It's good that Chelsea lost today since they are top 4 contenders but I really enjoyed it today because Assaidi scored the winner.

Lukaku, on loan from Chelsea scored against us and now we get back at them with Assaidi who is on loan from liverpool. Justice served.

Not surprised at all by this result because we just can't defend against set pieces. Although their player did score an amazing goal to win.
What surprised me was that Stoke had 11 players still on the field by the end of the game.

I think I speak for all of us (even Xhizors) when I say: GO EVERTON !

Honestly, I'm going to be supporting Arsenal... It's not like we're going to be title contenders but I think of Everton as genuine top 4 contenders so I'd rather that our real rivals lose.

Besides if we don't win the title, I would want Arsenal to win it.

edit: on second thought, a draw would probably best!

7 points clear after the weekend. Wouldn't that be just lovely.

And if we lose, nothing really changes for us(pt diff) But the real fixtures for us are on the way..so it's going to really show whether we will win the title or not. Been playing mid-table and below all season. We really need this win tomorow, the top 7 is incredibly tight.

I truly believe we will lose tomorrow, however. Lukaku is just beast as heck and will cause so many issues for us, will probably be a 3-1 loss for Ars.

We have played Liverpool and Soton at 2nd and 3rd respectively when we played them. The table is messed up anyway cause you could say we beat "midtable" Tottenham and lost to "midtable" Manchester United (which I think we ought to have won, if not for BVB away). Many of the teams are currently midtable or below after we played them and that is mostly irrelevant seeing as other teams have lost points to the same teams (case in point today). Furthermore titles are decided by the number of total wins - you don't get bonus points for beating the contenders, or lose some for beating the lower table. As long as we beat who we are meant to and nick a few points from the contenders we ought to be fine. ManU did this for years esp in i think '08.

That being said I think we'll win. I'd understand if you said Everton will nick it but I just can't see Everton outplaying us 3-1 at home. Yeah Lukaku is strong and all but I think we should be prepared to handle him; he may be strong but he's no "Arsenal-killer Drogba". I've heard and seen for myself that he has somewhat questionable decision making at times which was shown in many games. He is a great target man so we need to shore up on our set pieces otherwise we should be fine. Also we have played many of the sides just coming off fresh from a big scalp; Soton, Hull, Cardiff to name a few. I doubt Wenger and co. will underestimate Everton or the importance of the 3 points. Furthermore, Everton have just come off of Manchester United away whereas we have come from Hull City at Home. I think we'll be fresher and more ready, although Everton will have lots of confidence.

We NEED a win and I think we will play for one. Whether that translates into an actual win or a draw, I don't know but I don't think we'll lose.

Most of the world cup groups have obvious favourites, only thing I'd change is maybe going for Spain and Netherlands cos they just have too many players playing at the top level compared to Chile, as good as their team has become. I'd defo want Chile to go through though, they're a very exciting team to watch.
Other thing is I'm backing Greece and Japan out of that group, 1. cos Greece are an unbelievably well drilled team and solid as a rock which is perfect for international and tournament football, and 2. I think Colombia have maybe been a bit overhyped, I think Greece can shut them down although betting on defence is usually never a good idea. Japan is just a random punt cos they have some good players if they decide to turn up on the day.
And finally I guess I have to back England but I admit Uruguay and Italy are defo favourites. I'll say England at the expense of Italy cos I don't think they're as good or as solid as before but you never know it could be Uruguay if Suarez bites a poisonous frog and Cavani gets kidnapped on the way to the match.

Also I did the Motd challenge today and waited so long for the Arsenal - Everton game thinking it must have been the 0-0 bore draw to end all bore draws before realising they don't play til tomorrow. Great results though but I'm still nervous for tomorrow! I've got Lukaku in my fantasy team so a hat-trick might not hurt so bad, in fact it might be very welcome indeed! Oh how fantasy football corrupts the soul :D

This game is being played at an unbelievable pace. Arsenal having to nearly blast the ball at each other cos the closing down is so fast from Everton. Both teams are going forward really fast with one and two touches.

Everton can't seem to be getting their finishing off and hopefully they can't sustain this. Hopefully we hold on till then. I think I'd prefer us playing on the counter actualy.

E: Keown Pires Henry in the crowd, gd they look fantastic still..

E2: Cazorla seems to be mishitting or timing passes today apart from that great cross..

They are at the moment.

Still 0-0, and we seem to be getting back into it.. I've seen periods of domination with no end product plenty enough already to hope that about Everton so far.. hopefully I'm right

E: Take nothing from Everton, they look really great

E2: Also didn't expect Cazorla and Ramsey to play like pants today
