    havent seen either but my guess is both are probably tighter ships than billboards. pretty sure most of its problems have to do with mcdonagh having little experience writing from the kind of setting he's pulling from in billboards (Midwest), and it makes him treat certain aspects of the story as set dressing (e.g. race).

    Billboards is trying really hard to be a contemporary and specific social commentary and it doesnt look like IB / 7P are going for that from what i can tell.

    I really like this trope where it's like, two sides are at war with each other and like character A kills character B, who is the lover of character C. Then later on in the story as war goes and alliances change character A and C end up on the same side. It's like awkward right. Even though it wasn't personal it's still painful. So you get a fridging moment and also a difficult forgiveness subplot. a two for one

    wow i never saw these msgs. i dont think dbz and marvel are very far apart in terms of having amythos and such. neither really aspires to true "realism" so. if anything Worm (web serial about superheroes) does superheroes escalation with realism the best out of anything ive ever seen
