If you are going to use some offensive Mesprit, you might as well go with a Calm Mind sweeper. (Calm Mind/ Ice Beam/ Thunderbolt/ Psychic).
You can also use Charm instead of Psychic since Psychic isn't really a useful move in OU, while Charm takes care of your weaker physical side as Calm Mind ups you special side, Charm also forces switches so entry hazard support is nice.
Yeah i thought about the usefulness of psychic in ou which sadly isnt much... but it kills infernape and some other frail fighting types that my team seems to have problems with. But thats still a awesome idea becuase i didnt even know it learns charm lol!

What is better on a VGC Rayquaza Adamant or Jolly?

The Set would be something along the line of this?

Ani384OD.png

Rayquaza @ Focus Sash/Life Orb/Yache Berry
252 Attack - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Protect
Dragon Claw
ExtremeSpeed
EarthQuake

I definitely recommend Jolly, because it is critical that Rayqauaza outspeeds the base 90 speed group. Groudon can cause massive damage with Stone Edge, if not OHKO, while Dialga and Kyogre easily OHKO with Ice Beam or Dragon Pulse/Draco metoer. I have'nt done the calculations, but I don't think the power drop matters that much.

I was thinking Rayquaza has Base 150 Attack anyway so the 10% boost from Adamant isnt that important but the 10% from Jolly for speed would allow me to out speed most base 90s like Dialga and Kyogre that are not scarfed, as well as Giratina.

Sooo??

At least in my testing Jolly was far more effective than Adamant with that same moveset. Adamant Ray hit's so frigging hard, but that's all it ever gets. 1 Hit. Maybe. Plus it gets outsped by a lot of other common +Speed priority users that it could otherwise outspeed.

Just started doing the battle factory on SS the other day. Seems like the level 50 challenge is a lot harder than the open challenge, is that the consensus or am I just playing really bad in the level 50 challenge?

I personally always find it harder, but I'm not sure if the community as a whole has any collective opinion on the matter.

I too, have found the level 50 challenges a lot harder, it just feels like there's more of a chance for power imbalance for some reason.

why is deoxys D a uber with 50/160/160 defences but cresselia with a 120/120/130 is BL, is it only bec deoxys has SR and spikes. They both have the same base stat

How come that on shoddy, when each has 1 Pokemon left, the player who explodes win? Why is this glitch not fixed?

They are not fixing any glitches on Shoddy Battle any more. All will be resolved in Shoddy Battle 2, where situations like this will result in a draw.

Yes, Deoxys-D has a lot more support options. That said, neither of them are really used (Deoxys-D in ubers or Cress in OU).

i had an idea for double battles and tried it in the battle tower and it didnt work and i cant figure out why. here's my idea

-put a choice band/specs on a poke with sleep talk and get your partner poke to be fast and use hypnosis ( i used crobat) on the choiced poke with sleep talk.
-now i thought if i kept using sleep talk, that would only count as one move ( be locked into sleep talk) and the extra power would be used as a sleep talk boost and would get the boost every time it attacks with a random attack. but i was still locked into sleep talk and this worked the first turn but every turn after that it failed.

is there some tidbit about the choice items im missing? thanks

who would be favored in a battle between an all OU team vs (1 uber, 2 OU, 1 UU, and 2 NU) team? would the uber completely swing favor toward its respective team?
edit: multiple opinions welcome

Not enough information. It would vary wildly depending on the Pokemon in the team. For example, if the Uber was Wynaut, it would offer very little advantage. Or if the Uber included team was Mono type and could be swept by a single one of your Pokemon or vice versa.

When you use Sleep Talk with a Choice item it will only work the first time, it will fail every time after that. This is a game mechanic to prevent loopholes like what you were trying from happening

avdc90:

To elaborate further. Choice Band prevents the "choice" of any other move after the first one. Sleep Talk can't use any move that the user couldn't choose itself. If all moves other than Sleep Talk can't be chosen, Sleep Talk will fail.

Sleep Talk -- Doesn't choose the following: Sleep Talk ... any move the user cannot choose for use ...
Choice Band -- If a Pokémon at holder's position uses a move ... and holder held this item ... the holder can't choose any other move for use for as long as holder remains active ... and is holding this item.

What would be the best IV spread for a physically bulky Zapdos with Hidden Power Ice? I think there was an article for it but I couldn't find it anywhere on the website or the forums.

I have a question, and it would help me if a few people told me their opinion, sort of like in a poll. What move would you use if, in a OU game, your lead Roserade faced a lead Cloyster?

i would sleep powder right away. no discussion. despite my bad luck i would rather risk a lum berry cloyster then leaf storm a sash one(who are a lot more common).

I agree with Lucalibur, Focus Sash Cloyster are more common from personal experience, and I'd rather get the sleep (or even sleep a switch-in) than Leaf Storm a Sasher and be 2HKOed through Ice Beam + Ice Shard or whatever.

Didn't want to make a new thread...

What's the best OU:

Lead
Tank
Cleric
Sweeper
Physical Attack
Speed

Who are the best pokemon in the OU tier for those category? This isnt for a team, this is for research.

How do you define "the best"? azelf/aero almost every time get rocks up, but if you want toxic spikes go for roserade, but there is really no best lead.
And this applys to almost everything else in your list except for speed(Ninjask) and attack(Rampardos).

I would suggest a standard team with a Grass/ Fire/ Water core.
Heatran (Lead), Gyarados (sweeper), Celebi (Cleric) will do fine.
As a tank I suggest something as a stall breaking Gliscor to deal with stall and offensive sweepers such as Tyranitar and Lucario.
Scarf Gengar can be used as you revenge killer (speed) and Machamp will make a fine physical attacker.
If you'd wish you can lead with Machamp (offensive lead set) and use Heatran (ShucaTran/ Leadtran) as you "secundary lead" to set up SR.

So to sum up you'll have a team like this:

Machamp (offensive lead/ physical attacker)
Heatran (SR / "secundary" lead)
Celebi (cleric)
Gyarados (sweeper)
Gengar (revenge killer/ speed)
Gliscor (stall breaker/ tank)
