3v3 singles Zarator VS Rediamond

I should read ASB moves more closely... Ah well. First of all, chant a Perish Song. There's no way he can avoid hearing it, it's way too loud. Then, squeeze him around a bit with Night Shade. Finish it with a Confuse Ray. However, if he somehow avoided the first Perish Song and he's not underground (if that's the case, well... he's only taking tons of damage^^), chant Perish Song again!

Perish Song - Night Shade - Confuse Ray

If Perish Song was avoided 1st action and he's not underground, cast Perish Song again instead of Confuse Ray.

Round 8, fight!

Good grief, that Haunter is completely suicidal. With his terrible Curse failed he instead takes a deep breath and makes a horrific noise. It sounds a bit like nails on a chalkboard combined with the death rattle of some sort of beast. The noise calls forth a different kind of sacrificial bond than the last attack. Locke, steadfast despite oncoming doom, digs down and loops up to smack into Cyric once more. Determined to at least finish him off with his own power. Cyric throws a familiar beam back, a bit half-hearted knowing no matter what he was going down, and his prey with him.

With one final flourish Locke summons a great surge of psychic strength unusual for his kind and lands a fatal blow to the back of Cyric's head. The ghost floats gently down to the ground before being returned to his Pokéball. Swiftly replaced by Tiamat the Zweilous! The last of Zarator's crew. Oh! Before they could do anything Locke gently smiles then slowly collapses. The deadly ballad of Cyric caught up with him leaving Tiamat nothing to do. Congratulations Zara- wait, restrain that creature before she accidentally eats that Pokémon!

Congratulations to Zarator for being the winner of this match!

Good battle guys. Rediamond was at a disadvantage with his mostly unevolved team but the Vulpix really pulled her weight and Mankey performed admirably. A single team member switch may have turned the tables on this one. Zarator's team is pretty scary overall. I might have to challenge him sometime when I get my team running properly.

Mankey: 1EC, 1MC, 1DC + 1KO
Nuzleaf: 1EC, 1MC, 1DC + 1KO

Reasons for Perish Song going off earlier and Zarator's Zweilous getting participation credit is here!

Perish Song: Death sentence (3 actions), 15 energy.
Night Shade: 10 dmg, 6 energy.
Confuse Ray: KOed
Total: 10 dmg, 21 energy.

Nuzleaf, 60 spe, Early Bird/Chlorophyll
Dig: ((8 + ((4 - 2) * 1.5)) * 1.5), 16 dmg, 6 energy.

Dig: No opponent.
Total: 32 dmg, 12 energy.

Other
10 dmg to Nuzleaf via digging.

Perish song should have gone on to the next round but since Rediamond has no way to remove or defend against a death sentence it was a foregone conclusion that Locke would faint almost before Zarator's last Pokémon could do anything. I felt it better off not to draw it out and merged the start of the last round with this round. Feel free to call me out on this if there's any complaints.

Well, I was honestly going to forfeit after round one of Mankey vs. Haunter, so cutting it short just makes sense. Good game Zarator, and a nice battle indeed. Just for reference, I have lost every battle without Ralts/Kirlia, and won every time I've used her. Maybe i should take the hint...

Regardless, nice rematch, and probably how the first match should have ended. Once we both get fully evolved teams, we need to battle again, Zarator.
