It generally is something that is effective against the most popular strategies, but not necessarily that potent in a general sense.

Basically, anything that works better against people from smogon than against your IRL friend.

@ Skae: I don't know for sure, but I think that explosion will miss, killing Metagross and doing nothing to Gyarados and that intimidate will affect Gyarados.

I'm trying to get HP Fighting with the highest power possible with speed IVs of 0, but I'm not too familiar with how to change the ivs around to get them. Attack IV is the one I don't care about.

I'm looking at 30/30/31/30/30/0, with HP Fighting Power 64, is this the highest I can get?

Hi there,

I've been trying to hatch a good Feebas and I hatched... a Shiny Feebas!

Unfortunately, the nature is Careful and the IVs are soso.

What should I do with this thing? I'm kinda demoralized lol. First Shiny in a quadrillion days of playing...

Sadly careful is a really bad nature for Milotic, lowering that good base 100 sp. atk. You need to go on breeding imo.

I have a question, am I the only one who has noticed the Hidden Power man and the IV guy is back from emerald?

You are not the only one, some posts ago someone posted an explanation of what he says:

If the average of IVs is ~30 he'll say the pokemon has outstanding potential
average is ~25, relatively superior potential
average is ~20, above average potential
average is ~15 or below, decent potential

He'll also say which stat has the highest IV. If the pokemon has multiple stats of that value, he'll say one of those stats in random

If the value of the highest stat = 31, he says "it can't be better in that regard"
value of highest stat = ~30, "fantastic in that regard"
value of highest stat = ~20-25, "very good..."
value of highest stat = ~15 and below, "rather decent...
Though I beleive that needs to be confirmed.

I think that the lowest speed IV for hp fighting with 70 base power is 2.

What move would offer the best coverage for OU? Also, is there any point in running this in OUwith Scizor so common, or should I just Scarf or Specs it?

I know from personal experience that Intimidate will effect airborne and underwater (Dive) Pokemon.
What about underground and vanished Pokemon from Dig and Shadow Force?

Trainer #1's Gyarados used Bounce.
Trainer #2's Metagross used Explosion.
-Now here's the question: Will Metagross's Explosion be consider a "miss", and that mean Metagross will die and at the same time Gyarados is unharmed?

Thanks for the help in advance.

If explosion misses for any reason, the user faints and the target is unharmed.

...Hang on, I have a question myself.

I know just plain missing does this, but does Protect or Detect cause an enemy exploder to faint, or does the move fail altogether?

If your opponent is settting up Toxic Spikes and you own a Crobat, can you switch Crobat in and use Roost to get rid of the Toxic Spikes..?

In order to get the national dex in platinum, do i need to see Dialga and Palkia?

If you've completed the main storyline, they should have already been counted in your Pokedex. Ironically, you've only seen them once when Cyrus pulled them out at Spear Pillar and they count, but the pixies whom you've seen around 3 times are not counted. XD You have to go visit them in their caves and engage them in battle for them to be counted. -.-

No, the effect is only upon switching in. If Gravity is present, though, you can switch in Crobat and Gengar and the like (Weezing?) to remove Toxic Spikes.

Do I have to catch Giratina when I go in the alternate world the first time or can I leave him there?

You can never go back to the first area, so yes, you have to catch it. Later, you can use the Turnback Cave to go to another part of the Distortion World, and obtain a Griseous orb there.

Can anyone give me a specific location of the top breeder in Platinum btw? =P

Nah, you don't have to catch it then. He appears in Turnback Cave in Alternate form after you've obtained the National Dex. The portal to Distortion World is actually hidden behind it, but because of its massive overworld sprite, most people don't notice until they've captured it. Or so I've heard. XD

I'm confused by Power Item training. If I attach the Power Bracer, then go fight Fisherman Andrew, will his Magikarp yield Attack EVs instead of Speed?
