Is there a guide explaining how wild Pokemon get IV's, and the chances of getting better IV's etc?

Like the Breeding guide but for Wild Pokemon?

Emphasis on the "random".

Unlike breeding, you can't control wild Pokemon's IVs without doing some RNG abuse, if I'm right.

GARGH! I'm not getting anywhere. I think this will be a better version of my previous question.

Will a Pokemon that is EV trained at level 1 end up with the same stats as a Pokemon that is fed all the EV erasing berries and then EV trained at level 20? Natures not being a factor.

If two pokemon have the same nature and IVs and both are fully EV trained with the same EVs and one is at level 1 while the other is at level 20, then when they are at the same level, both pokemon will have exactly the same stats.

Yes.

There is no reason why level trained at would effect max stats at level 100. You could EV a Pokemon at level 1 and at level 99 and it would have the same stats.

Note that you can't EV a pokemon at level 100, outside of using vitamins and depositing it in the PC so the stat change can take effect.

A question:

For the ALAMOS Darkrai, I'm assuming the better move to use out of Roar of Time and Spatial Rend would be Spatial Rend, correct?

Obviously I'm keeping a UT copy with both moves.

@SuperErinMan: Yes, of course, Spacial Rend is the better move. Roar of Time should pretty much never be used.

@EpicTurtle: Maybe other people can give a better answer, but from what I know (sorry, I know, these might just be really obvious), Scarf Gengar has the advantage of:
1)outspeeding Scarf Flygon (and other base 100 and below scarfers)
2)(for what it's worth) outspeeding Adamant Kabutops in rain and Kingdras that do not have near max speed. This then includes Adamant Dragonite and Gyarados at +2 speed too.
3)higher special attack.

If you have Counter selected as your attack for the turn, and your opponent uses U-turn, switching to another one of his Pokémon, will Counter fail? If not, which of your opponent's Pokémon will it hit, the one who switched out or the one who switched in?

Counter hits the switch-in.

What pokemon would I need to trade for if I have Emerald, Ruby, Fire Red, Diamond and Heart Gold? This would be for the pokemon that are needed for a star on your trainer card so the needed list would not contain pokemon like celbi, jirachi, darkrai, arceus and others similar.

What is a good moveset for Tyranitar for a Trick Room team? The Trick Room guide suggests that the set be mixed, but when planning a mixed sweeper set for him, he seems like he suffers from 4-moveslot syndrome.

man, bet those are wicked expensive.

If you know where to go, it's much cheaper... But enough talk about hacks from me.

To my question: I heard someone here on Smogon say that a pokemon caught can only ba hex flawless if it was Modest, Docile and 2 other natures. A) is this true? B) does this mean a pokemon that's hex flawless and not one of those natures, won't pass hack checks? C) what is the best IVs for pokemon that aren't those natures?

Modest, Timid, Calm, and Docile are the only natures that can produce all-31 spreads for Pokemon that are caught in the wild. Pokemon that are bred or generated through other means can usually have any nature/IV combination.

If you check the RNG thread in the wi-fi section you can find a few programs that can generate seeds for any valid IV spread.

So, legendaries and non-breedable pokemon aside, a pokemon can technically have 31 IV's in everything, with any nature, and still be legit, right? Like, a Jolly Hex-Flawless Riolu, or a Careful perfect Eevee (just random examples off the top of my head)?

Obviously i assume things like Mewtwo would have to be one of those natures to be Hex-Flawless, since they can't be bred.

one of the fossils from gen 4 (i believe it depends on you SID), Glameow/purguly. Everything else is obtainable from just generation 4 (outside of the regis). Also, the starters, if you want to count those

Masuda Method question.

Would I be better off trading a Japanese Ditto from my Platinum to my PAL Diamond and breeding? or using a English Ditto on my Japanese Platinum with a PAL Pokemon?

P.S I don't RNG so please don't suggest it instead. :)

Also is it better to keep the game on until the shiny comes or can I save turn off and start the next day etc?

How does trick room work?

Yes, I know that the slower pokemon go first. But do the Swift Swim and Chlorophyll activators get slower? I think that is the case since Agility users get slower.

And does Gyro Ball get Weaker due to the speed change?

Thanks.

All Speed stats stay the same (as does Gyro Ball's power); if a Pokémon's Speed is increased by an ability, it stays increased. The only difference is that instead of the Pokémon with the highest Speed going first, the Pokémon with the lowest Speed goes first. So yes, Chlorophyll and Swift Swim would be a liability under Trick Room, though they don't technically make the Pokémon 'slower'.
