make sure they're actually good, and not stuff like 6 Wurmples. That includes, "Lol, look at the ladder" replays. This way, people will get a bit more clear vision of OU at its initial phase. Part 1 of Op
    More Theorymons Ideas:

    Noivern - Oblivion Wing
    Togekiss - Calm Mind (B-)
    Gastrodon - Gooey
    Darmanitan - Zen Mode *
    Dragalge - Recover
    Mega Abomasnow - Filter *
    Toxicroak - Poison / Dark
    Aerodactyl - Dragon Dance
    Slaking - U-Turn
    Lumineon - Quiver Dance *
    Lapras - Filter
(I will explain the pokemon with an asterix in the comments).

    Darmanitan - Zen Mode.
Not sure if this counts for theorymon but i noticed someone recommended Meloetta starting in pirouette form so thought, What if Zen Mode Darmanitan was a different form sort of like the Rotom forms. It would become the only viable bulky fire type in the tier other than Heatran and could hit extremely hard with 140SpA Sheer Force Fire Blast. Would function great in trick room.
    Isa Simple
    Isa Simple
    Mega Abomasnow - Filter.
I know that he loses his signature Snow Warning but i figured you would still get some residual damage from the original snow warning before you mega-evolve, other than the damage all hail does for Abo is increase Blizzards accuracy. Filter would help immensely with his many weaknesses and without hail up he could finally use Synthesis well. Would also be epic in Trick Room.
    Isa Simple
    Isa Simple
    Lumineon - Quiver Dance.
I know that Lumineon has crap stats but I think with the combination of Quiver Dance and Storm Drain you could boost Lumineon's stats to useable levels. It would be no Quiver Dance sweeper as such but a sick support with great speed, solid typing, defog powerful scalds. I'm not sure if this will be quite enough but the unique typing on a defoger and strong scalds intrigues me.
Just saw your post in the Gardevoir OU thread... So you recommend a set of @Gardevoirite, Timid, 252 SPA and 252 Speed with Hyper Voice/Psyshock/Will-O-Wisp and either Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Hidden Power Ground, or Taunt? Just wondering! It actually bothers me that more people don't advocate for Psyshock because without it, you lose to stuff like Tentacruel, Drapion, and even Sylveon!
    Cipher Admin Lovrina
    Cipher Admin Lovrina
The thing I worry about with Taunt is that a smart Chansey/Blissey player will try to seismic toss you to death rather than heal... Which do you recommend in the last moveslot? I like Focus Blast for Heatran, Ferrothorn, and sometimes Scizor, but I'm not completely sure.
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Taunt makes Chansey really easy to wear down, as Psyshock 3HKOes and SR also helps. Even if you don't KO it before it does the same to you, it will be left with 10-20% health, at which point anything will be able to KO it.
    Cipher Admin Lovrina
    Cipher Admin Lovrina
Yeah, I'm sooo not a fan of Focus Blast's shaky accuracy. And Shadow Ball only hits Aegislash, who you won't want to leave Gardevoir in on anyway, so you recommend Mega Garde as a stall breaker with doublestab? Sweet :)
Just one theorymon: unaware tyrantrum. Tyrantrum seems like a great candidate to use unaware offensively to revenge kill some the most prominent ddancers in the tier: Zard x, mega ttar and broken multi dnite can all be revenged by scarf tyrantrum regardless of how much speed they get.
    acestriker19

Also like trexes are dumb therefore unaware.

Hmm I guess I was unaware of this as Serebii simply says that Unaware ignores all stat changes. I tested this out on the simulator and it shows you're right, though I don't understand why it changes evasion and accuracy as bulbapedia says: "Unaware ignores other Pokémon's positive and negative stat changes when calculating damage involving a Pokémon with this Ability."
