  • Wait, start when the DS itself starts up? Well that explains a lot then. I kept soft resetting on the Pokemon screen (obviously after I started the game from the DS menu) each time a new minute would come. So you're saying I actually start the calibration the second I turn my DS on? In that case I should start as soon as the new minute rolls in, right?
    Both the Staryu and Ditto are from my game, which is North American. And I was usually getting 13 seconds before. I just randomly got two 38's, a 39 and a 40 the last few times I tried calibrating (or seeding, or whatever). (I'm referring to seconds, by the way)
    Several things must be checked when you consistently get no matching Elm responses:

    1) Yes, I've showed Elm the hatched Togepi (Now a Togetic) and I have indeed acquired a Pokemon with Pokerus (From my Diamond actually..one I got back in 2007)

    2) I've already caught all the roamers.

    2) I've been looking back and forth between both times. I don't believe I made any mistakes or typos (or w/e)

    4) Staryu and Ditto. Is that cool?

    5) Well I've just been using the most recent one (which oddly came back as 40 seconds and with a delay of 499..which matched the previous delay.

    Well... I keep hitting a dead end on getting the correct Professor Elm responses. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I've been reading your guide as well as others all day and have been following everything step by step, but I always eventually hit a dead end. This time I had a seed at 6:21:13 and have been trying to find a match for that, but I just don't seem to have any luck. I tried working with that pikatimer thing, but just couldn't figure out the overall point of it (I've been using the clock on my computer, since it's less complicated to me). But yeah, my calls aren't even matching up with the "elm responses for seed".

    Hmmm...I usually can get my Shiny/Nature/Ability within 10 minutes if not less. Basically:

    DPPt:

    1) Must hit delay for Shiny/Nature/Ability
    2) Must hit delay and land on frame for IVs
    3) Must Calibrate frame each time before IV RNGing

    HGSS:

    1) Must hit seed/delay for Shiny/Nature/Ability
    2) Must hit seed/delay for IVs
    3) No calibration needed after it's done once

    For HGSS do you have to figure out your frame? If it is easier than diamond, I'll work on finding my delay on there instead. Sorry for leaving the post on your page, I just hate always having to post in the help forum >.<

    Hey sorry to bother you but how much easier is it to RNG breed on HGSS?

    I saw your post stating that frame calibration before breeding on DPPt is the reason you don't do it on those versions anymore. So I was just wondering :)
    Okay. Would you possibly be able to explain a short simplified explanation of what "calibrating delay(s)" is? I couldn't understand the instructions that your description linked to. I'm just asking because my next concern will be how to use the pikatimer.
    Yeah, I'm currently reading up on that right now. Is there something specific I should put in the RNG reporter for "Method", "Max Results" and "Starting Frame"?
    Alright. I guess I'm just doing this all wrong. I'm totally clueless at the moment :/ ..So my apologies if I'm asking questions with really obvious answers.
    I'm currently trying to input information under the "Shiny Egg" tab of the 4th generation time finder. However, when I click "Generate" nothing is coming up. I've changed the days and months, but still nothing will come up. Did I do something wrong?
    Oops..I was oblivious. Yeah, I'm currently reading all the information you have posted..I'm just having trouble understanding how to use that Pikatimer thing. I'm not quite sure what to put in..or how to find what I should put in.

    I did it on platinium !!!!! I got my first rng shiny egg !!!! Only on my second try !!!! Now I have to learn to do the ivs =)
