On average they'll be the same. SD first is more likely to roll higher damage (12.5% chance of five hits with one use vs ~1.56% chance of ten hits with two uses) but is also more likely to roll lower damage (37.5% chance of two hits vs ~14.1% chance of four hits).

Using SD first is of course the wiser option if you plan on attacking again afterwards.

Interesting. It seems like Swords Dancing is definitely the way to go in this situation.

Thanks!

What spinblockers are there that can handle Tentacruel? Gengar seems decent, though its fragility is unfortunate on a stall team. Most bulky ghosts like Jellicent and Dusclops go down to Toxic.

It depends on the set it's using.

If it's the usual Toxic Spikes / Scald / Protect / Rapid Spin, then Jellicent works just fine. If you switch it in as soon as you see it you won't get poisoned by the spikes. However, if you can't stop the first layer for whatever reason, be sure to come in as the second layer comes up so you only get normal poison. Gengar can switch in and beat Tentacruel by the skin of it's teeth, but if it gets burned or is not healthy it will lose. Thunderbolt probably doesn't OHKO either.

The SubToxic set is a different story though. Sandstrom takes away from it's effectiveness and getting burn / paralysis on it makes it worthless. If it's paralyzed, Jellicent beats it with taunt. If not, you just get Toxic'd. (However, if you taunt Tentacruel after it toxics you, you can switch to something that can take advantage of the fact it only has scald as an attacking move) Your best bet against this is to just take advantage of the fact that it doesn't have reliable recovery, or you can just flat out wall it by switching in something like Toxicroak. If you're using stall, Tentacruel likes to come in on Ferrothorn / forretress / etc. so nailing it with thunder wave while it comes in is your best bet on the SubToxic set, you you can taunt it before it toxics you. SubDisable Gengar can also put a stop to Sub Toxic if you get lucky and come in on anything but a scald.

I've seen the term DragMag thrown about to describe a playstyle.
What does it mean?

It's pretty much an hyper offensive team that employs Magnezone, Magneton, sometimes Dugtrio, etc. and numerous dragon types. Steel types that hinder the dragons are trapped by Magnet Pull and disposed of, which allows the other dragons to spam their STAB moves. It's pretty effective for the most part, but some steels can get around being trapped (Jirachi has Fire Punch, Bronzong has Earthquake, etc.) It is also vulnerable to opposing dragons most of the time, but some teams do randomly put a mamoswine in their team to deal with it.

How do you find your SID without AR and without finding a legit shiny in the wild? Thanks for the help, guys.

Follow the steps on this page to upload a Pokemon from the game you need to find your SID in. Check the information for the Pokemon you uploaded and it should be in the section underneath your trainer sprite.

I'm currently training a tryanitar(It's currently a pupitar), but I'm having trouble deciding which four moves I should teach it. The options that I'm thinking about are Earthquake, StoneEdge/Rock Slide, Crunch, one of the three elemental punches and Aerial Ace.

I usually like to have moves on my pokemon that cover its weakness.

StoneEdge and Crunch are their for strong STAB moves. Earthquake is good to counter steel types, fire punch is also good on steel and against grass types. Thunderpunch is good against water types. Ice punch is probably the least one I would use out of the elemental punches, though it can be useful against Gliscor and Aerial Ace counters grass and especially fighting types. It seems all of them can be useful, but I can only use four.

Which four of these should I use? Other moves moves besides these can also be suggested.

And for additional information, it's a neutral nature with 252 EV's in attack 20 in each of it's defenses HP/Defense/Special Defense and the rest in Speed

sadly, that's what makes Tentacruel so effective - if you want to spinblock him, haha good luck. As the above user said, Jellicent is probably your best option as long as you can get it in before the tspikes start a-fallin'. Otherwise, haha good luck, unless you run crazy tenta-specific bs like Rotom-N

EDIT @ ABOVE: If you're looking to run a purely physical tyranitar, i'd go for something like Stone Edge / Crunch / Superpower / Fire Punch. However, Tyranitar actually works decent mixed, with moves like Fire Blast. Tyranitar has no business staying in on any fighting type, so don't even try to beat them. it won't work.

I've seen the term DragMag thrown about to describe a playstyle.
What does it mean?
It basically means that you eliminate your opponent's Steel-types using Magnezone and/or Magneton, then sweep with your CB, Swords Dance, or Dragon Dance Dragon-types since Dragon has perfect neutral coverage with Steels gone. 4 drag + 2 mag is the "traditional" DragMag style as you have Magnezone and the failsafe Magneton to get rid of opposing Steels, then 4 Dragons to mop up the rest. I don't know how effective this would be still, as you'd have to have a way of getting rid of Mamoswine who manhandles this strategy. You also can't afford a spinner with 4 Dragons.

