No. It just makes removes Flying-types' Ground-immunity. The actual Flying-type itself is still there: it's just ignored when a Flying-type Pokemon is hit by a Ground-attack.
Hey guys, I'm trying to max out a Pokemon's happiness.
If I get a massage in Veilstone City, can I move the clock forward on my DS by a day, so that I can get another massage straight away?
(Also, does the Soothe Bell work with massages?)

As for your first answer, yes. Time traveling works in Pokemon, so I guess Dialga must be lazy or something. The Soothe Bell thing I don't know. Also what happens if opposite Shellos/Gastrodon breed? What are the results?

If you don't play the game for a certain amount of time (or if you time-travel) the Journal comes up when you press Continue. It's completely normal.
Also, you can edit your posts, in the bottom right corner of the post. It's generally more acceptable than double-posting.

Two questions to start:
1) Does Staraptor being in BL mean he's between OU and UU or between UU and NU?
2) I've just picked up Platinum, and Pearl was my first Pokemon experience, I was too old when the first ones came out. Does anybody have any suggestions on a bird to use in Sinnoh besides Staraptor, just to get to the Elite 4? I'm pretty sick of him at this point :)
EDIT: To note I do have a Skarmory egg I transferred from Pearl just to be my HM slave along with a Bibarel. I just got badge #4.

If memory serves me right, Staraptor is currently in "Limbo", which is between OU and UU.
As for a "bird", Wingull/Pelipper can be fun to use, even though it is commonly overlooked. A personal favorite of mine is the Hoothoot/Noctowl line. Or, if you are simply looking for a Flying-type in general, Crobat is always a nice addition to a team. Since you have Platinum, you could also raise the Togepi given to you.
I always forget about that Togepi being flying, cause he's so small to start with. I really just want somebody who can learn AA so I can deal with fighting types and to avoid earthquakes once I get to the Elite 4. Thanks a bunch for the suggestions.
I realized after the 3rd badge I was playing exactly the same game as last time, Turtwig/Gya/Starly/Luxray/Biba and it seemed quite narrow-minded of me to do so. These forums certainly do give you the inclination to think outside the 'simple/easy' box.

Yeah same starters, I've got a Diamond game that I reset a few times where I played Empoleon/Infernape, but I just dig the Turtwig/Torterra line. I think the team I'll be running now though for E4 will be Torterra/Gallade/Tentacruel/Lucario/Raichu with the aforementioned flyer filling the last spot. Decent coverage, I think?
The Torterra line is also my favorite. ^_^

Hey, would anyone be able to tell me the minimum base SpA required to OHKO a Heatran with Earth Power?
Wow that team checker is quite nice. I've decided to go with Rotom/Togekiss since I have the Secret Key from Toys R Us (Nothing like a grown man asking how to get a mystery gift).
with a positive nature? how many evs?
Hm... I guess Max Evs, +ve Nature.
The minimum base SpA to do that is base 95, Boosting nature, 252 SAtk EVs, no Life Orb and no STAB, and the opposing Heatran is the standard Choice Specs set (Timid, 40 HP / 252 SAtk / 216 Spe.)
