No, the Espeon did not come from the real event. Unless the user lives in Japan, you won't see any real DW event Pokes on Smogon. They're all obtained via a High Link editor, which is similar to Wondercard hacking. It just puts the Poke in High Link, and you have to go there and RNG Abuse it.

I kinda like the first one since Recover is huge, and you can always use Dragon Tail over Ice Beam on that set. You can still switch into WoW and Thunder Wave, and benefit from it while keeping your reliable recovery. I think the sleep mechanics nerfed Milotic's Rest/Talk set somewhat as well. =x

I'm really not familiar with prior gen in 5th gen and their new movesets as much.
I personally think it needs the Marvel Scale boost to compete with the ever-increasing attack stats. It also doubles as a status absorber.
