  1. Format Discussion Scarlet/Violet Random Battle Sets

Can we talk about hazard removal? There are currently 41 Pokémon with access to hazard removal compared to 102 with access to setting hazards. In regular formats, most teams carry a hazard remover—but in Random Battles, you’re often left without an option to deal with hazards. I also feel like...
  2. Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion v3 (Usage in post #251)

There’s plenty of counter arguments to the Kings Rock ban if you bothered to review the original posts where this was brought up, namely that while the item fits the definition of uncompetitive, it doesn’t actually have an overwhelming impact on the meta. Having a surge in Shed Shell to counter...
  3. Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion (Usage stats in post #944)

Moody has definitely caught the metagame unawares - but I don't think we should be so hasty to ban it. I'm firmly in the camp that there's nothing strictly uncompetitive about Moody without accuracy/evasion boosts. The passive boosting is akin to the ability Speed Boost which while broken on...
  4. Resource Simple Questions, Simple Answers Thread

I know I've seen this answered somewhere before so apologies for the repetition, but does Choice Band's attack boost apply if you come out of Dynamax and switch to a move different to what you used before Dynamax? So for example say you switch in CB Excadrill, use Rapid Spin, proceed to sweep...
  5. Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion (Usage stats in post #944)

I’ll steer clear of discussing the specific pitfalls of the current metagame, which have already been dissected in a hundred different ways, but I do want to raise a few indicators of a healthy metagame that we should pay close attention to coming into an inevitable suspect: Rate of forfeit...

  7. SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword & Shield Pre-Release SPOILERS - Check Post 2!

I haven't seen anyone mention Appletun getting Thick Fat, taking its crippling 4x Ice weakness to 2x and giving it a Fire resistance. So happy for that chunky boi. I'd still be interested to see if a Ripen set could work in the new meta, particularly with the stat boosting berries and recycle.
  8. SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword & Shield Pre-Release SPOILERS - Check Post 2!

That’s a pretty amazing move. Defensive Pokemon that try to wall Grapplock are going to buckle from those progressive stat drops.

Chansey/Audino are clerics while the screenshot implies Indeedee has memory altering powers?

Starf-Recycle Appletun is going to be broken.

I could see it working well with Hypnosis on a slow / bulky Psychic type, very situational though.
  12. RM: Mono-Ground Team

:o I didn't realise it was violating that rule *embarrased* Ah well, I've fixed it :/ I may just get rid of Rockslide since the surprise factor of Mirror coat is probibly more effective. Skarmory/Bronzong (not that Rockslide would do anything anyway) resists it but at least I can hit most...
  13. RM: Mono-Ground Team

I battle in a mono-type league on another forum. There are a few rules I have to abide to though: At least 4 of my Pokemon must be part Ground (They don't require Ground moves) I can have up to two alt's of any types. They MUST have at least one ground type move No Ubers (Includes Chomp)Not too...
