5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Quick and possibly stupid question-how long does it generally take Time Finder to find a good shiny egg frame?

I'm searching one month, with a 5-flawless spread, Everstone'd nature, DW ability, flawless parents, 0-3 keypresses, max advances 300, ID/SID inputted. It's been running for an hour and only ~10% finished searching.

My friend implied that it shouldn't take this long, and I'm not running RNG Reporter on a netbook or anything. Anything I could be doing incorrectly, or should I just be patient?

patience is what you want.even though its 10% ,within that there are a LOT of seeds.just do some other work while it searchs.oh and if one of your parent is ditto it will not show any result with DW ability.

You shouldn't need exact IVs (just put in the range the calculator gives you), so don't worry too much about that. It seems like you're doing everything right, so it's possible you entered something incorrectly (for instance, someone a while ago had trouble because they accidentally put O instead of 0 in their MAC address). Double-check everything you typed in, and try posting a screenshot of the parameter finder.

Also, make sure the date you have in the parameter finder is the same date your DS is set to. Maybe you forgot to do that (you mentioned setting the DS time, but nothing about the date).

I figured out what was wrong. I was using a 12-hour clock instead of 24-hour clock. I tried again today, and on a whim decided to type in 13:44:25 instead of 1:44:25 in RNG Reporter. And what do you know, I got my seed! Thanks for all the help, you two. Appreciate it. :)

Does anyone have an opinion on the fact that out of 12 calibrations my Timer0 has alternated C7C and C7D every single time without fail?

Also.. what does RTC stand for.. I feel like I should know this but don't remember..

About timer0, you are probaply inconsistent at your timing, so it keeps changing. And RTC = Real Time Clock, if im not wrong.

I've been changing my time on purpose, except once, where I did the exact same date and time and it turned out being the same. I'm just calibrating to see which timer0 happens more often.. it's just odd the it's perfectly alternated between the 2 timer0s. I was just wondering if anyone thought anything of that.

Okay, so unsurprisingly I'm still having trouble. I set up my DS parameters, follow the Smogon guide, RNG Reporter's 'time finder' function generates a sizable list of nearly perfect Pokemon. I try one, and the Golbat I catch is not even close to perfect. I try again, and catch the exact same Golbat. After the initial awe of being able to sort of control Pokemon generation, I got rather annoyed. I try a dozen more combinations. None of them work.

I've set 'keypresses' to 3. For some reason, if I check only None, 1, 2, some combination of those three, or even all 4 (None, 1, 2, and 3), RNG Reporter generates nothing. It seems that I can only get hits if I check 3 keypresses.

I've set min/max frame to 1 (meaning there is a 1 in both boxes). Method is 'IVs (standard seed)'. Encounter type is 'wild pokemon'. Encounter slot, nature, ability, ration are 'any' or in the case of that last value 'all ratios'. Month/year are March 2012.

Since I'm in Kyurem's cave, the most common Pokemon are Golbat, Sneasel, and Piloswine. With that in mind, I've set 31 ivs on all stats except sp. def. I tried setting 31 ivs to all stats, but as with the keypresses problem, nothing is generated.

My differential is 1, so I'm starting the game exactly 1 second before the time specified by RNG reporter. Immediately after I press A, I hold down the 3 buttons given in RNG Reporter. When the white Nintendo logo appears, I let go of all buttons as fast as I can, and wait until N's coronation scene. I'm don't turn on C-Gear and sweet scent right away. I'm saved right in front of Kyurem, but I don't think that should be a problem...

Bug Report (I think) and a question.
When I use Pandora's Box to abuse my starting (S)ID, I can't see any shiny starter seeds. All of them say "False", even one I previously found (but I now can't hit my Timer0 that I calibrated, it's 1 below) now shows up as False. I can provide a screenshot/more info if required, as I can't see anything incorrect.
On the same sort of subject, if I do hit my seed and get my ID, can I save in front of the box and use regular techniques to advance my frame (probably just save again) and get my hex-flawless IVs? I'm assuming it uses Gen 5 (Standard) Gift?
EDIT: Went back and checked in 9.81 Beta and couldn't find any shiny starter seeds. I might be doing something wrong since I think I found it on 9.81. My previous question still stands though :)

it's better to hold the buttons until the game freak animation begins. after that, you can do whatever you want. I do it like this every time and I never miss a seed (when the timer0 doesn't change randomly).

