2010 music

Just got the new Interpol, I got through the first play and its pretty good, although it'll take another 3-4 plays to get my true opinion on it.

EDIT: Really liking Memory serves, Success, The Undoing, Always Malaise (The Man I Am), and Summer Well. The rest are decent but kinda slow and boring. But overall a pretty good album.

EDIT2: Memory Serves, The Undoing, And Always Malaise are becoming some of my favorite Interpol songs.

The new Iron Maiden album The Final Frontier was boring. While the album wasn't exactly bad, it did not contain anything that was really memorable. A few stand out tracks thrown in a mix of boring long songs or just songs that suck like "El Dorado". If you're an Iron Maiden fan go ahead and give it a spin. However, be aware that you'll be wasting your time if you expect anything like any album from Iron Maiden to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. This whole new progressive direction Iron Maiden have been doing since The X Factor, have not been with much outstanding results.

lol wat? those are the only albums in that span.

anyway im probably not going to bother with this album because ive heard 3 or 4 tracks on utube and its just not interesting enough.

I'm saying that Iron Maiden haven't released anything worth hearing since Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

01. Killers
02. Iron Maiden
03. Powerslave
04. Piece of Mind
05. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
06. The Number of the Beast
07. Somewhere in Time
08. Dance of Death
09. The Final Frontier
10. Brave New World
11. Fear of the Dark
12. A Matter of Life and Death
13. No Prayer for the Dying
14. The X Factor
15. Virtual XI

I couldn't care for albums 08-15. Enforcer's album from this year Diamonds, is the best standard heavy metal album of 2010. It's a lot better than The Final Frontier.

did you not read what you wrote, or what?
However, be aware that you'll be wasting your time if you expect anything like any album from Iron Maiden to Killers.

Chronologically, Iron Maiden only released TWO albums in the span of Iron Maiden and Killers,, which are Iron Maiden, and Killers. Therefore your statement made absolutely no sense, especially when you say "any album between", because there are zero.

Ah, I could have sworn I typed Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, not Killers. My mistake good sir.

I think killers to Seventh son of the seventh son was maidens prime after which they have been in a downward spiral.Though fear of the deak was a pretty good album.Dance of death had a couple of good songs but not enough to make a good album. And after I lost interest and havnt heard much but I did hear final frontier and wasn't impressed at all.

Andd deschain wasnt kidding about kvelertak. Its legendry. Its a record to be bought...

I'm enjoying this.

But I still don't get why Steven Stills thinks he should be making 'metal hands'.

Yeah I've been listening to the Scott Pilgrim OST for the past week or so, listening to it now actually lol. Its pretty damn good.

Enforcer-2010Diamonds.jpg

I remember downloading this album a while ago from the band. They had it up for download for free for a couple of hours. Honestly, I was surprised how great it was. I've listened to their 2008 debut release Into the Night, and I must say I believe I enjoyed it more. Diamonds is a very good release still. Enforcer have tremendous talent. I look forward to their future releases.

This isn't on the same level as Enforcer's Diamonds album, it is a good listen on it's own right though. It's a catchy and fun studio album like Diamonds. Over the Top displays a great lineup of musicians. Sadly bassist Jon Leon decided to change the whole lineup. Overall, I recommend this.

Overkill-2010Ironbound.jpg

If you're a casual listener of thrash, the only bands you might have played are Metallica or Megadeth. Overkill is one of the best thrash metal bands. It's such a shame many overlook them. Ironbound is the band's best album since 1991's Horrorscope. It's a much more enjoyable album than those lack luster attempts from Metallica's Death Magnetic or Slayer's World Painted Blood. It's a better album than Megadeth's Endgame. Overkill's first five studio albums are easily the band's best. So one might ask, "Is Ironbound better than Feel the Fire, Taking Over, Horrorscope, or any one of their first five studio albums?". The answer would be no. Ironbound is still quite the enjoyable album. Go listen to 2010's thrash metal release of the year.

K fuck this is so good, Anamanaguchi is such a fucking diverse band some of this stuff ends up sounding like straight up dance music, experimental pop-punk, some parts almost sound like they should be in dubstep or something. It's just crazy, and the songs aren't long either so it's incredibly fresh the whole way through, with 24 songs clocking it at only 45.8 minutes.

Or the whole 43 song album if you got it, but most of the extra songs are just small sound clips, ranging from 5 seconds to 20 seconds, still cool to have though.

Ahahaha I don't have it but yeah some of those clips sound really good too. I just can't really deal with having 20 second songs haha.

Well i've now listened to the new Interpol album something like ~30 times. Below I'm going to list all the songs and a rating next to them out of five, this isn't a review and the ratings are within the context of the album.

01. Success (4/5)
02. Memory Serves (5/5)
03. Summer Well (4/5)
04. Lights (2/5)
05. Barricade (2/5)
06. Always Malaise (The Man I am) (5/5)
07. Safe Without (4/5)
08. Try It On (3/5)
09. All Of The Ways (2/5)
10. The Undoing (5/5)

Overall in my opinion a pretty good album.

klaxons - surfing the void is ok but after three years i really expected more. echoes, the same space and twin flames are the top three songs. valley of calm trees is horrendous and the titular track is very average

yeah.. it sounds like they're trying to be more serious but they cant deliver as well as in their debut.. really average tracks between some highlights (Echoes, Future Memories, The Same Space)

i am really into that type of stuff atm so will get

just listened to Noisia's album the first time yesterday too.. its awesome : D

So everyone should know by now

fun-aim-and-ignite-1.jpg

that this album kicks ass.

But did you know Fun's re-releasing it on the 14th with bonus tracks and other fun stuff? Including a really cool song called Stitch Me Up.

This year's starting to peter out. Most of the stuff I'm looking forward to is 2011 music.
