5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Question about Entralink Nature abuse: is it absolutely necessary to only have ONE Pokemon in forest in order to attempt it? I have about 25 pokemon left in it, so I don't see that number coming down anytime soon....

Already tried that but the DS clock glitches at some point and it ends up getting completely out of synch with the Eon Timer :pirate:

Try using your phone's stopwatch or some online stopwatch. I've never seen the DS clock "glitch" before.

I actually did it with 3 that weren't all sent to the deep clearing. The thing is that you just have to account for the fact that they're going to advance it. If you do it right they should advance it a consistent amount. It's also pretty nice if you find an Entralink standard seed with like 6 natures in a row (not actually that hard with a 1-3 keypresses search).

That's good to know. And I think you're right about it advancing consistently.

Atm, I'm Entralink abusing for Vulpix, yet when I do hit the seed, I ended up hitting Adamant 4 times and Naive twice out of 9 or 10 times. I even tried waiting like 5 seconds one time, and I still got Adamant. I feel so trolled -_-

That's why I was considering looking into Nature abuse, but I dunno how. I heard mention of Zari's guide, but it's incomplete atm.

You can just move the Pokémon into the Deepest Clearing by selecting "No" when it tells you the Pokémon would like to join your party. You can move them back to the entrance of the forest as well by doing the same once they're in the Deepest Clearing.

I have RNG'ed a couple of pokemon using the standard seed, so I am somewhat familiar with RNG reporter. Now I am trying to RNG starters through breeding. I have a ditto with known IV's. The problem is that all directions I have seen online say to go to a "4th/5th gen Egg finder" tab, which I cannot find in 9.95. Am i doing something wrong?

That's slightly outdated. Just open 5th gen Time Finder and go to the "Eggs" tab.

Sometimes when you hold buttons, it forces certain Timer0s to occur more than others, usually higher Timer0s will happen more than lower Timer0s. This is commonly the case on a regular DS and DSLite.

Thank you so much for mentioning that, I am on an R4 and Timer0 usually fluctuates between 3 values (it was impossible to hit any seeds). After using a single button as you suggested I have had over 90% chance of getting the exact same Timer0 every time and I can now hit all seeds without issue.
Heres some actual data on this, spaces mean change of target seed.

Code:
B99
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E

B9E
B9E
B9E
B9E

B9E

All tries that ended up with B9E as Timer0 were a successful hit. Notice how I managed to hit my target 9 times in a row, all this thanks to a single button hold.

Im RNG breeding and the DW ability is affecting the nature even though I have a everstone. Its a male DW pokemon for egg moves breeding with a ditto. Why is the DW ability affecting the nature?

How do you know the DW ability is what's affecting the nature? And what do you mean by "affecting the nature"?

Ive used this seed with a DW male poke for egg moves before and the same exact thing happened.

What "thing" is happening? Could you post the seed and your target frame, and the frame you hit? Or, if you can't figure out the frame you hit, could you post all the details of the egg you hatched (nature, ability, gender, characteristic)? Also, the parents IVs.

I guess you could try finding a seed without an everstone but I still don't see how using an everstone would cause problems when there are other factors to help determine the frame you hit.

Can someone please explain to me what the "Chatot pitch" means in the 1.10 version of PPRNG?

When you use a Chatot to advance the PIDRNG frame you can sorta hear how high or low the pitch is. With a bit of practice you can use it to identify what seed you're on by recognizing a pattern.

i'm trying to rng a flawless sigilyph, with magic guard.

i've got my spread and synchronizer, but am having troubles getting one to appear.

i've rng'd in the past, but am now having problems with encounter slots. basically, i don't know how they work.

the pokemon im looking for should appear in encounter slot 5, and when i put that into RNG reporter, it gives me a seed to work with. although the seed does not generate the pokemon i'm looking for.

i figure this is either attributed to npcs moving in the area (while the season is being displayed) or because it is sandstorming (i could stop this, though).

i suppose my question is: am i able to accurately influence the encounter slots? is there something in particular that they're are dependent on? do they change at regular intervals? do they just change with the PID?

this information seems rather basic, but i cant find it anywhere.

thanks!

The weather, I believe, alters the RNG so the first thing you have to do is stop it. Encounter slots are indeed influenced by the PID. To advance the frame you can either, save or view a chatots summary who has a customized chatter. Just advance to the frame prior your target frame and sweet scent. I don't know if there wandering NPCs in that area but if there are they might be also advancing your frame.

Hi, I'm using Rng reporter version 9.95 BETA and I keep trying to do my parameters search and its not working. I start my game at the time and date i enter on the main ds menu and don't press any buttons until press start comes up. I've entered in my version type mac address etc. Im trying catch the wild cobalion in my game to get my parameters, and when I do, enter its stats to find its IV's then press search, no results come up? any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Aren't you supposed to find your parameters capturing a wild pokemon? Cobalion is a stationary. I would go to the last cave in victory road and do the same you're currently doing it only this time you would have to sweet scent to find a pokemon.

Stationary Pokémon work perfectly fine as well.

Shiny Dream World Pokemon

Is it possible to get a Shiny pokemon from the Dream World through the Entralink? If so, how do I RNG for it? I can't seem to select the "Nearby Shiny Frame" box in Time Finder for C-gear abuse.

No, it's not possible. The Pokemon in the entralink have a shiny check. Even if you hit your shiny frame, the RNG will skip that frame to prevent the Pokemon from being shiny. If you want shiny Pokemon with their DW abilities you'll have to breed. :)
