I thought EVs still increased at Lvl 100 via the Box Trick but Bulbapedia says that's not the case. I assume it's correct... can anyone confirm this?

Ummm...I've used the box trick on my L100 Reggigigas with vitamins?
I'm pretty sure vitamins update the stats as soon as you use them, but even if they don't, by "the box trick" they mean gathering EVs through battles and depositing and withdrawing the lvl100 Pokemon to update its stats. This doesn't work anymore because you need to gain experience to gain EVs, but lvl100 Pokemon do not gain experience.

I didn't know they stopped gaining exp. Many thanks for clearing that up.

Could be just a really bad luck for me... Though the chance of that happening is pretty low... Let me try it with a different father and see what happens.

Thanks.

Ok so I tried a different father and things worked out... So it was most likely the problem with the haunter or something... Weird.

Another question, if I have a gastly in day care centre at like lvl 38 and then I evolve it to a haunter, would it lose a bit of stat points due to the late evolution or would it not matter at all once it hits lvl 100?
Thanks.

I'm not sure how stat changes work when something evolves and a stat goes down, but if you mean will you lose EVs, I'm fairly confident you will not. Hope this helps, but since no one replied I figured I'd give it a shot.

Can someone help me with some EV math here?

I've got a duskull that's gonna become a dusknoir with IVs 29/x/22/x/30/x
It's also careful natured. after maxing out HP, what evs should I give it in Def and SDef to make them as close to even as possible?

Thanks!

hmm you now have 258 evs to spare

so you can give 206 evs into def which gives u 348 in defence and 52 in special def which gives u 349 in sp def

The IV's are 22 in Def and 30 in SDef, right?

That means... according to Shoddy Battle's team builder, at level 100... if you put 216 EVs into Def you'll have 351 Def, and if you put 68 in Special Defense you'll have 354.

Edit: Beaten and by an even better match. Hat's off to you.

My Pokemon currently has Pokerus+Power Anklet and is fighting Magikarps to gain Speed EV's. This means it gains 10 EV's per Magikarp fought.

If my Pokemon has 6HP/252Attack/and 250speed (508/510 EV's), will fighting another Magikarp with the above conditions give me the 2 speed EV's or do I have to gain exactly 2 speed EV's (meaning take off the anklet and fight a magikarp). Sorry if it's confusing.

You can't go over the 510 limit, so fighting another Magikarp will still get you 2 EVs, regardless of those methods.

Just trying to get a handle on Life Orb numbers, if my Pokemon has 331 HP when the HP IV is 31 and 329 when HP IV is 29 is it more advantageous to go for the 29 IV if it is going to be holding a Life Orb as the way I understand it it will have more health after 3 attacks than if it had an IV of 31?

Yup, your understanding is perfect. 329 HP will lose 32 HP per attack, and 331 will lose 33. After three attacks, you'll have one more HP with 329.

so Im continuing my quest\research on the perfect trick room team, and I need some help.

I think I've narrowed my core to a fairly certain Porygon2, Bronzong, Slowbro. I need a list of pokemon that can threaten all 3 of these pokemon from setting up Trick Room (I.E. 2HKO all of them). I will use this list to find the perfect 6th pokemon for my team, as my 6th pokemon is going to be a fast sweeper dedicated to dealing with the threats you find.
Known:
Breloom- Sleeps Bronzong, KOs P2 and Slowbro

As someone who's had to fight a lot of Trick Room teams lately, one of my main priorities was to keep my Naive Mixape alive. Close Combat does a number to Pory2. An LO'd Flamethrower wrecks Bronzong. Slowbro can withstand Infernape as Grass Knot only has base power 80 and Slowbro has decent bulk. A MixMence also can put holes in that core, as LO'd Draco Meteor weakens Slowbro and Pory2 significantly and Fire Blast/Flamethrower does lots of damage to Bronzong (but fails to OHKO iirc). However, MixMence is incapable of handling all three of these as Draco Meteor's Sp. Atk lowering kills its ability to touch Bronzong, who is also immune to EQ.

Thanks: ) I didn't mean the EV at all. I was just wondering whether or not a Haunter that evolved at like lvl 38 would end up loosing stats since a Haunter has better stats growth than a Gastly.

So I'm thinking I may have to use Latias. It deals with Mixape, mixmence, and if I give it psychic it deals with breloom. I'm not sure it thunderbolt will be necessary or not, but I'm sure it won't hurt.

anymore pokemon that trouble my core would be nice to know about, so keep em comin.

no you will not, he will raise to the stats that haunter should have upon evolving

How much does Belly Drum increase a Pokémon's attack? What does it mean when it says that it increases it 6 stages? What would that mean in stat numbers?
