it was kinda dissapointing to see reina do that, lowering himself to that level. he is a world cup winning keeper and shouldn't even think about touching such a terrible player

at least we'll finally see Doni in goal. he's too good for the bench. and did i mention that he would walk into man utd's first XI? but probably any gk could

tbh Man Utd's starting XI and squad has been poor and been getting poorer for several seasons now ever since Ronaldo left, but Ferguson somehow is guiding the club to another golden period of success. It's mind-boggling how he does it. He had no right to win the Premier League last season and getting to the CL final was like turning water to wine with the squad he had (and he did it several times). Ferguson, Wenger and Moyes have been performing miracles. Every year their squads are depleted more and more while people write them off but they keep finishing stronger and stronger out of nowhere. If Newcastle keep selling their best players for a few more years and keep finishing in the top 5/6 then you can add Pardew to that list too.

Where was I going with this... Oh yeah :D, as poor as Utd's squad is, I don't think Lindegaard and De Gea are bad (just not great yet) so Doni will have to be pretty good if you think he'd get in the team ahead of them.

They kinda deserved to win the PL last year coz, although they sucked, they didn't as much as us and we were the closest to winning the title after them so they deserved it more than us.Bad is better than worse, ofcourse.

Yeah Man Utd's first-team squad is so poor that we're probably going to win the Premier League again 9.9 okay that makes sense.

And yeah a goalkeeper with no Premier League experience would walk into Man Utd's first-team 9.9 okay that makes perfect sense.

de Gea has been very good for a long time now, he was always going to be a scapegoat and somewhat nervous at first, but now he's perfectly solid IMO.

You can't just measure a squad by the strength of each individual player, its a lot more complicated than that.

lol nosferalto trying to put the spotlight on other team's inadequacies when we should be talking about Liverpool

y'know you're currently performing worse than you were when Hodgson got sacked?

Looks like Manchester United have it won this year again... Ferguson is a miracle worker.

United's remaining fixtures and result forecasts:
Home to QPR - W
Away at Wigan - W
Home to Aston Villa - W/D
Home to Everton - W/D
Away at Man City - L
Home to Swansea - W
Away at Sunderland - D

Man City's remaining fixtures and result forecasts:
Away at Arsenal - D
Home to West Brom - W
Away at Norwich - W
Away at Wolves - W
Home to Man Utd - W
Away at Newcastle - D
Home to QPR - W

End points results with these estimates (btw I take W/D as 2 points)
Man Utd: 90 pts
Man City: 88 pts

City are gonna regret that loss to Swansea.

do you even english

No time to respond to criticism, must point out grammatical errors.

Its funny because payed does exist, but only in the sense of slackening a rope, so MY BAD I typed it while tired. Liverpool still PAID an incredible amount for sub standard talent.

Sup Utd fans, is Raphael nailed on in the first XI now? I'm thinking of bringing him in for my fantasy team. He was first choice right back last season but kept getting injured, is he still first choice now there's competition from Jones (and Smalling)?

Yeah Man Utd's first-team squad is so poor that we're probably going to win the Premier League again 9.9 okay that makes sense.

Miracles in the league? Hardly. Uniteds squad have been getting poorer and poorer, but they're winning the league because the rest of the premiership is getting poorer aswell. A few years ago an all english CL semi wouldn't be a surprise, now one team getting in is. United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpools squads are all far worse (and/or older!) than a few years ago. Only spurs and city have got better - but until they win anything spurs and city mean fuck all. The premier league may be the most entertaining (and IMO the best) but it's weaker than La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A now.

And yeah a goalkeeper with no Premier League experience would walk into Man Utd's first-team 9.9 okay that makes perfect sense.

Isn't that exactly what De Gea did? And nos, Doni played one game in pre-season where he dislocated his finger. He's probably pretty decent but no-ones seen him play so how can you judge?

Plus yeah L'pool are really poor now, I remember in January we were talking about boosting the first XI with marquee signings such as Cavani and Hazard. Ha, somehow can't see that happening now. I hope kenny uses the rest of the season to get the youngsters involved, Sterling, Shelvey, Flanagan etc. Here's to winning the europa league next year then decimate Barca in the super cup!

Out of the 'big 4', Arsenal and Liverpool have gotten weaker. Chelsea have gotten considerably stronger, the only big loss they have suffered in recent years is probably losing Carvalho. Chelsea won the title two seasons ago and everyone predicted they would win another title last season until they imploded for no reason in the winter, but they still managed to recover and come second. Look at this season, they have strengthened in every area but for some reason they haven't performed. If you look at Utd over the same period, they have lost very good players and their replacements haven't been the same quality. Yet Ferguson gets them to perform consistently and grind out results and ends up winning a title last season and on the way again this season. Once Chelsea's stars decide to pull their fingers out and stop sulking they should be the strongest team in the league on paper, it's just their team unity isn't anywhere near Utd's. This is why I say Ferguson has pulled it out of the bag again. Put it this way, look at Utd's team and Chelsea's team: who has the better chances to make it onto a world XI squad position for position?

Neither? But Rooney and a fit Vidic are a lot closer to making a world XI then anyone at Chelsea. Not really sure i would take anyone at Chelsea except Cech, Mata and maybe Sturridge over their counterpart at United.

I don't really think Chelsea are better then the team that last won the league, they have brought in a lot of players but at the same time the old guard has seriously dropped off, two years ago Drogba was still one of the best strikers in the world and Malouda was arguably the best wide player in the entire league, now there bench warmers. Lampard,Terry, and especially Ashley Cole have also really gone down hill since then as well.

Yeah Chelsea haven't lost players to other clubs but rather age (or injury, look at Essien) I'd take the Chelsea of 05/06 over the Chelsea of today (even with Torres, Meireles & Mata).

Fergie's success has been more to the capitulation of the teams around him (you said it yourself, No Luck Involved, Chelsea last season) rather then him being some miracle worker. If he could take a weak team to win the champions league against the best clubs in the world then I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But right now the "top" english club couldn't even beat Basel or At.Bilbao (over 4 games).

Also, is anyone else pissed off about the Barca game? Uefa's golden boys get through with some favourable refereeing. And everyone will be going on about how Messi led them through after he scored two (soft) penalties when really he did nothing all game.

edit: Lo and Behold the BBC sport headlines:

"Messi inspires Barca win over AC Milan" and "Lionel Messi was Barcelona's hero yet again as his two first-half penalties sealed a Champions League quarter-final win over AC Milan"

Not sure if the journalist was watching the same game I was.

The fact that Ferguson's teams didn't collapse is what I'm trying to get at. Pretty impressive considering what he had to work with, Rooney even took a look around Carrington last season and decided there was nothing left. They only managed to keep him with a 250k/week pay rise.

Yeah Barca had two soft penalties again but history is written by the victors and the history books will say Messi bagged a double in another CL Quarter Final. It may not seem fair but as they say, you make your own luck so it would be more unfair if you took those goals away from them. At the end of the day they have been building a team and a philosophy since the early 90s and they deserve what they get.

Speaking of which, Wenger has been building a team from the ground up since the early 2000s... Wilshere and co are the first graduates of those first seeds... Just a few more years to go then till the trophies start flowing :D

wouldn't valencia make the world XI then?

Ha. Have you heard of Arjen Robben?

Or Ronaldo, Sanchez and Silva?

Or Hazard, Gotze, Kagawa, Hulk and Pedro.

Ok you could probably argue he's better than a few of these but one of them would definitely make it ahead of him.
