Advice needed... how do I get over it?

Yeah say that I have no life, unable to move on or whatever... but last year I did something terrible (Can't reveal... really personal...) and my best friend was the one in trouble. No, I did not put the blame on her, people just suspected she did it. I did admit I was the guilty person, not her, and I apologized to her but we never really talked much. Then I moved out to another school, found her on Facebook, added her, then I got blocked by her. It is not the block that hurts, it is the fact she apparently is still mad at me (Although she never really showed it...) about that incident, and she happens to be my best friend. And I can't keep contact anymore because she blocked me... how to get over this? I just want to move on with my life but I don't know how.

Well. Before this topic gets closed, we can't really help you if you don't explain to us what exactly happened.

And what could possibly be so big that a girl took the blame for you?!?

As a general tip, if you blame something unspeakable on your best friend, they're not exactly going to forgive you quickly. You shouldn't expect her to. It's rather unlikely she'll be your "best friend" anymore. You fucked up.

As for moving on, get her out of your mind. She doesn't seem to want anything to do with you, so do what you can to avoid thinking of her until you're not emotionally attached anymore.

Start playing WoW or MW2. It will completely monopolize all your free time and you'll be unable to think about anything else.

While obviously a sarcastic answer, it's not completely without merit. Burying yourself in a project or something is probably the quickest way to get over someone. Just be sure the project is something you can give up and / or continue to live without. Example: Don't pick up WoW if you're a grad student.

You gotta accept reality and move on. It is her right to not like you anymore, just as it's your right to not like her anymore. There are too many things that you can do beside worrying about a lost cause. This would be a great opportunity to personally reflect and find ways to improve yourself.

No I didn't blame her, other people did, because they assumed she did it. So yeah, but I will get over it...

I already got a new best friend, thanks guys.

Best friends are not made overnight. Often it seems destined, but you have to give it time.

I would go talk to your old best friend in person and force the issue of whatever happened that shouldn't have (more info would be wonderful). Get it out there and force an opinion out of her. AFTER you know what that person thinks, you can move on with your life. The doubt is what kills me. I was suicidal for about a week a year ago. The only thing that stopped me was that it would hurt, and I'm a wimp. But after I talked to the person, I decided that I could move on and live life well.

If you can get over it, do so and keep it in mind for the future. When someone gets wrongfully blamed, step up and inform whoever is placing that blame that it was you. This might make you a stronger person in the future.

Yeah I guess.

To help me get over it, I was listening to these songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z4xPU0eMPg

Ashley Tisdale - Over It

Jordan Pruitt - Over It

Although ironically she should be listening to them because I was the one who hurt her... indirectly.

I would just try to forget about her completely and continue with the rest of your life until shes ready to forgive you

Kill everyone who she is in contact with (bar yourself), that way she has to acknowledge you as a human being.

I've had this happen to me before a few times, but I have a mindset that's used to cutting losses whenever necessary, so it was no biggy. My advice is to reframe your thinking into something like this:

1) Whatever happened, I've apologized, and I stand by my apology.
2) If she won't accept it, then there is nothing further that I can do.
3) Her mental state is not my responsibility.
4) I shouldn't be dependent on her approval to prosper as a human being.

You can stop here, or you can indulge in a bit of catharsis. Tell yourself that she's a douche, and that you deserve better. One thing's for certain, though: don't listen to music that resembles what you're going through. All it does is make those thoughts more salient in your mind.

You heard those songs? I guess you did. Thanks for the advice.

Well, I checked out the songs, but I don't really like them, musically speaking. If you like them, though, then by all means listen to them. I'm just saying that you shouldn't use them for any therapeutic effects.

Music to make you feel better is pretty much the reason anyone ever made music. Don't read into the songs too much and listen to what makes you feel better.

It sounds like the issue's something serious enough that you should deal with it somehow.

Move on, things like these happen, We don't live in a perfect world.

Try to participate in activities that will take your mind off of what happened. Such as: Playing Pokemon, hanging with friends, seeing a movie, watching funny T.V. shows/videos, etc.

Maybe some psychological counseling could help too if your mood doesn't seem to be improving.

Apologize, and if she ignores it, then move on. Doing something to keep your mind off things, and if possible, find some new friends. That can help keep your mind off it.
