I suppose this at least resolves how to implement all the legendaries with extra formes tied to held items.

It potentially feels unnecessary to have the Equipment subtype for items that consume themselves in response to field effects (terrain seeds and Booster Energy), since I would expect them to be equipped only right before they are sacrificed. Speaking of Booster Energy, it needs a decision on whether Paradox mons are going to have an identifier beyond the Robot/Dinosaur creature type.

And of course, it's time for the best item tech: poisoning yourself.
Proposed Toxic Orb: At the beginning of your upkeep, put a -1/-1 counter on the equipped creature
Proposed Poison Heal: when [Gliscor] would gain one or more -1/-1 counters, it instead gains +0/+2 until end of turn
Proposed Toxic Boost: -1/-1 counters on Zangoose instead give +1/-1

Edit: there's also the question of how much should berries be related to Food tokens. This would be relevant for mons with Harvest, Unnerve, Cheek Pouch and Gluttony in general as well as potentially the Applin line (Ripen), Farigiraf (Cud Chew), and Polteageist (Teatime) in specific.

speaking of how would terrains work

I think it works best to focus on the special effects of terrains instead of the power changes to certain types. Grassy is the only one that maps easily, and even then there's the extra bit with Earthquake.

If we can manage to assign the buffs from terrain to particular keywords, it becomes possible to have any move/ability/item that would require that terrain instead check for that keyword. My best guesses at the moment would be:
Grassy=passive healing=Lifelink
Misty=status blocking=Hexproof
Electric=doesn't Rest=Vigilance

Don't have a clear idea for Psychic, because I don't know what effect directly counters First Strike. Theoretically it's fine for doing the mons themselves since Psychic terrain lacks direct synergy outside the seed and Expanding Force (which can just be run on a mon that sets it with something like "creatures lose First Stirke").

Even if other terrain setters restrict their effects to creatures without Flying, Miraidon probably shouldn't do so in order to keep Iron Jugulis functional.

global hexproof holy moly
Nothing I produce should be taken as having been through balance oversight (there's a reason I've tried to avoid specific costs for anything). The "what mechanics best represent this highly specific concept" and "Defog is crap because why would I remove my own hazards when Rapid Spin exists" parts of my brain are dangerously close to each other.

ig being immune to all but one color kinda screws you if you dont play that color. maybe no protection from colorless / also both B/R weaknesses instead of one of the two

or maybe
"Protection from white, blue, green, and colorless
When this creature dies from a black or red source, exile it instead"

It definitely works for when levelling is important, but I don't consider levelling to be a major part of every mon's identity. I could see cutting it for space for mons with more exotic evolution methods (of which Bramblin itself may be one, though I don't have a better representation for walking 1000 steps off the top of my head) and several legendaries (that often spawn at a high level with few moves left to learn).

Fair, fair. Bramblin was simply a test; it did seem too wordy in my eyes.

Especially Infiltrator.

Who should I work on next I wonder...

Colourless has also been used for an eldritch, beyond normal understanding thing as well, I think? Might fit with some of the Dragon legendaries like Eternatus, Guzzlord, and Necrozma-Ultra. Maybe even the gen 4 spacetime trio.
Speaking of colorless legendaries... (I screwed up Dialga-Front a little bit but it's okay)

do you mind if I steal this concept because this is creative as hell

I love this so much :0
Ofc not, go ahead!

EDIT: Literally just realized wonder guard had been a discussion subject a few days ago :''') I just did Shedinja cuz its my favorite pokemon lol

so who's getting made next? Completed list (by dex order):
  • Nincada, Ninjask, Shedinja
  • Sableye (Remaking eventually)
  • Dialga, Dialga-Origin
  • (i forget if there was anyone else but)
  • Nihilego (Remaking)
  • Buzzwole (Remaking)
  • Pheromosa (Remaking)
  • Xurkitree (Remaking)
  • Celesteela (Remaking)
  • Kartana (Remaking)
  • Guzzlord (is probably fine, still needs the set symbol)
  • Poipole, Naganadel (remaking because holy shit, words)
  • Stakataka
  • Blacephalon

Me, to myself: It's fine to suggest a mon you just like, or to clean up a particular generation. Not everything needs to be pushing the envelope of the mechanics.

So anyway, thoughts on having Floette-Eternal tied to a Battle card?
