If I am EV training, does my lead pokemon still get the full EV's he's supposed to get if I switch out and actually kill the opponent with a different pokemon

Also, if I run into the wrong pokemon and I run, he doesn't get the wrong EVs...right?

A pokémon will only get EVs if the foe is killed. So if you run you will not get any EVs. Also all your pokémon you switch into before killing the pokémon you are facing will get EVs from that pokémon. Hope it helps =)

I got a question of my own, if you have OHKO Clause and someone uses Metronome and it turns out to be a OHKO move, will the person who used metronome automatically lose?

I'm playing my Emerald game right now and am at the point that I need to choose between the Lati@s. I know that they are generally about the same but the Analysis seemed to point a bit towards Latias. So, which of the Latis does Smogon need more?

Do all the EV's get split between all the pokes who participated in killing the other pokemon, or does each pokemon who fought get the full EVs as if they had killed the opponent on their own?

I don't think there's an official ruling, nor do I make the rules around here, but I would say that the user of Metronome should not automatically lose in that case. If we're not banning Acupressure with its 1 in 7 chance to raise evasion 2 levels, I can't see how the tiny chance of calling up a OHKO move with Metronome (and hitting with it) should be an automatic forfeit.

I'm just going to go with Latios because it looks like there aren't as many of them.

I was thinking of making a Metronome-Abuser just for the fun out of it and Clefable is the only one with decent stats in both atk and satk.

Would the set look fine like this?

Clefable @ Leftovers
Brave/Quiet Nature
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: Brave;132 HP/252 Atk/124 SpA Quiet;132 HP/124 Atk/252 SpA
- Metronome
- Softboiled/Moonlight
- Cosmic Power
- {Filler Move Depending on Nature}

I will have Moonlight instead if I decide to chain a shiny cleffa just for the fun of it =)

How viable is timid lucario in competitive battling?

I got an exceptional timid riolu (IVs) when breeding for an adamant one.

I don't see why you couldn't have a good Timid special attacking Lucario. If you had Vacuum Wave, it'd be even better, but I think it's usable even without that. Won't hurt to train it and try it out, anyway.

Unfortunately all the egg moves were attack based so no vacuum wave for it, but thanks for the input.

What kind of bonus do the wise glasses give?

I'm thinking about training a Cloyster with a +Def nature and I was wondering what hits harder, physical moves with a lower base power or special moves with a lower base stat?

Am I better running Icicle Spear/Avalanche and Water Fall or Surf and Ice Beam?

They give a 10% boost to special moves

Depends. First, Cloyster doesn't learn Waterfall. The problem with Avalanche is that most Pokémon can either OHKO Cloyster or will be switching out. Avalanche only has 60 power on a switch, so it may not be the best option. On the other hand, Ice Shard is a nice move to have and if you have Explosion, it's nice to have a high Attack score. You could always use a +Def, –SpDef nature if you plan on switching it out of all special attacks, but it's nice to have something that can wall Ice Beams and Surfs. Perhaps you could post two sets (including abilities), and we can decide which is better.

EDIT: If you want a Water-type move on it (other than Clamp), it will definitely have to be special.

Physical Cloyster:
Leftovers
-Clamp
-Ice Shard
-Iron Defense
-Explosion

Mixed Cloyster:
Leftovers
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Explosion
-Ice Shard

I changed special Cloyster to mixed because EVs are mostly going into HP anyway. Is Toxic Spikes a better alternative to one of these moves?

The Eeveelutions (and Eevee itself lol) can Yawn, if that works with your idea.

EDIT: The Togepi family learns Yawn and BP as well.

EDIT 2: Mr Mime gets Hypnosis and BP.

Thanks man. =) I was thinking about Yawn, but now my mind is on a different matter concerning Eeveelutions.

==============================

My new question is this:

I want my Eevee to become a Baton Pass Espeon with Calm Mind, Baton Pass, Substitute, and Psychic. Yeah, that one.

I think I'd like to evolve it before sending it to D/P, but I'm not sure how to do this.

I was going to send it to my Emerald game, but how do I make it love me to evolve into Espeon without giving it any experience?

I think it'd just be easier to send it to my Diamond game first. I have more resources there anyway....

I guess I could give it vitamins and walk around a lot and give it massages (are there even massages IN R/S/E?? I forgot), but I'm uncertain about what kind of EV spread to give it because it's IVs aren't exactly perfect but I forgot what the IVs were!

@_@;
So yeah I think I need to import it to Diamond along with my other Pokemon to do a Lv. 100 Wifi battle with myself.

Of those two, I'd definitely go with the second one. If you want Toxic Spikes, replace either Ice Beam or Ice Shard, but whether you want them will depend on the rest of your team.

Ice Beam gets Super-Effective on most things, but Surf gets STAB.

Probably Surf, because everything that Ice Beam would hit would probably kill Pelipper. (A.K.A. Dragons)
