@Eon, the easiest way to get quick(ish) happiness is to leave them in the day care, or just keep them in your party.

but they have egg moves and i dont want to keep checking plus im getting loads of work at school and i've always wanted to have an actual team to battle people plus the time to EV train them...I was hoping someone with some "help" could evolve them for me and i can do the rest.

Well if you have other things to do while you're at it, I like to go to the Fuego Ironworks where they have those sliding tiles and tape down my D-pad so that my character will spin into a wall and walk back to the tile, spin to the wall, and keep walking. It's slow, but you can go do something else and check periodically (in case the tape loosened).

Okay, long question, because I have difficulty explaining myself clearly.

On the GTS in Platinum, is there any reason I can't see all the requirements that people are requesting? For example, there is this Honchkrow I needed, and it was asking for a Magnezone. It just says "Magnezone". Nothing else. I evolve a Magneton and try to offer it, but it's grayed out. This happens for like 3 other different Pokemon, such as a Victreebel for something that I forget. I finally get tired and get on Pearl and try there. It turns out, the whole requirements are >level 70 Magnezone and level 100 Victreebel, but Platinum failed to show me this, and instead only put "Male Victreebel." I was wondering why this happens (grawr so annoying).

Another thing I noticed: The first time on the GTS, only 3 results would show. But after testing a trade with a Yanma of mine for a Magikarp to see if my GTS was funky, my results starting showing up at 5. I have a hunch if I do another trade, it'll go up to 7, but it's been difficult finding a decent one as people are asking rarities for stupid things (made even more difficult by unseen level restrictions). Do you suppose that once I get 7 results to show, my next trade will reveal the level restrictions? I think this is stupid, but I don't even know if it's right. HALP.

I told you I was wordy.
I'd really like to know why Platinum's GTS fails to give me all the requirements.

Okay so I've Leafgreen and RSE and Pearl...I'm now considering getting another pokemon game. I lost my Leafgreen, so the choices are Platinum and Firered/Leafgreen.

Which would you choose, on a whim?

ugh there seems to be a slight glitch on exchanging friend codes and I dont know why it wont let me exchange friend codes. The message pops up saying "You put the wronge Friend Code in" we both checked ours like 3 times. Still it wont work.

Help plz?

So I decided on the Standard Gengar build, with Explosion over HP Fire (Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but since I am breeding it myself, HP Fire may be hard to obtain).

Which stats should I aim at if I am going for triple flawless? It also mentions some stuff about changing the EVs if I use Explosion over HP Fire, and that I would need an 30 instead of a 31 in speed for HP Fire over Explosion.

What are your guys takes on the build I should go for?

Thanks =)

@notsneaky: It is mainly for scouting for moves while not having to worry about being Pursuited which will do a lot of damage.

@Vince: It's the IVs that needs to be changed(bred), not EVs. For HP Fire you cannot have an IV of 31 for speed, so the HP Fire Gengar will be slower than other base 110 pokemon. It really depends on your team as to which one is better, as Explosion and HP Fire are targetted for different pokemon. HP Fire is mainly for steel types, while most steel types don't mind Gengar's Explosion too much. Explosion is usually for Blissey. So it depends on your team.

Hmm, okay, there is also the choice of Hypnosis I guess =p

I was aware I needed an imperfect speed, I was talking about both EVs and IVs in the same sentence accidently... =P I meant I will need to change the EVs from the ones listed in the Standard list if I go with Explosion.

@ Eon: If you're walking around to increase happiness, make sure to have the soothe bell equipped. I think the most efficient method would be the ev reducing berries if you have a large supply of them.

@ Vince: If you aren't doing hp fire, then speed and special attack should be maxed. Then, if you are running focus punch or explosion, attack should be maxed. If not, then max hp.

@pkmn1000: It really depends on the varying levels of ridiculousness you're willing to give the attacker in your hypotheticals. Metagross is pretty unlikely to be OHKOd, as are Cresselia and Suicune. But if you are talking about silly stuff like power trick + 6 rollout shuckle, then nothing will survive.

If I'm breeding a Ditto with a female pokemon and the Ditto is holding Everstone, does the Ditto's nature still have a 50% chance of being passed down?

Gahh I have no idea which Gengar to aim to breed! Don't know enough to make a good decision =p

All of the moves are learnable from any basic Gengar aren't they (Aside from HP:Fire), so I just need to worry about stats. =p

So like does anybody else have this problem?
