Now that you mention it, yeah, it does. o_O But yeah, seems my game is sort of back to normal again, been trying to get a HP Flying full flawless Gyarados, but I hit the regular HP Ground spread all the time. :P Maybe it was a fluke after all, the split Barboach I mean.

Btw, when you've bred a Pokémon on the emulator, do you put it on a flash card so you can trade around?

I always go for non split, but I always use parents that, in case I hit alternate, I can just switch the parents and get a 31/31/31/x/31/31 Pokémon using the Alternate spread.

It isn't that time consuming imho as the Pokémon you want to abuse in 3th Gen that need a 4th Gen ability are mainly Chansey and Clefable. When using a Everstone you have a 50% chance of passing the right nature to the egg, and a 50% chance it has the right ability in Gen 4.

Fire Red and Leaf Green are easy to RNG on, the problem is there aren't many Pokémon worth RNGing on them. Deoxys is easier on FRLG because you can hit frames quicker, but it can be RNG using the Wondercard and is only worth RNGing if it is shiny. Lugia, Ho-Oh and the 3 birds can be caught quicker on HGSS/Pt. Mewtwo can be caught for Selfdestruct, but the drop in power in 5th gen has made it useless and non-selfdestruct ones can be caught in HGSS.
Basically, it starts on a random frame each time you restart the game. Apparently its a bit like seeding in 4th gen, but I havent managed to get it to work, so I reset, check the ivs of the pokemon with rsedecode, pokerng search to see which frame im on, and advance frame if Im close enough(if im under 25million from my frame, but Im doing one now which is 67million frames away). The frame advances like Emerald, it just "skips" up to 4billion frames when you start the game so you can hit flawless frames quicker.

If Im honest, it isnt really worth RNGing in Ruby/Sapphire. The only reason why you would is for a level 45 groudon/kyogre or flawless regi.
Its basically the same as emerald, it just starts on a "random" frame. What you would do is reset, make a savestate, capture legend, check ivs, pokerng ivs to find frame, return to savestate if the is a flawless frame close enough(50million+ frames isnt worth the wait), if not repeat the process.
It may have been my version of VBA, but when I was catching Registeel I was getting some method 4 pokemon which was kind of confusing as I had to find what frame flawless method 4 frames were on and find out what ivs the method 4 pokemon would have if they were method 1 as PokeRNG doesnt work with method 4 ivs. In short, Kyogre/Groudon is easy but not really worth it, while the Regi are a bit more complicated.
