2012/2013 Soccer/Football thread

epl: in chelsea, the coolest thing about having the doom triumvirate of hazard/mata/bosscar is that even if 2 of them dont shine, the other one still rapes, as mata showed today (even tho hazards assist was great).
man utd fluked away another win vs stoke but it doesnt matter, because, as i said a couple of months ago, chelsea is IMO the strongest team in the league i back them to win the league.
not surprised by arsenal losing to norwich, holt is a freaking boss too.

bundesliga: borussia lost 1-2 to schalke, but i already expected it; gundogan, schmelzer, götze, and kuba were all out of combat, theyre too important for the core.
and bayern munchen's current team is fucking rapist, imo they are going to win UCL this year (you read it here first); last year they didnt win it because gomez, ribery, robben, etc were all tired, and the signings of mandzukic / shaqiri (keep an eye out for this fella, hes a beast) solve that matter, not to mention javi martinez whos currently a top 5 CDM imo.

la liga: real madrid won against celta but even my dog predicted it and i dont even have a dog. btw, highlights for higuains fluk... i mean spetacular goal.
barca had a tough time but the beat deportivo la coruña. i figured out that barca's main defensive tribulation is not the quality of their defenders (mascherano, song, pique, etc are all good tacklers). the issue is that, without puyol, their defensive line is clueless, making them extremely vulnerable.

I don't think I've seen a player as fast as him in quite some time, he's gonna be really good really soon.

i just hate utd, i dont believe their win was a fluke either xD
but it'll be awesome when chelsea stomp them next week, oscar is going to dominate their weak ass mdfield

Seriously Oscar is all hyped, What has he done so far except for that match against Juventus?

That game... fuck Torres, that damned spanish blonde. and the worst part of it?
We have to wait until January until we can sign someone like Falcao.

alright for you, it is only strikers that are the problem, we have to wait until January for some defenders... but knowing Fergie, probably not.
Torres better be rubbish for a few more games though.

This kind of post pisses me off. WAA WAA OUR 50 MILLION STRIKER DIDNT PERFORM ONE GAME, CANT WAIT UNTIL WE GET A 70 MILLION ONE IN THE NEXT WINDOW".

Fucks sake. Id kill to see Chelsea go bankrupt.

i cant begin to imagine how it must feel to support a club where 'the worst part of it' is having to wait 2 months to trade in your £50m striker for a £70m striker. Must be nice. But I'd sooner support my players rather than slag them off and look to get rid whenever their form dips - look at Demba Ba; didn't score for half of last season but we stuck with him and he's banging them in now (sometimes in the wrong net i suppose but shit happens). Rooney's form can be a bit up-and-down too but to the Man Utd fans credit they usually stick by him. Stop being so fickle.

but seriously, torres has been disappointing for a while now, we always expect him to regain his 2007 form, but, honestly, torres is gone forever. and why is everyone always mad at chelsea? if oil tycoons didnt invest on random teams, the historic big teams would be dominant forever. EPL, for instance, would be as boring as la liga. and he said 'someone like falcao', not necessarily falcao. chelsa can do with a not-so-expensive striker like leandro damiao, lewandowski, jovetic (though this one might go expensive), etc

that said, we got some pretty surprising results in this UCL round. i expected chelsea to get a draw with shakhtar, but tbh, after what they showed last round against Juventus in turin, they really are a tough cookie, and i dont doubt anymore that they can get to the round of 16.

barcelona NEARLY choked pretty badly, so did MU. the more the ucl goes on, the more i belive Bayern are winning this year. in all seriousliness, they have probably the most complete squad, except for maybe RM.

as for the person who said 'oscar is overrated', i disagree pretty badly. oscar is the type of MF who controls the midfield, such as wilshere. BUT he also shoots, has fancy skill moves, etc. i actually thnk he's underrated as fuck, and i say that since like 4 months already

so, has anyone else got the fm13 beta? I'm preferring last year's game simply for the UI, but I'm sure I'll get used to it - and I'll be on the lookout for skins. Haven't yet delved into classic mode, don't really see the point of pretty much the same game but stripped of some of its key features (and only being able to manage in three nations is just awful) but when I feel like taking on a bigger side (I'm currently doing a save where I started unemployed with a sunday league reputation, managing an Israeli second division team) I most likely will give it a shot. Still, having fun so far!

i have it, seems good so far. a lot harder to get transfers though, made a Blackpool save, everyone i want to increase squad are either too expensive, on loan or won't come.
did manage to spend 100m as man Utd, bought Fellaini Neymar and Hummels... :P
will make a none league team at some point, because it is fun down there :D
FMC mode is like a bigger version of the mobile version, you choose which 3 leagues you want.

and back to real football.
Man Utd are almost through already, the team sat in 2nd is cluj, cant see them catching up, nor the other 2.
Hopefully that second half performance will carry over to the Chelsea match, and Chelsea carry on that losing.

more champions league action. borussia gets a reasonably expected win against real madrid, as they're unbeatable playing home (assuming theyre using full squad ofc), malaga gets an expected win against milan (goddamned berlusconi/galliani wont invest money on the team).

now arsenal... wtf was that, arsenal? but tbh schalke are doing REALLY well right now, and i didnt see the game

Didn't see the game but can pretty safely assume Gervinho was useless, Santos can't defend (or run for that matter), and the midfield (while tippy tappy and pretty to look at) defended like jelly once again.

How to fix this? Buy a good left back to compete with Gibbs and drop Santos; get Diaby, Wilshere, Chamberlain, and Frimpong back from injury and into the first team asap; buy Van Persie back!!!

OK so some of those fixes are unrealistic or out of Arsene Wenger's control, but looking at the squad out there today, you'd have to say that the left back and striker positions are in dire straits. Santos has never looked like being capable of doing his job, and you could easily argue the same for Gervinho too. I think he fluffs his shot and falls over more times than he has actually had a decent connection and managed to complete a dribble.

Well I mean I don't know about the left fullback position but I know that Arsenal seem to be quite interested in Adrian Lopez from Atletico Madrid. Wouldn't be surprised if they got him either, because while Falcao is good, we already have Giroud as a similar forward, while Lopez can actually boast some pace. He also happens to come from the same youth club as Santi Cazorla.

well, if you really think arsenal need a striker, they could try bidding on Huntelaar in january, his contract is running up and i think hes gonna go for cheap. as for LB, they can go for an underrated option such as bruno cortez / pablo armero, or players that arent guaranteed starters such as kolarov / coentrao (or is it marcelo? idk)

FYI it's not like we patronise this trend of buying big names for insane prices; In fact I wouldn't mind if Di Matteo brought in some underrated cheap player from a small club in the summer as long as he's not shit but we all know that's not gonna happen and we can't do anything to change this policy so we might as well look forward to it.Abramovich probably wants a Real Madrid or Man City-esque line up full of household names and when he wants someone even the manager can't change his mind.Who knows maybe Ancelotti tried to convince him not to buy Torres before he inevitably came to Chelsea?

Horrible game vs Shakhtar,Di Matteo should've started with Cahill instead of Terry.Had he done that I bet we would've salvaged a point atleast.Or if he wants to do that he should not play a high line coz Terry's too slow for that.
