For the fossil Pokemon, when are their stats and everything determined? When you give the fossil to the scientist, or when you pick it up?

Also, where does one get Leftovers in the game? I haven't been able to find it in mine... >.>
When you pick the fossil Pokemon up.

I was wondering, besides the benefits such as Stat-ups/Stat-downs/Status/Arena Trap etc, what is the point of using Baton Pass? Like for example on Smogon there is a set with:

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Nature: Timid
EV: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Ice
~ Shadow Ball
~ Baton Pass

There are no moves to BP, so I was wondering why it was on this set. "Dry Passing" is mentioned under the explanation of this set, but I have no idea what that is as well.

It's to scout for counters, similar to U-Turn. The basic idea is to switch Jolteon into something you KNOW is going to switch (perhaps Gyarados). You select BP as they switch. You see their Jolteon counter, and get to bring in your own counter for free, giving you the favorable matchup.

Ah I see. Pretty interesting, thanks for the help.

If a pokemon who knows flare blitz has the flash fire ability will flare blitz recoil activate it?

No, it doesn't, obviously. Flash fire only activates when the pokemon with that ability is hit with a fire move (will o wisp included).

@EchelonThree: I don't really think that can be fixed around. You should just use Magnezone right. You can use a scarf to fix your speed, but you can't have magnet rise with that. Metagross is naturally faster than Magnezone, and if you want to outspeed it, you should use more EVs in speed, depending on what metagross versions you have problems with more. Check Metagross' analysis page for its common speeds.
@Rebel1706: Use the Battle Me - Mark 35 thread.

Is there an easy way to figure out which, of all Pokémon in the game, will (or can) survive a CB Rhyperior's EQ if Gravity is in place?

I'm thinking of a BT team (had it in the back of my head for a while, but I just remembered with the Infreq. Used Moves thread) and I want to think of a decent partner.

Edit: The Pokémon that survive it aren't the ones I wanted to use for a partner, those are the ones I want to be able to take out with my partner, if that makes any difference.

Well, not that I know of. You'll want a partner that not only can survive it, but survive it with a reasonable amount of health. Your looking for resistances + high defenses. Things like Celebi, Leafeon a few others. Generally look for the resistances + high defenses category of Pokemon and calc from there.

I'm planning on the partner being a one-shot Pokémon, who is slower and will use Protect/Substitute until he needs to attack and then attack once before dying (possibly with Explosion, that seems obvious, as the things resisting it are either smashed by EQ (Rock/Steel) or have low Defense (Ghost, apart from Dusknoir)).

I was wondering if there was list of Pokémon that my opponent could use to survive a Rhyperior's Gravity CB EQ (an en-masse damage calculator for the Battle Tower, if you will) so I would know what the oneshot Poke would have be able to take out.

Because it can do exactly what Wobbufet can (Shadow Tag => Encore/Mirror Coat/Counter) except with slightly worse stats.

Edit: Drastically worse. But still broken.

One of the other members has a calculator for determining the best defensive EV spreads for a Pokemon, correct? Does anyone know what the link to it is, if it's available for viewing/download, that is?