Alright, so I am searching for a shiny spread for a Cofagrigus. I got my standard seed pretty solidly. It's on frame 6, needs a bold synchronizer, it's a wild pokemon (cave spot), and the shiny frame is at 260. So then I went back and searched for shiny only in the PIDRNG and got this. Frame 52089, chatot pitch low(3), encounter slot 5, and nothing in cave spot. What does this all mean? Do I have to do 3 chatot pitches? Or do I have to advance the frame 52089 times? xD

Yes! It worked! Thank you! Caught a Piloswine and with the exception of sp. def., every iv is 31. This RNG abuse is quite nifty. ;D

RNG Reporter 9.95 is up.

Mostly bug fixes. The big addition is the Entralink seed search tool, which will be used for targeting specific natures on Entralink Pokemon. Users Zari and Princess_Emily are working on guides.

- Added: Instant search for 4th Gen Wondercard IVs
- Added: Entralink Seed Search tool
- Added: Chained shiny spread search (spreads only; does not search for low-chain shiny appearances)
- Improved: Time Finder and Main Window Tab order changed to a more intuitive format
- Fixed: Display Parents in Search now lists Speed\SpAttk\SpDef in correct order
- Fixed: IVs to PID no longer causes a crash
- Fixed: 5th Gen fast searching no longer misses out on slightly-flawed physical spreads
- Fixed: Cute Charm in 5th Gen previously listed every spread as affected by Cute Charm
- Fixed: Corrupt configuration files now correctly deleted instead of causing a program crash
- Fixed: Pandora's Box no longer subtracts 2000 from delay for 4th gen searches
- Re-Added: GxStat input boxes

Known bugs due to missing research:
- Bug-Catching Contest and Safari Zone shows correct encounter slots but spreads for each frame may be incorrect
- Some Black\White successful fishing frames may actually be "Not a nibble"
- Cave Spots may sometimes produces Everstones and King’s Rocks instead of the listed item

Indeed thank you.

I would like to note that even though I updated to 9.95 it keeps telling me that I need to update it every time I start it up. I've deleted it and unzipped it twice and it's still doing it. Not a big deal but I thought I should post that here, maybe I just need to restart my comp or something.

On another note, I just realized the DS Parameters Setup has a spot for a Timer0 Min and Timer0 Max, what does that mean? I thought you could only use one at a time, does it then search both? I got 2 about 50/50 so that would be cool.

New page.

Wait wait wait...why are you going for a shiny frame that high? Maybe an image to show what you mean?

I can't post pictures since I'm using Smogon on my phone and using my laptop for RNG reporter because I can't connect to my Wifi for some reason. Anyways, I'm not sure everytime I search I get my shiny frame in the high 200's. Am I doing something wrong?

And I still keep getting my PIDRNG encounter slot to be one greater than my Standard seed encounter slot. Do I just not worry about encounter slot for the pidrng?

I would like to add that this also happens to me (my initial reaction was similar as well, delete and re-unzip).

Also, it gives you a range of Timer0 values to choose from on the DS Parameters Setup page because it searches between all possible values - when you input the IVs and time/date - to determine which value of Timer0/GxStat/Vframe is appropriate to your unique DS/Game combination.

In any case, it's convenient for me that they've updated the reporter with an entralink natures function on the second day of me attempting to get a DW Gyarados with bounce. I'm consistently hitting the delay for a spread of 31/31/31/4/31/31, I'm using a time/date that coincides with a standard seed cluster of jolly natures at around 101-105, but I can't for the life of me figure out how I'm supposed to pinpoint those frames, but I suspect that I simply don't understand the use of the entralink seed search function..
