AP Exams

In other news, language is easy.

Oh my fucking god.....

Took macroeconomics and microeconomics today. Macroeconomics was pretty easy. But I feel like Microeconomics stuck a hook up my ass and twisted, jesus christ. I don't think I learned anything this entire year.

Taking AP US Studies, AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry next year as a sophmore and I have no clue what the fuck to expect from AP tests

can someone enlighten me

you sit in a room for anywhere from 2-4 hours and you bubble in answers for the first half and write an essay or multiple essays for the second half

ap us history is easy just remember, study the 1960's onward with some detail and 1800's exclusively. That is the main area in the MC and Free response.

APUSH is pretty ok (just study and don't be lazy... don't forget the post 70s stuff either), Comp Sci. is just lol (do as many practices as possible; for fuck's sake you have about 50 extra minutes for frqs), and Chem I can't say much since I'm taking that next year!

If anyone cares, this year I took Chemistry, Computer Science A, Calculus BC, and English Literature. I failed the Chemistry exam for sure but am confident that I scored at least a four on the rest.

Well as results are coming around, I'm sure this thread can use a bit of a bump.

I took three last year (senior year)...Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Psychology. I was absolutely positive that I did well on Macroeconomics, and positive that I got fucking RAPED by Microeconomics.

...

I got a 3 on Macro and a 4 on Micro what the hell. And I needed a 4 on Macro and a 3 on Micro to place out of the class in college...so I'm actually fairly peeved. They could have just switched scores...way to be awful. At least I got a 5 on Psychology...but it's AP Psychology, so that means barely anything.

Do they mail the results to you? I've seen a couple of people post screenshots of their scores from a website but I have no idea where to get it.

I think they mail them to you.

I was told not to expect my results until about the third week of July, so I still have a while to go :(

Some schools have the AP scores available on the transfer credit page. [If your going to college in the fall :p]

----No double post-----

Taking AP classes was the best idea! So far UConn gave me 24 credits --without me having done anything on their campus--, which means I'm almost a sophomore (screw Chem >:o). I recommend everyone who have the chance to take APs, the early pain now will save time and money down the road! :)

5s in AP calc, lit, physics mech, and miraculously, physics E&M. Still no idea how I pulled that one off. 4s in french and stat. Pretty good year for me.

So, if I understand this correctly, I can find out my scores tomorrow because I live in California? This is better than the "third week of July" bit I've been hearing.

EDIT: If so, where is everybody else getting their scores from?

I don't think so? I'm pretty sure CollegeBoard tries to mail them all out at the same time. Around the 3rd week of July...?

A couple of my friends have gotten scores back, I know this from their facebook updates (I live in Cali).

6 AP tests scoring 4s and 5s - all in one year?! You're a work machine (or simply too smart for school) O_o

What, those were KILLER. The multiple choice I finished half an hour early, but the FRQs no one understood.

my friend on the AP bio questions:

I took my AP Biology exam today and I had literally no idea how to answer the four free response questions so on the first one I wrote an apology for how little I know about Biology

on the second I wrote an “about me”

and on the third and fourth one I told a detailed account of the Laura Vawter/Danny Rawlings romantic saga from when we met sophomore year until about last week.

I think I’m going to get a good score, guys.

She ended up getting a 3

If you're a senior you can probably find your AP results through your college, since they get them before the mailed reports arrive. Login to your college's student portal or whatever and look for "transfer credits" or "placement results" or something.

Got 5s on European History, BC Calculus, Biology, and English Lit. Really relieved about Calc since I took an AB course and learned the BC topics outside of class, felt like I failed the last section entirely... won't use that for credit since I still don't know anything about Lagrange or alternating series error, and really botched a couple of the other questions.

I found out my scores too by looking on the transfer credits page.

I'm a little late for this thread but as a college student who benefited greatly from AP exams, TAKE THEM. It's worth the extra work when you get out of paying for college classes. You don't quite understand it because your classes are all free, but you'll thank yourself later when you're saving thousands of dollars on classes you already took!

Even if you don't pass the exam you will have prepared yourself for college in a way you just can't find any other way at that age. It's a huge advantage. Plus, it looks good on your application that you're willing to challenge yourself.
