I honestly thought Dalglish did OK. Not good but not bad enough to warrant a sacking. By sacking him they are setting a dangerous precedent; what if Rogers doesn't deliver top 4 next season with no cup? Do they sack and go again? Can Rogers really get Liverpool into the top 4? Will Suarez stay or will he want to move now? Will Rogers give Carroll the same amount of time and faith as Kenny did? It seems there are questions over every aspect of Liverpool's system from first XI all the way to the board.

I don't think it's about getting into the top 4 this season. FSG arent stupid and know they need time to build - and as for Dalglish, the league position was only one thing he fucked of many; shocking media relations (as if i need to mention Suarezgate), shit transfer acumen and wasted money, tactical inflexibility, weird selection choices (like Carroll getting dropped every time he hit form).. it wasn't just the fact they ended up with the shittiest league position in about fifty years, it just wasn't going anywhere and it wasn't getting better and Kenny wasn't the person to make it better.

Apparently Gylfi and Joe Allen are off (according to Alan Tate, anyway). I'm trying to not read any football websites anymore, haha. Also we're in for Wigan's deputy manager as our new manager.. I really wanted Rayo's manager but I'm cautiously optimistic about this one :3

P.S. apparently poyet is linked with us too.. I do not want Gus Poyet.

P

Gus won't move don't worry akuchi, we've kept him away from interest from the premier league before and I assume it will happen again!

I also don't think he's a good choice for swansea because he has big disciplinary problems and swansea always seem like such a well-disciplined side, so i don't think he'd fit in. I know nothing about wigan's deputy though, apparently he was also martinez's deputy at swansea so you probably know more about him.

Yeah all that cockiness makes you wanna see him flop.I'd probably be predictiing the same if I were a neutral.

Yeh he was, didn't realise that til after I'd posted - knew Martinez took his backroom staff with him (like Rodgers is doing now) but didn't make the connection. Now I've realised it's him I'm really really in favour - and honestly I just trust Jenkins to make the right appointment, he's had it nailed on with rookie managers before :3

Watching the friendly between England and Belgium and I saw people doing the wave. I thought this most awful of fan activities only plagued my side of the pond.

Also, a Belgian striker pushed an English defender in the back and he crashed headfirst into the keeper. Ouch.

I really don't see why hazard is so highly rated. calling him world class beyond far-stretched. hulk on the other hand, i can see him destroying pl defences.

i like what i've seen from england so far. for once the expectations aren't very high so they can try to do what chelsea did in the champions league. hodgson is pretty good at organizing his team.

While admittedly a friendly, Hazard is playing very well against England (a team full of EPL players.

i feel very emotional seeing dirk move on. i've been supporting liverpool for about 5 years or so and he's been there for a really long time.

thank you dirk, you gave us and me personally some great moments. a true professional who never gave less than 110%.

:pirate: really sad to see him go

man, he can't play football because of a fractured jaw? I'm no medic but I'm willing to bet that Cahill is as confused and frustrated by that as I am.

oh yeah, and Martin Kelly (largely unknown right back who has made 22 league appearances for Liverpool in the last 4 years) over Micah Richards (who made 29 league appearances this season alone as a vice-captain in a title-winning side, can function as a centre back if needed and has been a senior England international since 2006)? do me a fucking favour

"To be frozen out of your international side is hard to take sometimes. Everyone wants to play for their international team, especially when you’re playing in a team that’s doing so well. I didn’t get a chance under Capello. I don’t know why. I always asked the question, but I never got an answer." - Micah Richards, February 2012

somebody needs to give the lad an answer

There's something going on with Micah Richards in the background, there has to be. He either did something or said something that the England establishment didn't like that we don't know about. There's no other reason now at this stage. He can forget his international career if Martin Kelly is being picked ahead of him.

I feel bad for Cahill but these things happen and he's still got a few tournaments left in him yet to look forward to. Maybe he could've wore a face mask like Bendtner did when he fractured his nose but maybe this injury is quite serious.
