Just post them here, and we'll do our best to answer them.
Okay, so I've played Pokémon for a while and just a few months ago found out about this website and competitive battling and decided to try to learn mechanics and whatnot about my Platinum game. So I learned about EVs and IVs but a lot of things never became clear to me. And please don't refer me to the guides written on Smogon outside of the forums because those things confuse me to no end. So I basically need to know a lot of things. I'll list off some questions, and if anyone could attempt to answer any, I'd be very appreciative. Some of these I may know already, but clarification would help. Oh and one final note, if any of these seem to long or in depth, you could always send it to me in a private message, thanks.
1. How many EVs total can a Pokémon have?
2. Are EVs awarded to a Pokémon by simply defeating another Pokémon in battle?
3. What is an egg move?
4. What is RNG?
5. If you reset your game, soft or otherwise, after receiving a Wonder Card Pokémon from a Poké Mart, do you permanently lose that Pokémon?
6. How can you efficiently get a Pokémon with good IVs?
7. What happens if you evolve a Spiky Eared Pichu or a Pikachu colored Pichu?
8. Why is Wobbuffet an Uber?
EDIT: 9. What side effects does Sky Attack have? Flinch and Critical hit?

1) Any pokemon can have 510 EVs total, but only 508 of those are relevant. (The last two don't boost a stat, you need 4 to boost a stat by one point). You can have up to 255 in any given stat, but only 252 of those are relevant (The last three won't boost the stat any further).

2) Anytime a pokemon gains experience from a battle, through Exp Share or Battling, it is awarded the EVs associated with the defeated enemy.

3) An Egg Move is a move that a pokemon can learn only by breeding with a different species. If a father of species A has "X", where X is an egg move of species B, then breeding father A with mother B will yield an egg that hatches into a pokemon that knows X.

4) RNG is the random number generator that the games use to create wild encounter stats or hatched pokemon, among other things. It is not perfectly random, however, and so "RNG-abuse" (covered in depth elsewhere, check the first page of this thread for a link) is a method of manipulating this number generator to achieve perfect pokemon that you want.

5) I don't think so.

6) See RNG-Abuse and Breeding, covered in-depth in links on the first post in this thread.

7) I don't know.

8) Because it was voted that way in Suspect tests. It automatically guarantees a KO by switching in, preventing the switch out, Encoring or Counter/Mirror Coating. It is very unpopular to play against. They enable huge holes to set up pokemon like Lucario. Also, sets abusing Tickle with a strong Pursuiter like Tyranitar can be extremely powerful too.

9) Two-turn, 140 BP, Flying, +1 Crit Rate and Flinch chance.

Can you nickname a poke from a Foreign game in an English game if you have the same trainer id? And if so, can you use the full number of characters?

bulbapedia said:
If the Pokémon is traded or transferred to another game, its nickname cannot be changed unless it is traded back to its Original Trainer. This is because the nickname cannot be changed by a game whose Original Trainer name, Trainer ID number and secret ID number do not match the data on the Pokémon itself (which happens extremely rarely without cheating)

If a pokemon you get in a foreign game has the sme Id and scret ID as yours, as well as the same OT name, and you can use all the charecters, I would think.

How does wide lens work on a pokemon that has the ability hustle? For instance, if I wanted to use return, which has a base accuracy of 100% but an effective accuracy of 80%, would the new accuracy be 90% or 88%?

thanks, and do the above poke need to have the move in their moveset for it to work?
Yes, a parent needs to know the move to pass it on - with the single exception of Light Ball *chu creating a Volt Tackle Pichu.

also out of curiosity, who is the best baton passer in OU?
There isn't one, because it depends on what you want to pass, and to an extent what to. Smeargle can do the pass anything thing like Mew, but its outclassed for passing any specific thing except Ingrain. There's a guide to Baton Pass teams.

5) You will not lose that pokemon permanently unless you start a new game.
7) You may evolve the Pikachu Colored Pichu, but not the Spiky Eared Pichu. However if you evolve it, it will not unlock the Spikey Eared Pichu.

My question is, if you have wondercards on a game, and you restart that, will you lose the wondercards? (i.e before you get the pokemon from them)

7. What happens if you evolve a Spiky Eared Pichu or a Pikachu colored Pichu?
The Pikachu coloured Pichu, I think is just a shiny, meanign that evolving it will result in a Shiny Pikachu, but I could be wrong.
However I'm almost completely certain that the Skiy Eared Pichu won't evolve.

I know they're both NU, but which is generally better: Raichu or Light Ball Pikachu?

I personally prefer Light Ball Pikachu, but that's mainly because I got a pikachu from PBR so it has both Volt Tackle and Surf.

My simple question: Is it at all possible to get more than one Explosion TM from the Veilstone Game Corner? I got past ten bonus rounds twice in a row and I've still not gotten a second TM, and I know it seems like I just answered my own question, but it took me two 10+ bonus rounds to get my first explosion TM.
