5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Unless you didn't mark something in the Reporter it seems like you're just not hitting your seed... a lot. Keep trying. Your timer0 might be messing you up unless you only have one.
 
so I saved in front of the guy with the egg, and when I load the game, I flip my chatots and then take the egg and hatch it...is something else required to hit my seed?

I think I get confused maybe because there are two kinds of frames? IV frames and PID frames?

I don't know...I realized after my last post that my ds parameters are correct - I was able to RNG capture what I wanted.

So I think I just don't know how to do this breeding stuff.
 
You won't have to worry about the IV frames as RNG reporter always assumes that for breeding you'll always be starting from no IV frames advanced. Basically that means don't walk around and stuff.
 
that's what I thought....but that being said, that means that if I hit my seed, then I should have the IV spread I'm lokoing for every time, right? And if I miscounted the chatots, or the npcs changed stuff, then that'd just be a problem with teh shiny/nature/ability/gender, right?


I guess that means I've been having trouble hitting my seed. But apparently I only have trouble hitting the seed with breeding.


and as for the initial frame, I just have to copy and paste the full seed into the reporter window and click the find initial PIDRNG frame button, right? And if I hit my IV seed, then that initial frame is what it should start on every time, plus the additions from the NPCs, of course. So if I take the egg without doiing any chatots, then it should be somewhere in those first few frames?

Not necessarily. Inheritance is determined by the PIDRNG, so if the seed and/or either parent doesn't have all perfect IVs, then you could get the wrong IVs passed down.
 
Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this question belongs here, but I wanted to ask something about Non-C Gear RNG abuse on a flashcart like the R4. The thing is, I have RNG'd before, used it to catch flawless pokemon and hatch flawless shinies. However, the stuff I did was a long time ago and I did it all in just a few days. Now, after a long time, when I decide to get back, my old seeds no longer work. Heck, I can't even seem to calibrate my game on the reporter. At first I thought it was because of the weird game mechanics involved in getting rid of the fog in Giant Chasm, but later on when I tried catching a Pokemon elsewhere to calibrate the game, it didn't work! So, for flashcart users like me, do the variables change over time? I realize that between then and now, I have added and removed many things from the cart and the memory is probably not the same as it was before. Still, I can't seem to get calibrated. Any remedies/answers for my issue?

I didn't even know flashcart abuse on 5th Gen was possible. I must be a dumbass lol.
 
I read somewhere that the problem can come from using a different firmware than the one you used the last time you RNGed.
try to calibrate at the usual spot, that is at the entrance of the victory road's cave in which stands komor, using sweet scent as soon as possible after the game is loaded (remember not to press any key when opening the game until the game freak's animation begins).

Yeah okay, I'll try again. Damnit, I had an all 31 seed at frame 1 on my old parameters :( Ugh, hope lady luck loves me again.
 
HEEEELP.....

Hey one thing if I keep getting one second after the one i inputed then what should I do? and I am not sure what to do. Maybe someone could explain? Oh and do I use the number I got to fill both lines (in Timer0, VCount and VFrame) The only two times I managed to get it a second from the second I entered it my numbers were CF8, 60, C and C47,60,4. What do I do? ( I need it oversimplified, as you can probably see)

Does someone know how many frame does wandering NPCs advance per turn or step? I plan to use those because my frame is too high, and I'm on a place with just 1 wandering NPC. Thanks! :)
 
Adding to what Voodoo said, you can't predict how many frames the WNPCs will advance by unless you're on an emulator. Either find a lower target PID or use Chatots to advance to that high PID (I've gone up to ~900 with Chatot). :]
 
OK. Anyway, does the starting frame (the one that appears when you clicked the "Calculate Initial PIDRNG" button) became the initial frame? This applies for the PIDRNG. Thanks! :)
 
That will be the initial frame as long as there are no wandering NPCs and you don't advance the IV frame at all. If either of those are the case, you will probably have to find it manually.
 
Hi, I was wondering in Heart Gold when you get the Tyrogue from the Karate Master what kind of RNG method is it, and is it Syncable?
 
Hi having problems using chatot and chatter i've never used chatot with chatter to advance rng 1 frame so not sure how to go about it? As every time i press a to bring up summary and then press a to chatter it asks me to speak into microphone and it says it will forget saying it now knows? Also i can never heard what i recorded and so going round in circles re-recording a chatter which i can never heard maybe mic on phat ds is broken. So can i just advance rng by just pressing x to bring up menu then press a on party pokemon screen then press a on chatot which brings up summary screen with chatter fly switch etc as otherwise when i press chatter i will have to record a saying everytime i use chatter is that normal way?

No, no, no. The way people use Chatter is to listen for its cry at the status screen, AFTER recording a chatter. That's when the +1 occurs.

Even if your mic is broken, if you go to your Chatot's status screen, and you hear nothing instead of the usual Chatot cry, you can be certain that the RNG is advancing.
 
Sorry Omegadonut for being a nugget what do you mean status screen. so i'm in front of uxie if i wanted to advance to an early even frame for example target frame 2 ( i have no roamers) uxie starts monster frame 1 (i know that journal advances by 2 so dont want that to pop-up) what did you mean status screen? I'm in front of target so from pressing x to bring menu up then what. Sorry for being a novice any help would be great
 
1) You're in the wrong thread. This is for 5th gen only, and you're talking about stuff in Diamond\Pearl\Platinum.
