I'm a Chelsea fan

Barcelona avatar :evan:

predicted they'd beat Barcelona and I expect them to beat Bayern too. the desire within that team is sky-high and they're riding high after that victory over Barca. they'll be revelling in their role as underdogs (which is quite frankly undeserved after their performance against Barca which was far more impressive than Bayern's vs Real). People are over-valuing the fact that Munich are at home but that didn't exactly help Man Utd last year when they effectively had that same advantage and still got thumped.

and why can't chelsea park the bus? they have the counterattacking quality to employ that strategy (see: game vs barca at stamford bridge). but i think that would be showing a little too much respect to bayern tbh...

because bayern are a team that dont pass the ball a billion times before deciding what to do with it. they will shoot from outside of the box and they have some incredible ones at that. ribery, gomez, kroos, schweiny, robben all known for their great long range shooting, and they wont hesitate to use it. the only time barcelona decided to shoot long range, messi hit the post.

oh and theyre also twenty times better at running down the wing, they are extremely explosive and will easily outpace chelseas fullbacks and cross to the giant that is gomez

I'd have my team of the year:

LB- Ca$hley, just because he's the best left back inarguably, he hasn't been outstanding during league play, but he was gold against Barca.
CBs- Kompany (duh), Coloccini or maybe Ledley King (though he's a little meh), or maybe Vermaelen
RB- Walker

Defensive Mids, because fuck 442, this is 4-5-1: Alex Song, he's just fantastic and Yaya Toure. both of these guys are capable of threatening in attack.

Central Mids/Wings-, Silva, Mata, and someone else who doesn't play on the left, unfortunately it seems like it can only be Valencia.

Striker- RVP (duh)

Bayern have only one fit centre back ahead of the final and they're best centre back's suspended so we can target that weakness on the break(although the lack of Ramires' pace sucks). This is no longer about finally winning that elusive Champions league trophy. Not anymore.Di matteo made sure of that with his clumsy decisions against Newcastle. We must win this to ensure we qualify for next season's CL.I'm sure that all the players will try their best to win it knowing that CL qualification is on the line. And off course Chelsea is one of those weird teams that have a better away form than that of home which is why we did so well in Europe to come this far.And as Di matteo said:'If we can beat Barcelona,we can beat anyone.'
Fingers crossed :P

Lol you sound like my brother. He's a United fan(atleast he says he is) but i watch more matches of theirs than he does and i know more about them.Whenever he tries to tease me he's like 'Chelsea is gay' and 'Chelsea sucks' blah blah blah since he can't make any realestic jokes coz he doesn't know shit about European soccer. It's horrible living with a glory hunter.

And if by 'gay style' you mean that we had physically stronger and taller players and a player faster than any of theirs in Ramires then yes we won't have that kind of advantage vs Bayern. We do have that defensive weakness in their backline to exploit though.

no by gay style i mean the fantastic display of (as cruyff would say) anti football vs barcelona

and ps, id say bayerns defense is stronger than barcas. boateng is in a good moment and hes taller and faster than mascherano, with lahm being the absolute best fullback in the world right now.

sorry what?

Anyway, I'd only write off chelsea since theyre missing arguably two of their most influential players (JT and Ramires) as well as ivanovic/meireles, who would probably have been backup for the first two. Ramires has been pretty much Mr. Reliable this season for chelsea, playing a large role in their big matches. I don't particularly think they have anyone at the same level, or capable of doing what he does, in the same vein that liverpool had a gaping lucas sized hole in midfield when he got injured.

JT is the commander, I'm not sure which of chelsea's centre backs are fit atm, but the argument that Bayern are missing all bar one of their CBs is kinda moot, since chelsea are in the same position. Ashley Cole can probably handle the left wing easily enough, but chelsea have had problems at right back for a while now, and with players like robben/ribery on the field, if the opposite full back isn't top class, theyre going to get torn apart.

I genuinely think that without the suspended/injured players chelsea won't be able to cope, people can say "yeah but they beat barca" all they want, but the fact is they had a full strength squad, something they don't have against bayern.

Maybe i should start adding 'born and raised in London' to my sig.Dumbasses like you might still bitch about why i don't support QPR then.......and yes i know more than you about european soccer;does that bother you?

And we are not in the same position.Luiz and Cahill are going to be fit for the final and last i checked they were playing centre half whereas Bayern's gonna have to go for a makeshift defence.

The odds are highly against Chelsea and I don't think they will be able to defy the odds. A full Bayern Munich squad, with the game in their home stadium, against a weakened Chelsea side due to yellow cards. Unless Torres decides to be a hero and score a few goals, then Munich is going to win.

p sure alaba, badstuber and gustavo are suspended for munich

you know what, i've changed my mind on the utd strip. all that stuff about the history of the city is actually pretty awesome!

What's the matter of having a barcelona avatar and being a chelsea fan ?_?

And I'm pretty sure Chelsea won't play 10-0-0 against Bayern, especially now that they aren't being able to play both Terry/Ivanovic. My main concern aren't the long shooters, but the wing plays; I don't see Cole/Bosingwa being able to stop Robben + Ribery + Lahm.

Additionally, Cahill + David Luiz are likely going to be the 2 CBs right? Cahill is very average and DL tends to go a lot to the attack, which will leave Chelsea open to Schewins long passes to Gomez, which is another issue...

dortmund are absolutely incredible, theyre playing bayern like theyre nothing. Kagawa and Lewandwoski are absolute fucking beasts, and theyre not even playing Gotze this game

Hummels is also probably one of the best defenders in the world right now.

Go Dortmund!!

double post because holy shit

dortmund are playing the most beautiful football ive ever seen, one two passes all over just toying with bayern, and then the skill with gundogan doing a no look pass a-la ronaldo/inho.

fuck this game is awesome

and now ribery scores, he just did an incredible fucking move, like, to evade a slide he moved the ball back and then pulled it with his back leg to keep running forward, then shot to the corner, incredible really

thats what chelsea needs to be wary about, their long range shooting is so good because they can make space on their own easily

and dortmund make it 5-2, rebound by neuer which piczsek receives, hes giving the play his back but still sends a beautiful cross to lewandowski, who gets his hat trick

DORTMUND CHAMPIONS YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I really hope this won't impact Bayern's confidence too much prior to the final......

Still, incredible from Dortmund. If they could hang on to more of their core, they could be a real force in Europe next year, unfortunately that looks unlikely

Theyre already fucking great, theyre the best german team by far right now, so if you consider Bayern Munich as a force, then youd be a fool not to consider Dortmund.

Just saw the highlights.Fucking incredible game.Haven't seen a better thrashing since Tottenham's 5-1 drubbing :)

Well, today is the day. We must stand up and be counted, and show them Stoke folk what were made of. Today is the day when we stay up, or we go down...
