5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

If it's raining before the roamer comes there's no way you're starting in the 500s.
No rain before the roamer comes=450-750
Snow=750-1000
Rain=1400+ (rain is highly unstable; could be as high as 1900)

Yeah, I luckily found a new seed, though (In Autumn, and this time I made sure there's no weather before Thundurus comes). The only problem is the target frame is 1349, but I'm willing to do a ton of advancements. I'm about to try and find my Starting frame now...

Seed: 743CFF9DC31CAA06
30/27/30/31/31/31
Frame 10 (Does the IV frame effect anything?)

Target PID: 1349 D:

You really should have RNG'd your ID/SID. Trying to keep track of what frame you're on is going to suck. :|

Maybe try doing your advances in 100s and figure out where you're landing after each additional 100 (of course you have to find your starting frame first).

No IV Frame 10 doesn't matter. It just means more work for you.

I know, that would have been way easier, but back when I RNGd my ID/SID I had no intention of catching a shiny roamer (Iirc, I didn't even think it was possible). And now I have too many pokemon to transfer, and no where to transfer them too (I have 2 DS's, but only one G5 game cart) :x

Yeah, I think I'll do that. This is going to be really time consuming but Idc. If this seed fails me, I give up xD I don't need a shiny roamer, I just want one to say I abused one on a Game Cart. :P

Edit: Ok, I have no idea why, but it's raining even though the month is autumn. It wasn't raining before, but once I walked out the old lady's home, it was raining. So then I changed the month to spring, and it still rained. Then winter, but it snowed. I'll just find a winter seed with a high PID.

Does anyone know if there's a way to see through Researcher or something which frames would hold Pokémon while abusing for a Swirling Dust Drilbur?

It's really not necessary to try to find out which frames get you a Drillbur. I've abused two Swirling Dust Drillbur both from trial and error, and it honestly didn't take too long.

Just get a seed with a high enough frame so that advancing it will produce a swirling dust cloud; bring a Chatot and a synchronizer. Walk the same exact path each time, adding on one Chatot summary view each attempt before making the final step into the dust cloud. Keep doing that and you'll get your Drillbur. Make sure you don't save the game at all so you start off in the same exact spot facing the same exact direction.

Even when going for a shiny?

If you're going for shiny you could use the same procedure you did for thundurus, uploading the one you caught to pokecheck to find the frame you hit and abuse your id again.

Anyone know how many pokemon I need to have when walking to advance the frame to 18?

I assume that since I start with +1 frame, having 6 pokemon and walking 128 steps = frame advancing by 7?

You start from frame 1, so you need to advance 17 frames, there are two ways to do so:
You either walk 17 * 128 steps with 1 poke in party
or withdraw 1 random poke from the box (+7) and then (with 2 pokes in party) walk 5 * 128 steps.

Is there anyone here with experience manipulating a Black or White TID/SID combo that can answer some questions? Specifically, I'm confused about how things like Timer0 factor into it; it and other DS parameters appear on the Pandora's Box window, yet if I'm starting a new game with a new cart, wouldn't I be unaware of those things? Do I have to start a new game, calibrate the system, then delete that file and use the data I got from the calibration to RNG my TID/SID on a new file?

That's the idea. Technically those can be found by starting the game a few times and checking your ID. I had a working version of that but the project got axed from my Toronto list because.. well.. I don't remember why.

Does evolving Nincada into Shedinja advance the IV frame by 7, since it adds an extra Pokemon to your party? Or no?

Thanks in advance!

Need some help again:

So I am calibrating RNG Reporter (gonna be using standard non-C-Gear seed), and I caught a pokemon at the last cave of victory road. I entered the time, mac addy, and IV's into the reporter, but it is not finding any seeds at all.

I have no idea what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

Okay, that makes sense. I guess I put the TIDs I get in the central column and figure things out from there. Thanks!

You're doing something wrong. You haven't given enough details for me to figure out what it is.

Random guesses:
*Check MAC Address again
*Make sure you're getting the correct time (down to the second) from the DS clock. Just watch the seconds hand and make note of what time you press A to start up the game cartridge.
*Don't press any buttons until the Game Freak logo come on.
* Use the Calculator in RNG reporter to check IVs (under pokedex IV checker)
*Don't ever turn on the c-gear.

For the time I start the game it was 19: 57: 0, i get a woobat. Calc its IV's, then punch in the IV, date and time i started the cartridge. Then I got to search and it searches and nothing comes up.

19:57:00? You realize you have to wait an entire minute to hit 00 seconds? By the time you set the clock and turn off/on the DS the seconds hand is probably already at 5 or more seconds so to hit 19:57:00 you'd need to set the clock to 19:56 and wait an entire minute.

Can you elaborate a little on this? I've started my game a few times (At the same time for each attempt) and none of the IDs I've gotten appear to register. It seems I need to already have my DS parameters inputted in order to even find what seed I hit. (This doesn't make much sense, which is why I'm assuming I did something wrong)

If you have the time, or anyone for that matter who has had experience with 5th Gen TID/SID manipulation, could you elaborate on the process? Thanks.

Hello

I am new to RNging and I have a Supercard DStwo. I am wondering how can I find my timer0 when I can;t see the seconds on the main menu of the flashcart?

Read his post again. He said he was working on it but "...the project got axed..." meaning he never completed it (it's not a part of pandora's box).

You could figure it out through trial and error (timer0 is really the only thing you might have to do a lot of guessing for) but it might be easier to play through the game until you get far enough so that you can catch a decent level Pokemon and find your parameters (or just use pokecheck so the level doesn't matter).

Sync your DS clock with another clock. That way you can use the other clock to tell the DS time when you can't see it. You can use your computer clock. Just make sure the seconds match up.

EDIT: Also IIRC some flashcarts have an autoload option. That would work too.
