(Archive) Small Objective Changes Thread

You will find This application in the Valor Resort area, south of the woman who lost her key. Use Rock Climb, and go down to the house on the ledge. The man in the house will give you the application.

From This.

The word "This" should not be capitalised.

Dragonite

Dragonite's page seems to not have been updated since Salamence's banning, so all mentions of Salamence should probably be removed from the non-uber sets. I didn't feel that Dragonite's page actually needed a rewrite so I brought it here.

I fixed Nexus's post.

Hmm, I was about to go fix Dragonite up, but then it felt like I was basically rewriting a bit too much of the analysis so I stopped (the Overview is almost like a Dragonite/Salamence comparison piece). I think I'd rather wait for the Dragonite revamp to settle in.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/jirachi

On the SubCM set, 2nd paragraph:
Thunderbolt's main use is hitting bulky Water-types, like Suicune, and Skarmory for super effective damagw
Its obvious that it was a simple typo as the "W" and the "E" are right next to each other.

Same set:
~ Substitute
~ Calm Mind
~ Thunderbolt
~ Psychic / Flash Cannon

2nd paragraph again:
Flash Cannon is the STAB move of choice for this set, as it allows Jirachi to beat Tyranitar and Celebi one-on-one
Probably being a bit picky here, but shouldn't Flash Cannon be listed first in this case?

Fixed both issues above. Flash Cannon is apparently supposed to be the first option according to the description.

edit: Bloo corrected me. Psychic / Flash Cannon was the order, the description was messed up. Thanks Bloo!

A 60% flinch rate combined with paralysis support leaves the opposing Pokemon with only a 30% chance of doing anything at all.

Second sentence of first paragraph.

Isn't the chance for being fully paralyzed 25%? 60% + 25% = 85%, leaving the target with 15% chance to attack, not 30%. I talked this over with Setsuna on IRC, and he said it should be 15% too, but he wasn't very sure.

EDIT: All right, saw your post. You can delete this now. Thanks.

Not necessarily, because it is still technically an NFE Pokemon, so I'm not so sure it needs to be changed. Maybe I could change it to "Despite being an NFE Pokemon" or something of the sort.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/shuckle

In Shuckle's analysis, the second and third sentences of the counters section read:
These Pokemon are also capable of setting up Stealth Rock, which makes Shuckle easier to deal with by the rest of their team. Another effective response to Shuckle is in Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon with their immuninty to Toxic, Shuckle's only manner of dealing damage.

The first sentence is in passive voice (I don't know if that needs to be corrected, though), the second sentence is awkward, and "immunity" is misspelled. The second sentence should probably read, "Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon are also an effective response to Shuckle with their immunity to Toxic, Shuckle's only way of dealing damage."

I've made some small modifications to cosmicexplorer's changes but otherwise, it's the same.

"Additionally, these Pokemon are capable of setting up Stealth Rock, which makes Shuckle easier to deal with by the rest of their team. Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon are also an effective response to Shuckle due to their immunity to Toxic—Shuckle's only way of dealing damage."

If I didn't remove the first "also" there ("also"'s position is replaced with "additionally" except it's moved to the front), there would be two "also"s in a row. I also went with an emdash over the comma. I just didn't like how the comma was being used there. Perhaps if it was ", which is Shuckle's only way..." it would be okay, but the emdash sounds better regardless.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/munchlax

In the third paragraph of the moveset, it is missing a period.

Any Ghost-type works well with Munchlax, as Ghosts are immune to the Fighting-type attacks that hit Munchlax for super effective damage. Gligar also makes a good teammate, as it has high Defense and a resistance to Fighting-type moves, while, thanks to Thick Fat Munchlax switches in with ease on the Ice-type moves that Gligar is weak to

Period is missing ^

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/ninjask

In the Counters (OU) section, the current paragraph reads:
Priority attacks, especially Ice Shard, will decimate Ninjask. A combination of Fake Out + priority is ideal, since many Ninjask are equipped with Focus Sash. Other useful priority attacks are ExtremeSpeed, Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, and Vacuum Wave. Take note of the fact that V2 can tank priority attacks long enough to Pass away a +1 Speed boost.
I know that this refers to Baton Pass Version 2, but there is no longer a set listed with that title, so this statement is a little vague. I'm assuming that set the former title of the current Protect + Baton Pass set.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/lucario

Lucario's Swords Dance set repeats Pokemon twice. It also stats "defensive" Pokemon, but also lists Gengar, which is far from a defensive Pokemon..

Fixed. It seems the calcs included some other not really "defensive" Pokemon such as offensive Zapdos, Starmie, and Tyranitar. I switched "defensive" to "a various amount of". Also while doing this, I had a hunch there was inconsistency between accent Pokemon and non-accent Pokemon and I was right, so I switched them all to non-accent Pokemon.

In the 1v1 metagame guide, the description for Swampert in the counter-coat section is worded oddly, as it refers to Blissey who isn't mentioned until almost the end of the guide. In addition, "as appropriate" seems incorrect. I would suggest rewording
Similarly to Blissey, this Swampert set uses Protect first to see what move the opponent is using, then uses Counter/Mirror Coat as appropriate.
