Wow what a superb defensive performance in Portugal, especially by Luiz.My heart was in my mouth when that cross got deflected off Cole's leg later on but fortunately he managed to miss te goal.A surpisingly disappointing performance from Mata;looked dull and tired and missed a good chance.Once again Torres did everything a striker should except score a goal but i'd rather have him do that then do nothing at all ofc.The tie hasn't beeen wonn yet but we are heading in the right direction.

The Milan - Barca Game was a good one, even though it was 0-0. Both teams made good chances, and Milan didn't let Barca play their game.

Best goalless draw I've seen in a long time.

Not going to happen. Ronaldo hasn't won all he can at Madrid, he was an ex-united fan, and I doubt he would switch to city. He's won all he can in the premier league, why would he want to go back? Plus City has a studded squad, he would really have to fight his position on the lineup, which he doesn't have to at Madrid.

It wouldn't surprise me that if Manchester City don't win the League (I do really fancy United to hold on now) that Mancini is sacked and they try to bring in Mourinho who will bring Ronaldo with him. I'd love to see Ronaldo back at Manchester Untied though, with Berbatov going and Owen always injured, it'd be nice to have a fourth striker in there. It'd mean Welbeck and Hernandez get less playing time, perhaps even Nani, Young, and Valencia playing less at times, but it'd be worth it and I'm sure Sir Alex could juggle all of that talent and keep them happy. Wishful thinking of course, but seeing Ronaldo in a Manchester City shirt would hurt. It's also hard to see where he'd play, but I always get the feeling that Dzeko and Balotelli, despite their obvious quality, are stepping stone players for Manchester City. As soon as they can sign better players, they'll be the ones to feature less (eg. Auguero is a better player and has made more appearances than either).

As for the Premier League this season, as I said I think United will hold on now. But I'll talk about this more in two weeks when City have played Arsenal. Hopefully they slip up at Stoke and United don't mess up the Blackburn game, we'll see. I think the Fulham game was both a good performance, but a frustrating one. In previous weeks we haven't struggled for goals despite not really dominating games. But we dominated Fulham and only found the one goal. I think if Scholes and Hernández started we'd have scored at least one more and been comfortable so I expect them both to start on Monday.

Champions League, I fully expected Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to do what the did. Chelsea was a bit of a surprise given their recent away form in Europe, but their defensive play has improved as of late and despite not firing on all fronts for ages, they always have a goal in them with the attacking options they have. I think all three of those teams have done enough to progress. This may be a surprising comment, but the team I feel are most in danger of not progressing in regards to the current 'favourites' are Barcelona. I really fancy AC Milan to get a score draw in Spain and knock them out. But we'll see about that..

Just saw this post. I genuinely think that Real Madrid will win La Liga and the Champions League, meaning Ronaldo has basically won all he can with Madrid already. If this happens, it wouldn't surprise me if Ronaldo felt like he'd achieved his goals in Spain and wanted another test. Not saying it will happen by any means and I don't expect it to, but I can easily see a reason why. There's always the money, too. I'm sure Man City would pay him whatever sum he wanted and give Real Madrid more than the £80million they paid for him from the off..

Ronaldo would rather go back to united if he left madrid, sooner the FFP rules come in the better, then there will be no stupid contracts and transfer bids

Oh and Ronaldo won't have to fight for a spot at City anymore than he has to at Madrid(unless he becomes a flop like Torres, that is). There's not much difference between the two squads in the sense that their both packed with established stars. If Ronadlo does end up at City(and I hope he doesn't),he'll be like Aguero(might also play more time than him depending on how well he adapts to the PL).I'm really nervous going into the second leg,i mean we're usually stronger away than at home(the AVB time was an exception). We won 2-0 away at Kobenhavn last season and managed a 0-0 draw at home coz the woodwork saved us.I just hope Di matteo will somehow make us stronger at home as that ks our only hope of beating Benfica and, possibly,Barca. We definitely can't beat Barca at the Camp Nou so our only hope is to draw away and win at home.Home form is really important from here on.

Just quoting some stuff from Ronaldo:
"Mourinho will stay with us, I'm sure," the Portuguese told reporters ahead of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg clash with CSKA Moscow.
But the former Manchester United winger, who has also been linked with a return to the Premier League, added that even if he or Mourinho did leave the club, they would still be strong.

"Real Madrid are the most important thing - not me or Mourinho," he stated.

Agreeing with the posts above, If ronaldo is on the market per say, United AND City would want him. And frankly, he would go to United.

So glad he's doing better.

There is more chance of Madrid getting Aguero in the summer then City getting Ronaldo. Higuain is the one they should be looking at he is getting pushed aside more and more by Benzema.

Champions league games were not all that good, the whole competition is kinda boring now imo as the only thing that seems uncertain is whether Bayern can scrape past Madrid. Milan managed a draw in their own stadium against Barcelona but so have nearly half a dozen La Liga teams this season, their away form is what has cost them the league.

Milan managed to get a score draw at Barcelona in the group stage, it won't happen again that match could have been 7-2 for the amount of chances made.

Yeah, Villa captain Stylian Petrov has acute leukaemia. He's started his treatment already, I can speak for all of us when wishing him a full recovery.

Today we travel to bottom club Wolves, in search of 3 league wins in a row (last time we did that was in '06 I think). A win would put a bit of daylight between us and the relegation zone, plus we have that game in-hand at Villa. However, we only have 2 available central midfielder (Reo-Coker and Mark Davies) which may be of some concern.

Are you trying to imply that City have a better squad than Madrid?

Also, I'd like to know exactly who would be giving Ronaldo competition for his spot at Manchester City.

By no means am I suggesting that City is a better team, all I'm saying is that there are a greater number of 'famous' players in the City lineup than there are in the Madrid lineup. Madrid has a good synergy amongst its players, which City obviously lacks.

About Ronaldo, he would have to compete with Silva, Johnson, Barry, Nasri. Point being, at Madrid, he's established his place on the first-team squad.

(btw, I meant ronaldo was an ex-united player, not a fan)

Finally. It's about time he scored :D.Hopefully,he'll perform this well or even better vs Benfica and for the rest of the season.

EDIT:Just learnt about Arsenal's loss.If Spurs lose this'll be one perfect week :D

Crazy day Sunderland with 3 away goals.

Ronaldo is a prick but he wouldn't have to compete to get in any team in the world including City, he is the 2nd best player in the world who would give pretty much any team 30-40 goals a season. Not to mention the amount of replica kits he sells probably pays for his wages on its own.

The only players that would at a push get in to Madrid's starting eleven or even in the squad are Silva,Kompany,Yaya Toure, Tevez and Aguero.
