2011 Music

I guess the last release wasnt the financial miracle everyone suggested it was if they are selling this one for 6 pounds.

6 pounds for an mp3 album.. wtf?

Actually, wow, the value of a pound is a hell of a lot less than it used to be.. Still..

Have a nice day.

I'm so profoundly happy for them. You guys have no idea. Maybe you do. I don't know. I'm so profoundly happy for them.
My happiness for them exceeds words. It's like...yea. You guys deserve it x100000000000. It's rather funny how 70% of the crowd was like "wut?!?!?" Hell AR was even like "wut?!?!?" It was just like they bitch slapped most people in the room.

I think the above comment is an insult to what Arcade Fire achieved. "wut"? "bitch slapped"? Seriously?

What they did was more or less solidify the influence of file sharing on music. They've proven that torrenting can make a band. So much for that, RIAA...

has dubstep in the us carried over as what it seems to currently be in the uk, where its basically a dick waggling contest of who can have the filthiest and biggest bass wobble and everything sounds the same?

I'm not really well versed in the Dub Step scene but this stuff is decent variety IMO.

OMG I wasn't even done enjoying In Rainbows yet and still have yet to dive into hail to the thief.

new radiohead available for download on feb 19. FUCK YES.

It's not about the fact that they won a huge honor or something, it's about the fact that they'll sell more records and more people will listen to their music.

It's exciting and I'm really, really happy for my favorite still-working band.

And The Suburbs was only my thirteenth favorite album of last year. Still.

I think the above comment is an insult to what Arcade Fire achieved. "wut"? "bitch slapped"? Seriously?
"It's nice to meet you and I respect your personal space, but I'm trying to be at a fucking Rock n' Roll show."
Win Butler disagrees. It's not an insult at all. I'll be as excited as I want to be about this. Even if I make comments you don't like. I'm just that excited and happy for them. :D

@John, exactly. It's so corny, but I want them to succeed. I know they already have, but the fact this will help them sell more makes me happy. I'm just....happy.

Radiohead you pricey sluts. If I didn't love you so much I wouldn't pre-order your damn $50 vinyl. But yes, I'm excited. I'm also disappointed. I expected them to unexpectedly announce the release of their album. I guess the kicker this time around is gonna be the "Newspaper" theme. Sounds very interesting, I need my hands on it right now.

purchased my 50 dollar newspaper album

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

also yeah arcade fire!!!!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Grammys were cool, congrats to Arcade Fire for the big win.

Have Lady Antebellum even released new music since last year? They performed the exact same song, and I swear they won awards for the same shit as last year lol.

They didn't, but the reason you're feeling that might be because "Need You Now" sounds like it might be a Taylor Swift song. My (dumb) roommate honestly thought they were doing a cover of one of her songs.

Alot of female country artists sound like they could be the same person. Actually alot of country in general sounds like it could be the same person, at least nowadays...

Just Listened to James Blake by James Blake, It was relaxing and somewhat sad, I generally liked it.

Throughout the album he uses vocal editors and uses a synthesizer and a piano to generate the sound, often using repetition but manages to still make it entertaining enough to listen.

Although I did think some songs were annoying it's quite enjoyable

Edit: Liked much more on second listen.

I hope Julian Casblancasuckface doesn't ruin this album. I want this too be good, that single provides me some hope at least.

any Pharoahe Monch fans?? his album is available for streaming (unfortunately with some annoying voice throughout, because it's only a promo copy or something)... so tempted to listen, but I'm not gonna.

Radiohead's The King of Limbs released a little over fifteen minutes ago after announcing earlier that they were releasing it 24 hours early. Listening through now. Definitely goes back to their Kid A / Amnesiac days. Has a lot more of an ambient feel than In Rainbows did. Think CD 2 of that album.

And it's short. 8 tracks. I'll post again with a full opinion later.

Oh shit.

Now, to listen, or to wait for #smogon communal listening? I did like communal first listening last time, but if I wait I will need to sleep..

Ok, I am going to listen to this 10 hours from now. Anyone who wants to join me can be in #smogon.

Also, headphones or stereo? I guess I could actually set up the surround just for this occasion, then straight away take it down again because it is big.

Have a nice day.
