5th Gen OU Analysis Index - 89 BW2 Revamps On Site!

You'd PM Jabba to see if he wants to even still write the analysis and if he says no then you contact someone in charge and tell them that you're taking over the analysis.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but Rhyperior occupies this strange grey area: it is not on the list of "What aren't we writing about" yet it also isn't up for reservation (not that I have any desire to write about him.) If there are no plans for an OU analysis, perhaps there should be:
While his abysmal speed, special defense, and defensive typing hold him back greatly, one cannot argue against the merits of one of the better physical move pools in the game featuring stab on QuakeEdge, as well as the effective supporting coverage moves of Megahorn, Hammer Arm, Superpower, Crunch, Aqua Tail, Avalanche, Focus Punch, Payback, and the Elemental Punches, hitting off a colossal base 140 base attack stat.
Also, while the aforementioned special defense and poor defensive typing will always let him down, these are somewhat compensated for by his massive base 115 HP, Solid Rock, and the special defensive boost provided by the rampant sandstorms raging throughout most OU matches. His physical defense does not even need investment, as it sits at a high base 130. If one would like to attempt the unlikely sweep, they can run Rock Polish or Curse, or if wall breaking is what they desire, than Swords Dance can do that trick nicely. If one wishes to use him for those titanic physical defensive stats and Solid Rock, he has many effective supporting moves such as Roar, Dragon tail, Stealth rock, and even the gimmicky (but still effective given the right circumstances) Counter.

Rhyperior hardly takes the Standard meta game by storm (I believe he is UU by usage) but that doesn't change the fact that while he will never be top tier OU material due to his typing, special defense, and speed, he can certainly cause plenty of mayhem if played carefully due to the aforementioned positive traits that he possesses.

Again, sorry if this is being posted in the wrong thread, but it did not seem like it belonged on the "what aren't we writing about" thread, as it technically is not on that list. This was more checking to see if this was oversight/attempting to make an effective argument for its inclusion all in one post.

@JimboSlice: Rhyperior is not in any "grey area" - it is simply that the list in that thread has not been updated. Rhyperior originally had an analysis, it wasn't arbitrarily rejected, but the QC team determined that it was ineffective in OU and did not deserve an analysis at all. If you really must know their reasons for rejecting it so that you can argue for its inclusion, you can look in the original Rhyperior thread, which can be found in the "QC Rejected Analyses" section of the OP of this thread, which you might have found had you looked there before posting.

The OP of the Electivire thread has not been active for the last two months, and the analysis has only been updated before these two months.

Also, 90.34%. We're getting there.

Awww....

What do I do then? I wanna do the analysis when DW Serp is released. Someone else might get it!!

Why can't reservations be made? I promise to see it through!

That's kind of the thing... it's sort-of first come first served as per who gets the analysis if and when DW Serperior is released. We don't even know if it will ever be released, and it isn't really fair to accept "probable reservations" like that, any more than it is to accept the first person to post once it does become available.

In any case, if we were taking reservations in advance like that, there are already countless numbers of people who have at some point in the past said "I'm reserving Jaroda" or "I'd like to do it when it comes out" and been told "no, you can't". It's not really fair to change the rules like that. Not to mention that if we were going to change it, then first priority would have to go to the person who wrote the original Serperior analysis at the beginning of BW (which according to the index is shrang).

So yeah.

Also @AG, there are a number of analyses that are currently somewhat static - if you want to take them over then by all means PM a C&C moderator. Things have slowed a bit recently, as I'm sure you're aware, and we know that most of the unfinished analyses are a tad out of sorts, but I'm pretty sure that most of them are still being worked on. Granstafer's, probably not.

I am posting to say that JabbatheGriffin has given me permission to take over Deoxys-S. I will get to work on it as soon as possible.

EDIT: Done and uploaded to site.

Hey everybody

The thread looks a lot cleaner now

We didn't beat the programmers, but we're still very nearly done

Keep at it, and all that

Just wanted to say it's great seeing the analyses up on the main site. Being a contributor to the new generation with 4 analyses on site and also being a first rime contributor to the site...it just feels good, ya know?

Hear, hear.

So on behalf of your own time and stress, BMB, I'm guessing we have to finish all the unfinished OU analyses before moving on to new individual movesets. Updates for BL / OU will be listed in another index thread, if I'm correct (hence the title "Analysis index").

Taking over Yanmega from Noog and running it through QC again at Fate's request.

Hey Fate,

I was just wondering if I could take over Yanmega? I've used it extensively, and I know I could do a good write-up. I've already PM'ed SDS and Setsuna regarding the matter, but they have yet to respond since this afternoon. If you would allow me to rewrite the analysis, I would be more than happy to.

Thanks

SDS has expressed doubts about yanmega in OU, so while you can take over yanmega, i'd like you to put a skeleton through QC again

Just want everyone to note that if anybody wants to take over JT Swift's Breloom set then they can do so (apparently) - it may not pass QC but since it hasn't been formally rejected yet, technically it's still up in the air...

I'd like to reserve Feraligatr if possible. I didn't see it on the "Unfit for OU" list, and even if he was deemed to be there, I'm ready to argue why he shouldn't.

Pretty sure that people have brought up Feraligatr in the past in the other thread, and the response was something along the lines of "well when Sheer Force is released, then maybe". I'm also fairly sure that the other list is not entirely up to date - there are quite a few Pokemon that are not on that other list that nonetheless do not have analyses. Braviary springs to mind from memory. Rhyperior isn't either.

It'd probably be better to gauge opinion with the QC team before posting it, or at least post in the other thread for a response from SDS, but since I don't have the authority to make any sort of decision regarding its legality, I'll leave your path of action up to you.