Landorus-T / Landorus-I @ Life Orb
Hasty / Jolly Nature
- Gravity
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Swords Dance

What do you think about the slashes?
I'm running SpD Hippo, AmoongBroTran core, and probably Ferro / Forry as teammates.

Adamant Landorus-T +2 EQ against Gliscor: 92,37% - 108,76%. You can drop HP ice for swords dance if you successfully manage to use gravity and swords dance (that's a big IF though). Note that jolly can't ohko Gliscor.

How do EV reducing berries work? How many EV's are lost? Is it a one time use? Does it work in battle or outside like a vitamin? Does it work similar to the power items for EV training?

They work like a Vitamin, where you feed it to a Pokemon outside of battle. They raise a Pokemon's happiness and lower the affected stat by 10 EVs in BW and BW2. In Emerald through HGSS though they worked a little differently, where the first berry would lower the EVs in a stat to 100 if there were more than 100 EVs in the stat. After that, each berry would lower the stat by 10 EVs until it reached 0. If the stat had below 100 EVs to begin with, it would start by lowering them by 10.

Hope that helps! Because of the change, it takes a lot more berries to empty out a stat with a lot more EVs than before, but it is easier to keep track of.

EDIT: @SuperSimon

That's somewhat of a hard question to answer, but since Meganium is primarily a support Pokemon I suggest building your team with the support Meganium can offer them in mind. Meganium is capable of setting up screens, being a cleric with Aromatherapy, and phazing with Dragon Tail, which is a unique combination though you will likely struggle to put all 3 abilities on one set. As far as being a cleric and dual screener, it is generally outclassed by Celebi who has better bulk and hits harder, though it does lack a weakness to dark and won't be as horribly raped by U-turn I suppose. I don't know if there's any other cleric that can also phaze though, so maybe building a team that can capitalize on that would be effective. Sun support might be helpful, to ensure Synthesis heals a good amount of health and perhaps even to make use of Leaf Guard (if it's released, not honestly sure if it is or not or how compatible it is with its key moves). However boosting the power of a type that's super-effective against Meganuim might be counterproductive for a defensive Pokemon.

Honestly it's kind of a hard sell since Meganium is really not very good in OU at all this generation. At least last generation the general power level was closer to what it could handle... Honestly it seems likely you'll just end up being using a lesser defensive Celebi than anything else.

As far as I get it they reduces the EV of the corresponding stat by 10 when your EVs are 100 or below and decreses them to 100 if your are above.

Edit: Listen to Jimera0, there are the BW2 infos. Also, fair ninja'track for a week.

Thanks, also where I can find a qualot in HG/SS, if it's available?

Until a few hours ago, I went by the name of Smaug. I always visited the site from my iPod Touch. I updated said iPod earlier today. I visited Smogon for a little bit after that, then went to my iPod settings and cleared my website data.

I tried to return to Smogon, but it wouldn't accept my password. I tried to receive a password retrieval email, but it wouldn't recognize my email address. I made this new account from that same email address so I could ask for help. Is there a moderator or administrator who can help me with this?

I would like to build an OU team that utilizes Meganium. What would my best bet be in terms of the type of team, and a set for Meganium?

Meganium isn't viable in OU. It has poor offensive stats, has poor defensive typing, and doesn't quite have enough bulk to Wall. However, if you're going to use it you should probably run a Dual Screen set.

Meganium@Light Clay
Bold Nature, 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Reflect
Light Screen
Aromatherapy
Giga Drain

Basically, you come in on something you wall and set up Screens, which buys sweepers and wallbreakers time to set up. Reflect and Light Screen are there for obvious reasons. Giga Drain gives Meganium an STAB and at least some recovery, and the last team slot supports the team further by healing status. The EVs maximize Meganium's mixed bulk to ensure it does its job. Good teammates include frailer pokemon who can take advantage of the Screens she provides, such as Wallbreakers like LO Infernape and Sheer Force Nidoking or Sweepers like Dual Dance Terrakion and DD Salamence.

While that's all well and good, there are many Dual Screeners who are flat-out better, such as Bronzong, Lati@s, Mew, and the newly-released Shadow Tag Gothitelle. I highly recommend you use one of them if you want to build a serious team.

How often does TechniLoom carry Stone Edge? Should I assume it to be a staple on every set (like Spore, Mach Punch, and Bullet Seed are)?

Stone Edge isn't uncommon on Breloom, as it allows it to hit Salamence, Volcarona and Dragonite as they try to set up. However, for the most part, the most common Breloom set I have seen is Spore, Bullet Seed, Mach Punch, Low Sweep / Swords Dance. It isn't necessarily a staple, but it is something that you should be aware of and need to scout for Stone Edge before sending in your Volcarona or Dragonite to setup.
