All players dive and as bad as it is you've just got to accept it. I don't understand how any contact in the area counts as a foul, footballs a contact sport all over the pitch, not just outside the box!!!

Suarez started the season terribly for diving and is now paying the price for it, 9/10 times he won't win a penalty if he goes down (even if it was a foul) and he's learning from that and he is so so so much better for it now (compare Suarez diving now to Suarez at the beginning of the season). He used to be an absolute drama queen but he's sharpened up his act.

Personally, I don't think its Youngs fault, I think its Fergie being a dick (as usual). Whats bad about Young is that because this is the tail end of the season he won't build up such a bad reputation and it won't carry on to next year, in 6 months time everyone will all have forgotten about Youngs diving. Fergie knows this and is literally telling him to fall over to get the pens. Youngs never had a terrible record for diving (no worse then anyone in particular) and then suddenly he's key in two penalties which shouldn't have been.

I don't know whether Young is a worse cheater than Suarez over the course of the season, most forwards are little cheats, but Fergie takes the fucking cake.
 
how do you know what fergie says? he is known for not going public about players behaviours.
what causes diving is the fact that time and time again refs don't give fouls when the player doesn't go down. so players make a meal of the small ammount of contact.
 
Well Bayern - Madrid wasn't bad Munich deserved the win, Ronaldo yet again proves he is a small game player, Howard Webb bottled a few big decisions against Munich, no surprises with UEFA and a possible El Classico final at stake.
 
Expect Madrid to win the second leg by a large margin(atleast larger than this one).
 
Reading promoted to the Premier League. Just hope we'll still be there next season. If we don't be Swansea at home (I'm going) this Saturday, then I will very much fear relegation.
 
grats Reading. You dicked us 4-0 (4-1 maybe..?) a few years back and a man pissed in the aisle of the swansea away support bus because he couldnt be bothered to go anywhere else (as told to me at the time. thankfully i stayed home that day)
 
I absolutely hate Gary Neville as a pundit I'm afraid. He chat's some absolute nonsense at times. I saw the piece on diving and mentioned by Havak, as still wasn't 100% on what he was saying. It seemed to boil down to "everyone does it, and it wins penalties etc, so lets accept it" Why don't we ask players to man up a bit about it, and try play a contact sport? I know I'm not old, but even in my time watching football I think the Prem has got more lightweight. I hate watching divers, on my team or any other team, and I just can't agree with Gary Nevs saying we should accept it.

that rooney shinner against city is probably the most overated goal of the last decade. The Chelsea team a year after the invincibles were a better team as well.
 
Watching through those videos just made me miss so many players like Henry, Cantona, Le Tissier. All the current players seem boring, at least imo. No one appears to have a personality (unless you count Balotelli but lets just not go there). Oh and Bullard is a hero.

Pretty good article/slideshow. Thought some of you would like to see it. Also which ones do you think will actually happen?

My guesses are (using the slide number): 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 28 (note the word "try"), 29, 30, 37, 40, 41, 46, 47 and 50

I'd also like 14 and 26 to happen but somehow I doubt it.

No. 32 is goal tech, should happen but I'm close to certain it won't happen (please say I jinx it, please).

I think Harry Redknapp could well take the England job. But I'd fancy him to do it more if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League. With Arsenal losing to Wigan, I think all the teams below Arsenal will now fancy their chances even more, especially if Chelsea beat Arsenal as well. If Arsenal did beat Wigan, it would have been the top three sorted IMO, with three teams fighting for fourth. But now, it's still four times fighting for two places.

I worry for Spurs, if I'm honest. I think Manchester City will have taken note of how well Spurs can perform at times and were basically title challengers for maybe 2/3 of the season. Will they sell Adebayor to Spurs? I think they're bitter enough to not allow him to go there. I could also see the likes of Bale, Modric, and maybe van der Vaart being pinched.

However, if Spurs do finish fourth, I won't be surprised if they keep hold of all of the above bar possibly Adebayor.

I think Roberto Di Matteo might have to have an exceptional end to the season if he wants that job. Either finish fourth AND win the FA Cup, or finally produce a Champions League victory. If he does either of those he'll definitely keep it, but since the players and fans like him, who knows. Abramovich is an odd one and he might want to go for the big money manager yet again.

Balotelli, I think if Mancini keeps his job, he has to show some balls and get rid of Balotelli. If Mancini goes, then Balotelli is gone anyway. Other Man City departures will probably be Adam Johnson, maybe Nigel de Jong if he's not content with playing second fiddle to Gareth Barry lol (if he even stays). Tevez is a difficult one now, he works well with Aguero but I think he still wants out. Is it worth the risk of him spitting his dummy out again? Probably not.

Can't really be bothered to discuss many more from that article but it was a nice read and I can see a lot of it happening. However, I just want to point out that I kind of fear for Newcastle in the same way I fear for Spurs.

Now, maybe a lot of people will think this was a one season supershow from Newcastle and they won't repeat next year no matter what. However, I think they can do as well as they have again. But, if they don't finish fourth and get Champions League football, I can see certain players maybe leaving for big sums. Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Tiote for sure will be on other teams radars. If those teams can grant Champions League football, they may be tempted. Hopefully Newcastle keep them all though, it was nice to see a different team fighting for Champions League and they might still get it.
